If it is done and just froze, then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.
If still a problem. Then Restore again. I would reboot computer. Then open iTunes on computer. Then connect iPhone to computer. Then hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons. Then Restore the Firmware.

If you want to solve your problems, unjailbreak. And don't do it again, because jailbreaking causes problems as you read about in that article. You can try Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

type ":wq" or "ZZ" (note that :wq is lower case and ZZ is upper case)

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

That means the firmware file on your computer is corrupt.
Find any .ipsw files on your computer and move them to a different location or delete them, then try the restore again. That will force a re-download of iOS from iTunes.
