- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hi, I have a whits screen on my Ipod. The sides of my ipod have a faint writing of the ipod, however, it is mainly white. My ipod is beign recognised by my computer and it is also charging.

After I had played a game on my iPod Touch 2G, my iPod suddenly went to a white screen.
I have made these things to solve the problem:
-I have reseted the iPod
-I have put it in the Recovery-Mode
-I have restored it
-I have used the newest Firmware for my iPod Touch and the newest version of iTunes 10
I hope you can help me and sorry for my bad englisch (I am from Germany)

Sounds like a hardware failure. If it's still in warranty, try contacting Apple for repair. If it's not, you can look up some third party companies for repair. Also Apple will repair out of warranty for a fee.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

My iPod 4th gen was dead so I charged it, the apple sign appeared and stayed on the screen for about 10 minutes then went onto a blank white screen and turned off. Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If it does not resolve the issue, the device is permanently damaged and will require replacement.

Nooo or you would use OS X Recovery Mode: Disk Utilty and then Startup Disk.
