I was updating my iPhone 3g from iOS 4.1 to 4.2.1 when suddenly I lost network connection and the process failed. I have since tried to restore my iPhone 3g with no luck. I keep getting the error code 2009. Which instructs me to check my computer is up to date and all third party security software are turned off. I have done all these pulled out all usb devices but for the one that is my internet modem. I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 on HP DC500 minitower. How do I get out of restore mode. Thank you kindly.
Not sure if you were told what error 2009 is caused by so I'll let you know if you havn;t been informed. In the article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 is says:
Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.

My computer is recognizing my airport express network at first but then slips to an exclamation mark. Hello, about a week ago my ipod classic 120gb shut off unexpectedly and gave me the big red X, telling me to restore. I connected it to itunes (on a mac) and attempted to restore, but it kept on giving me error message 1439. I kind of gave up, but then randomely today when i tried to restore it, it gave me the affirmative that the ipod was restored to factory settings and would restart. however, when it restarted, it was still in disk mode, and the message on my computer was that it has detected an ipod in recovery mode that needs to be restored! i then restored it again, and again it gave me the message that it was successfully restored, however when I restored it again it told me that it was in recovery mode and needed to be restored again. anyone know how i can get it out of disk mode so that when it finally restores on itunes it can restart in normal mode?

Have tried the date time it's good not sure what else to look at and apple care is useless

I cannot see the damage. But the screening centre has pics showing it is damaged. Apple refuses to cover a physical damage. But the reason the device is damaged could only be coz it had a poor battery life from start. The iPhone 5 is infamous for the same. We all know it. Apple conveniently denies responsibility.
And the Insurance company says it covers only accidental damage. Now how am I to prove an 'accidental' damage ? Unless I lie to them.... -

Yes it can get a bit annoying but there is not much that can be done about. Use the search tool and just go page by page and quick look. You could tell a Moderator and give them your feedback and that the forums need to be more organized but still might be out of there hands.

Are you running modified software on your phone? This error seems to be common if the firmware has been modified and you're trying to restore the phone again.

Phone will not get out of recovery mode/will not update or restore
Iphone will not get out of recovery mode. I have pressed the home and lock screen at the same time, and nothing happens. I connected it to iTunes to try to update my phone or restore it, and it will not do anything. The progress bar shows up on the screen but does not make any progress and iTunes says it cannot connect to my phone. I have tried everything and went to the AT&T store and they told me to contact Apple support. What do I do now?

I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

Let the battery fully drain. After charing for at least an hour try a reset and restore.

iPad 2 froze while updating iOS 7.0.4. When connected to PC & iTunes get the message in recovery mode, must restore. I have followed the steps to restore and still have the iTunes screen showing and iTunes still does not recognize device.

Please help.You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.
