HT201210 iPad software upgrade interrupted

Upgrade to iOS 6.01 stopped after "Welcome to iOS 6.01" welcome screen & before installation completed  because user called away and unable to complete the installation steps for 24 hours.   iPad was connected to charger but will now not turn on and is not recognized by iTunes. How can it be restored?

Reboot the iPad and see if it will start up this way.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Then try to update again. If the iPad is not recognized in iTunes, try restoring with recovery mode. I hope that you backed up the iPad yesterday when you initially tried to update.
You can read about recovery mode here.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Or you can follow this.
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad.

Try rebooting your router and or cable modem. Unplug it/them for about 30 seconds and then plug back in. See if it works then.
    Reboot your iPad as well.

  • Epson Workforce 845 will not print after IPad software upgraded

All worked well before I upgraded my Ipad2 software yesterday.  No longer prints.  Message when I press print says it is searching for an AirPrint printed, and finds none on my network.  Nothing has changed except the software upgrade.  hat must I do?

Thanks...other computers on the wireless network continue to work well.  The Epson Workforce 845 is an approved printer on AirPrint.  Trying to find a printer setup screen on the iPad without success.  When I bought the new wireless printer, it worked right out of the box with the iPad.
I am tempted to restore the software to the original factory settings through iTunes but fear losing everything that has been added since I got it.  A disclaimer on iTunes says I can back all up, and later reinstall after I reset to original factory settings, but I am skeptical.  Any experience in this area?

  • IPad software upgrade too big to download

I hooked my iPad up to my PC to synch with iTunes. iTunes said the iPad needed a software upgrade. It was 565 MGs. After 2 hours, I had 200 Mgs loaded, and 5 hours to go. My satellite server let me run for another hour and then cut me off as I had exceeded fair use bandwidth. Where can I get this large file downloaded? Can I go to the local computer store and use their DSL, without taking my own PC with me?

We took the iPad to the library with my husband's laptop, since we knew it had iTunes. the iPad would not speak to his iTunes. I guess it rather fancies its home base iTunes on my desktop PC. So end of the line for getting this update, unless I can go to the physical Apple store and get them to upload for me.

  • HT201210 (iPad 2) Upgrading from 4.3.5 to 5.x.x

    Hey all
Need some help every time I try to updrade on my iPad 2 GSM I get an error that have no error code only:
"This device isn't eligible for the requested build"
I have tried this so far:
Normal upgrade with the following steps:
new user on Mac OS X 10.6.8
    new user on Windows XP
    new user on Windows 7
    Restore on all platforms
    Force-restore on all platforms
    DFU mode on all platforms
All the steps about with out WIFI and in airplain mode
Erased all content and settings and making it a new iPad and done all steps ones again.
Kind of have no idea what to try next.... Anyone have any ideas ?
And the iPad is ofcause mine and not jailbroken or anything like that. And this iPad is not a development version and there have never been beta software on it...
Please let me know if anyone have a fix or an idea what I can try next..
Hmmmmmmmmm when trying to find my software version it's not there...... what the.... no IOS 4.3.5, hmmm someone forgot to tell my iPad that....

    OK fixed.
I had to install a new box with Windows 7 on it so installed a new itunes on it and tried again. It seemed to do the trick. Wierd though that before that I tried on a brand new Macbook Pro with a fresh install on it and that did't work.
So to others that have this problem I guess buying a new PC or reinstalling Windows 7 will do the trick (not really a solution though).

    Hello Ronmajzner,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.
To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click on the Backup and Restore button and select Back Up. Please note the location where the backup is being saved as we will need to access it later to restore the BlackBerry smartphone.
Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.

When I am trying to upgrade my iOS version I am getting an error message saying " the iPad software update server could not be contacted", I also get an error message prior to that which says the certification of the server is invalid?

Temporarily disable any security software on the computer and try again.

  • HT201210 What can you do when Ipad upgrade said "Ipad cannot be updated at this time because the ipad software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavilable. Please try again later.

What can you do when Ipad upgrade said "Ipad cannot be updated at this time because the ipad software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavilable. Please try again later.
Where can I download the ipad software myself?

What entries do you have in your HOSTS file on your PC/Mac?
If you have ever used TinyUmbrella your HOSTS file could be redirecting the request to a local server or Cydia.
Look for any entries which redirect gs.apple.com and comment out or remove.

  • Since the software upgrade connecting to hotspot from my iphone with my ipad is not working.

Since the software upgrade , I cannot connect my ipad2 to my iphone 4s via the phones hotspot.  Regular wifi is ok.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I tried resetting the network settings on the ipad, but it didn't help.  The ipad sees the hotspot, but doesn't connect.  My phone service is with Verizon.

I think I solved the problem.  I did a network reset on both the ipad and iphone.  So far so good.

  • HT201210 I get an error message that says the iPad software update server could not be contacted.  How do I fix that?

I am trying to upgrade my iPad from version 4.3.5 to the new 5.0.1 and I get the above error message.  It says, The iPad software update server could not be contacted.  I also do not have an Update button when I go into Settings and General.

You must have ios 5 or later for that facility to show up. Meanwhile, keep trying /try later via iTunes on your computer..

  • DO NOT UPGRADE APPLE IPAD SOFTWARE !!

This is a warning ! Do not accept to upgrade the IPod software through Itune as suggested. The upgrade has a high chance to fail and then you will be asked to go through a restore process and in doing so it will erase all the applications you purchased !!

Whats wrong? My update worked just fine…
    What was happening exactly?
    I suggest the following steps:
    1. Go to the "Library" folder in you user account, there you find the "iTunes" and in there the "iPad Software Updates" folder. Take the "iPad1,13.2.1_7B405Restore.ipsw" file and delete it.
    2. Open iTunes and connect the iPad, when iTunes asks to download the software or you have to restore the iPad, just allow it.
    3. When iTunes is done with the restore, it will ask whether or not you like to restore from a backup -- VERY IMPORTANT -- don't let iTunes use you backup, instead set the iPad up as a new device…
This makes sure no screwed config files are play back to your iPad, and you will loose nothing, all your Apps are in iTunes as well even you bought it directly from the iPad
    enjoy your magic machine

  • IPad - after software upgrade the APN settings keep resetting by themselves. There are multilple accounts of this happening. Please help.

    Hello,
I have a problem with an iPad 2. After the software upgrade to iOS 5 the APN settings keep resetting all by themselves (I set the APN, I get out of the setting by pressing the back arrow on the top left of the screen, I get back in there and the APN setting is gone). Of course, the internet connection si not working. I've seen other people having the same problem on their iPads after the upgrade.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I too am experiencing this issue - on an iPad 2 using a UK BT DATA plan SIM. This is not an issue with the SIM, as I have tried it in a different iPad and it works without any problems.
I have also tried all recent iOS updates, hoping it would overcome the issue - but no joy.
Can we have some assistance from the fine people at Apple please???
    It is getting rather infuriating

  • Lost my audionote apps and its data, all the photos after upgrade to latest ipad software

    Hi all,
Today I upgraded my ipad software from 4.3.5 to 5.0.1 via the itunes my macbook pro. During the upgrade the system automatically backed up my ipad. However, after the upgrade, I have found out that all the data for my apps such as audionote lite, as well as photos under the Photos folder are gone, even if I have tried to restore them from the backup on my mac.
I called the apps tech support tonight. The guy over there said only photos, calendars are backed up and restored after the upgrade.
Do you know if there is a way to restore my audionote files, which are one of the most important files for my life.
    Thanks a lot,
    saduser1

    Hy,
    I did it.
All data from other apps where restore perfectly.
    Only Audionote are missing.
In the icloud backup I see there is 1.2 gb. of data in the audionote app. but...................
    How can I get them?
    Thanks.
    Andrea
