HT201210 Itunes update is causing missing DLL. Itunes could not open?

A recent update to Apple iTunes is causing issues by receiving a missing “msvcr80.dll” error at start up. You may also be seeing this as an error message that mentions "apsdaemon.exe". I uninstalled all apple softwares and tried to re-install them again but the issue is still the same. Please help to resolve this issue....

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/APSDaemon.dll/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

What country are you in ? Media (music, films and TV programmes) are not available in all countries, some only have apps (App Store app), podcasts (Podcasts app) and iTunes U. Go to iTunes preferences, the backup(s) are listed on the Devices tab. Click on your most recent backup and click Delete Backup.

I get this message, "HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Classes\.ckka\OpenWithProglds. Verify thaty you have sufficient acess to that key, or conatc your support personnel."

even though you're not getting a 1406 or 1402 error message number with that one, try working through the suggestions from the following document:

saw somethign on a another site- . it simply said to solve problem just turn off wi-fi and it will sync
So i did that and it worked on both iphone and ipad

After following instructions for three different solutions that did NOT work; I found the solution that did work
on the support site for Syamntec.
Readers - Please, you must be VERY familiar with pc jargon and windows vernacular to accomplish the reset
of ALL the permissions in your registry.
Follow the ditrections below and pay attention to the notes for those running 64bit Win7.
Step one, back up the registry.
Step two, go to the MS KB: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe-4a91-93cf -ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en and download the file that installs subinacl. It is an MSI file, and will do a quick install of a few Microsoft files. Hint: Look in the folder listed below, "subinacle.exe" may already be there.
Step three, create a batch file (subinacle.bat) with the following commands: (Use Notepad - copy & paste, not the red stuff)
cd /d "Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools" (only for 32bit/x86 machines)
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %windir%\*.* /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f

For 64bit machines substitute for first line of bat file:
cd /d "c:\program files (x86)\windows resource kits\tools"
Step four, run the batch file. Let it run until the Command Prompt screen closes, may take 30 minutes or more.
Step five, reboot the machine and run the install again.
Ladies and Gentlemen; this worked for me and allowed immediate installation of two application packages I had been trying for three months! (Including ITunes 10.5)

After upgrading to 7.5, my iTunes would'nt open, and i kept getting the error message "iTunes could not open because of incorrect audio settings" (or something like that)
I tried everything the support site said, like uninstalling, re-downloading, and re-installing, but i get the same error. I even got the error after i uninstalled 7.5, and re-installed 7.4. I've had to uninstall 7.5, delete all folders, and clear out the registry to get 7.4 to work again.
Nothing has changed within my sound settings (im currently using an X-Fi soundcard)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Problem solved.
I re-upgraded via iTunes, restarted when asked (the exact same steps i went through when i originally got the error), only this time, i launched Quick-time first, then opened iTunes.
I guess i must have got a bad download before, or opening quick-time first was the answer.
Either way, 7.5 works now.

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes. You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update. I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)

Same thing happened to me. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. 99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
