HT201210 just restored iphone 4 and I am getting a message saying that my iphone could not be identified

Called in to Apple as my iphone 4 suddenly started showing grey lines across the right 3/4 of the screen.  Apple help told me to backup and restore which I did.  Once I restored I got a message saying that my iphone could not be identified????

What OS on your Mac?
What iOS on your phone??
