HT201210 my iphone keeps needing to be restored

My iphone over the past month and a half is constantly needing to be restored. Sometimes it can be weeks apart and other times it can be more than once in a day. My phone will usually lose network service before coming up with the 'activation required' screen, when I then unlock the phone it shows the screen requiring you to connect the phone to itunes. Is there anything that I can do to resole this issue??? I have oviously restored it many times and all of my itunes and iphome software is up to date.

The nearest Apple Store is three hours away. Asking if anyone else has any suggestions? It also doesn't seem to be going into recovery mode anymore and is just doing the restore needed thing every few hours.

  • 2nd iphone 4 in a row that keeps needing to be restored everyday?

    Ok,
2 weeks ago my iphone 4 started acting funny.  Everyday for whatever reason i would lose service and then it would say "connect to itunes " and I would have to restore the phone to its original factory settings.  this went on for 3 days until finally it refused to be restored through itunes, and it was now not reading my sim card.  so i went and got a new sim card at ATT , didn't solve the problem. So  I took it to the apple store, they determined that it couldn't be restored and they gave me a replacment unit.  well a few days later , the same thing has been happening .  This is a completly different phone , and every 24 hours it needs to be restored.  what is going on ? why is this happening .

ok , so went to the apple store, they were able to restore the 2nd iphone back to factory settings, but they had to do something special or something to get it to work.  we then set it up as a new phone, and guess what ? a day later same thing happened, and it happened after the phone had been restored and i hadn't synced it with any device yet.  ok , explain that one to me. presently it gets stuck "restoring iphone firmware"  and gets stuck doing that .  i don't want to drive to the stupid apple store for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. ARRRGH !!! this is ********

  • HT201210 my iphone is locked when i restore my iphone?how it is solve the problem?

my iphone is locked when i restore my iphone.how i do unlock my iphone.plz  give me the solution.

If you mean that you restored your iPhone and it is now locked to
a wireless carrier other than the one you were using, that happens
when an iPhone is hacked/modified/jailbroken. Contact the carrier
to which the iPhone is currently locked to see if they offer unlocking
    and if you qualify.
Be advised that the process used to modify/hack the iPhone may have
rendered the iPhone incapable of being legitimately unlocked and even
    useable.
Where did you get this iPhone? What does it say when you look at
    Settings=>General=>Carrier?
If that is not what you mean, post back with more details so someone
    can offer assistance.

  • Used 2nd Gen. Nano keeps needing to be restored

I have the latest version of iTunes as of this morning.
I purchased a used 2nd generation Nano and when I plugged it in the only option that was available to me was the "Summary" tab in iTunes. I wasn't able to upload songs or change any settings. So I Restored the Nano, relaunched iTunes and now I am in a continuous cycle of it saying that "it has detected it in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored before it can be used."
How can I reformat this and restore it's functionality?
    Thanks in Advance:)

  • IPhone 3G keeps needing to be restored

My iPhone has worked fine the past year and a half, but recently hasn't been working. It was getting no service in areas where there is service a week or so ago. Two days ago it said iPhone cannot make or receive calls restore needed. I did the restore and it has done the exact same thing at least 5 times. Sometimes it is going to the recovery mode screen when I turn it on. I've done a DFU as well and the same things are happening. Any ideas on what to do?

I have tried all the solutions and none of them have worked, Iv'e been told it could be the batterty so I've installed a new one but that still hasn't fixed the problem, now I'm completely stuck on what the problem is and how I can fix it? Can anyone help please?

    Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

  • My iphone keeps coming up with restore needed. when i turn it off and turn back on it says activation required. i have changed sim card, restored the phone and reset everything to factory settings, it is still doing the same thing. whats happening?

    help

That does happen.  It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system.  If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

  • HT201210 My iphone is frozen in the restore mode,

My iphone 4s was carrying out an update when it froze. It then  wanted to restore back to orginal settings but that also keeps freezing when it gets halfway through. The phone is will not work.

You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • Ipod keeps needing to be restored

I haven't been able to synch my ipod to my computer since itunes version 7.6. Every time I connect my ipod to my computer it says that itunes detects an ipod in recovery mode and the ipod should be restored. But once I restore, itunes just keeps saying it detects an ipod in recovery mode again. I can't get rid of this message and now my ipod won't synch.
    Anyone have any solutions?????

    *Check iPod hard-drive for errors*
Hold Menu+Select on the iPod for about 6 seconds until it resets, then hold Menu+Play as soon as the Apple logo appears, again for about 6 seconds to put the machine in disk mode. Open iTunes and in the Sync tab of the preferences menu check *Disable automatic syncing of all iPhones & iPods*. Now connect your iPod to the computer, wait until it connects, then close iTunes. Browse *My Computer* and right-click on the drive for the iPod, click Properties, then click Tools. Under Error-checking, click *Check Now*. Under Check disk options, select *Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors* (Optional - takes ages but a good idea if you've reason to suspect physical damage). Click Start. Mac users should run *Disk Utility / Repair Disk* for the equivalent process. This should find and correct any errors in the logical & physical structures of your iPod's hard drive. Once these have been fixed you can reset the iPod (hold Menu+Select ) and should stand a better chance of a successful restore.
And if that still doesn't help try Erase your iPod - The Super Fix for most iPod Problems. Basically a low level format of the iPod’s hard drive to get around whatever problems are stopping iTunes from restoring it.
Once you've restored your iPod don't rush to dump all the data back exactly as it was before. Complex smart playlists can sometimes trigger constant reboots or dumping of the iPod's library. In addition, larger transfers can fail leaving data in an inconsistent state. Try this technique for populating the iPod in stages.
    *Break up large transfers*
In iTunes select the menu item *File... New Smart Playlist*. Change the first drop-down box to Playlist, the next to is and the next to Music. Tick against *Limit to*, type in say 10, then change the drop-down to GB, and set the last drop-down to artist. When you click OK you can enter a name for the playlist, e.g. Transfer. Now sync this playlist to your iPod rather than your entire library. When the sync is complete modify the rule ( *File... Edit playlist* ) to increase the size by your chosen amount, then sync and repeat. You can experiment with different size increments, if it doesn't work just choose something a bit smaller until it works each time. Before long you should have all your music on your iPod. Once that's done you can move on to other media such as podcasts, videos, photos, playlists etc.

Also, I signed into icloud and chose to erase the iphone, but it said the iphone is not connected to the internet. Am i out of options? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really need to use the phone.

  • My iPhone 5 needs to be restored, but I'm not backed up to iCloud

I plugged in my phone to my computer today to sync with iTunes, and I received a message claiming that I need to restore my phone. I'm not backed up to iCloud. In fact, my iCloud has never backed up on this phone, and I've never been able to get it to work. I'm currently trying to.
I believe it's been backed up to my computer, but I'm really unsure. Is there any way that I can check to see if it has?
I'd really like to not lose all of my data, please help!
    -Rachel

To see if your phone has been backed up to the computer, start iTunes. From there, go to Edit, Preferences, Devices, and check to see if you see a backup listed there, and what the date is. If it is sometime not to long ago, you are in luck. If there isn't, your in trouble. Once the phone goes into recovery mode, the data is already gone.
Remember, restore the device, and then if you do use a backup you found on the computer, that restore will be to that date/time of the backup, and anything done since that time/date is lost.
