Error 1015 is most often given if the iPhone has the iPad Baseband 6.15.00 installed. There is now finally, a week ago, complete fix for this problem. Restores the iPhone GPS and iTunes Restore function back to normal. Search the Web for help.

Yes, if it has been jailbroken, then there is probably nothing that you can do and you will never be able to use it, so ditch it and buy a new phone.
If it's an iPhone 3g, then it is a very old phone anyway and you shoud consider buying a new one.

Try on a different computer. If you get this error again, go to an Apple store or call AppleCare. I've only seen this error once, & I was unable to solve it. Took the phone to the genius bar & they replaced the phone.

Although you used the new USB 3.0 port, the actual connection speed is still USB2.0, as the iPod Dock connector, does not have the 10 times faster USB3.0 signal pins, the connection speed is still 480Mbits/s
I assumed that you have tried the other USB 2.0 port to no success..
Can you do the iPod Disk diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.

In this particular case, you cannot start Tomcat because you have another web server or some other program already listening to the same port that Tomcat wants to use.
(If you don't know what a port is in this context, write back and we will go into more detail.)
I would guess that you may have Microsoft IIS running, particularly if you're on a corporate machine. You may have to look at the services running on your system and see if any of them are using the port - either check out start->control panel->administrative tools->services or do a "netstat -a" at the command prompt.
Alternatively you may configure Tomcat to use a different port. The instructions that came with Tomcat will tell you what you will need to do - it's usually just changing one line in the httpd.conf file or whatever the latest Tomcat uses now (I'm not certain anymore).

I have exactly the same issue as described above : I installed the update 5.1.1 on my iphone 3GS and since then, I can not turn it on anymore. In Itunes, I get an error 37 when I am doing a restauration and it stops.
This error has nothing to do with firewall : I tried to restore the phone on several computers, including in an Apple reseller and it did not work anywhere.
I spent several hours on phone with the hotline from Apple which arrived to the conclusion that it is a hardware issue, but the phone was working perfectly fine until I installed this update!
