HT201210 trying to update my iphone 4 and I have tried to download update to no avail.
I have an iphone 4 and I am using itunes to download the update. I have tried to download the update multiple times at a few hours each and it just won't work. I have also tried to make sure firewalls aren't blocking it and I have changed the settings on my computer so that it won't sleep etc. This is driving me crazy!!!
It might help if you told us what happens when you try...
You say you've made sure firewalls aren't blocking anything. Make sure you disable your antivirus as well. If you're using Kaspersky, you may have to completely remove it. It's especially bad about interfering with the process.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

You must have synched your phone with his iTunes account. The iPhone can only be synched with one iTunes account at a time. You need to synch your phone on a computer that has YOUR iTunes account. Then all the current data on your phone (your brother's data) will be erased and replaced with your own data.

Have you tried signing out of your iTunes & App Store on your device and then back in again - Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on Apple ID, then on Sign Out. Then sign in again and see if it accepts the password.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the Slide to Unlock screen will display. See if the problem is resolved.

Finally!!!!! I can disable 3G, which was a real problem to hang the telephone network, and the main source of battery drain.
BUT ... it seems that 3G is automatically activated if the iPhone is turned off, or if the battery is completely empty (which is almost the same).
It is therefore necessary, if we want to disable 3G, to do so each time you recharge the iphone after full discharge, or after turning off the iPhone completely.
Why is the parameter on/off of the 3G is it not kept in the state which was positioned by the user ??

Yes, I think that's the main reason.
But my problem is different: I use my iPhone for phone calls (too). And where I live, the 3G network works very poorly: the iphone switched on Edge, then tries to hook the 3G, then cut the phone with the message "network unavailable". And so this continued ...
If I can not disable 3G, I can not use my phone, and my calls fell on messaging.
For 2 years I used the iPhone 3G that worked perfectly. I hope this can turn off the 3G will be maintained, otherwise I will choose another material. And it would be a shame ... -

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I've tried downloading 3 seprate songs thur iTunes on my iPhone 4S and every time it says download incomplete and ask to retry but continues the same message. I've restarted my phone, checked internet connection, closed out of the app, etc.

I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too. I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

Are you trying to use the phone in Bahrain with a supported carrier there? I suspect not. If you try to use this phone outside of Bahrain, you won't have FaceTime. This is done to prevent folks from simply crossing the border to purchase iPhones in Bahrain...FaceTime is banned in Saudi Arabia & the UAE. Sorry, but you'll only have FaceTime on that phone while using it in Bahrain on a supported carrier's network there.

Every now and then it has been restarting by itself and requiring restore. When I connect it to itunes it restarts again and again without letting me take any action. Is there any solution?Hey, There are afew things you can try.
- Simply turn your phone off and back on again
- Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
- Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
- Close all open applications

MY wife has an Iphone 4 and I have a 5. To date we have used one apple account to manage music purchases/library. I updated ny phone to the new OS version and all her texting is showing up on my phone. I understand if i create an apple account for her I will not see her texts. Recently we bought a Mac and created a new apple account for her. How do I synched her phone with new apple account and get access to the music library under my account on the new MAC laptop before I update her phone to the new OS?
Going forward if I purchase music under my apple id and want her to have it on her device, how can I acheive that?You can continue to share an Apple ID for purchases.
