HT201210 updating iOS - must log in to proxy server?

Hello, I am trying to update my IOS on my IPAD 3G. I am getting an error reading that i must log into the proxy server after clicking on the update button under Devices/ IPAD. How do i do this?

You might havefirewall or virus scanning software active and it might be causing this. Try shutting down firewall and virus scanning and see if it makes a difference

We have all our clients behind a MS ISA proxy server. When
Flash player tries to update itself, or when you try to install it

I've got the same problem with any kind of proxies.
And this is not news. Every other apple apps use the proxy config, but not mail since Tiger.
Why?
There is an ugly method by using some proxifier to open outgoing ssh tunnel, but, as i said, that's ugly and this solution needs to have an access to SSH server.

That, when you tries to do a search(hit) on one of web sites(weblink like www.anytest.com).
You get the following error message:
"Transfer Aborted
Transfer was aborted for unknown reason. Retrying the request may work."
If it so please let me know whether proxy server is running on UNIX or WinNT platform.

HT201210 updated iOS and will not accept my prior passcode number

I updated to iOS 7 from 5.3 and when first open will not accept my prior passcode number

if passcode is the problem only path is to restore to factory settings using itunes(on computer) and the cable(usb)

I get "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time."
Trying to activate through iTunes. Been using this 3GS with AT&T for years. Perhaps it's due to an overseas IP address? I can't call customer support because I can't get through the "connect to iTunes" after attempting a restore.

Have you guys been able to activate your iphone yet? I bought an iphone 4s from eBay and it worked fine, but the previous user had left some data on it, so last night I used the "erased all content and settings" to restore it to factory setting so I can start fresh and restore my backup. But now I'm stuck at the activation screen (I get the same "the activation server is temporarily unavailable") and can't get it to activate, even if I use my old deactivated AT&T sim card (I'm on straighttalk now).
I might try activating it with an active AT&T sim card from my fiancee's phone when she gets home, so I'll let you know how that works outs.
If it's true that the server is down; anyone know when it will be back up again? Thanks in advance.

Unable to make SSL connection from Proxy Server to Directory Server

I have recently installed Directory Proxy Server 5.2 Patch 3 on Solaris 9 server. Backend directories are Sun Directory Server 5.2sp3 using Thawte signed certificates.
I can't get the Proxy Server to make a successful SSL connection to the Directory Servers. The proxy server can make the non-ssl connection without problem. When the Proxy Server attempts the SSL connection it gives SEC_ERROR_UNTRUSTED_ISSUER error. The SSL certificates on the Directory Servers are signed by Thawte and have just recently been updated. The certificate for the Proxy Server is also signed by Thawte. The CA certificate is loaded in both the Proxy Server and the Directory Server.
I also have an iPlanet Directory Access Router (iDAR) 5.0 Server that is our current production server that serves these same directories and I haven't had a problem with SSL connection with it. So, the certificates are good.

Proxy server keeps asking for authentication

My MacOS10.7.3 server coordinates a small subnet of 100 macs. To access the internet as provided by the larger organisation we must go through a proxy server. Unfortunately the proxy server keeps asking for authentication and checking the Remember This Password barely helps. Any tips would be appreciated.

It's like the credential were bad but i'm sure that they are correct.
How can i do to resolve that?

I've tested and it change nothings.
I've try to put the property "ALLOW_USER_INTERACTION" and it work fine.

Repeated iPad proxy server verification prompts

We are testing iPads in our school district, and all computers connected to the wifi netword must go through a proxy server. The problem is that once we connect the iPads to the network the proxy verfication prompt pops up everytime you visit a different website or even after different elements of a single page
are loading up. Needless to say, this makes use of the iPads on our wifi network pretty much useless.
I've searched online and on these forums for a potential solution. Turning off "Ask to Join Network" as suggested by an article that I found does not fix the problem. The Technology department has no idea why this is happening.
Any ideas?

Yes. The iDevices are very, VERY broken when using them behind a proxy server. not only do they forget HTTP traffic credentials as entered into the "Manual" setting, but they also have no option at ALL for entering a HTTPS proxy credential. To my knowledge the apple ID you registered your new mac to received all the included apps. Try using that apple ID and see if it works.
