i update my iphone and after that it stop working, it is showing itune and USB cable. please advise what could the problem?
It means that the update didnt work correctly and to prevent bricking your phone it displays that screen. Just connect your phone to the computer you sync it with and it should instruct you on what steps need to be taken.

The phone is telling you to plug in your phone to your computer. Do that then let it sit for a few minutes and then try it again and make sure itunes is open when you do

Just to clarify, my iPod Touch is not bricked. I played by the rules and still no luck. So I am not sure if the problem you are having has anything to do with your bricking. I suspect it is the software, but I don't know for sure.
Another thing, I don't know about the Black Screen Recovery either cause the 2.0 software would actually start installing, but the error 6 msg will pop up sometimes quite early, say about 1/3 done on the progress bar and sometimes 1/2 done. The most I got one time was about 3/5 done. What does this mean? I don't know. -

More than likely a hardware issue. You will need to take your phone into Apple.
