What was the exact error message you received? When you removed and re-installed iTunes, did you use the precise instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process?

Apple TV "The Device Cannot Be Found"
Hi there. I had beta software of the latest OS on my Apple TV (Gen 2). It's been a while since I've used it, but now that I am obviously the software has expired. I can't use it on my TV because it just says that I need to restore it. So I plug it into my MacBook, iTunes recognises it, opens in Apple TV Recovery Mode, I click Restore Apple TV, it comes up with the "Contacting the Apple TV Software Update Server" screen then it just says "This device cannot be found". I'm not too sure what to do now. :/
I've tried putting it into DFU mode by pressing Menu and Down on the remote (even though I guess it's already there, just wanted to try).The same thing happened to me with an Apple TV 2 - trying to update to firmware v5.1.1 on the thing failed [this has happened with previous updates too] but this time it seemed to hang so I eventually I unplugged it from the power and HDMI and connected it with a microUSB cable to my iMac 27 and iTunes 11 recognized it without delay. However, when doing a restore, iTunes 11 returned the error "Device cannot be found."
Moving ahead, I downloaded the v5..1.1 .ipsw file and did an option-restore in iTunes 11. No problems with the restore.
However, it failed to boot up / show up when reconnected to the TV. On one attempt of this sequence of events, it did work properly for about 20 minutes before crashing and I was back to where I was.
Tried to restore on my MBP Retina, still with iTunes 11, same error message, so did an option-restore with the downloaded v5.1.1 .ipsw file. Same result — would not boot up when reconnected to the TV.
I thought the thing had been frizzed when I interrupted what appeared to be a stalled firmware update while connected to the TV and wireless network, but the fix turned out to be precisely what xgentryx surmised — it's iTunes 11.
Booted up Windows 7 in Parallels 7 on the MBP Retina and did a flawless regular restore in iTunes 10; no error messages and the thing is now working perfectly.
I'm tempted to test the obvious problem with iTunes 11 with an Apple TV 3 but I've spent enough time on this already. I imagine we'll be seeing an iTunes 11.01 update soon.

I'm attempting to create a slideshow for our 8th Grade Open House tonight and the files, which I shot in raw format, are not exporting properly into JPEGs via the Export button in Library. Every time I try, Lightroom says the files cannot be found. I've heard that many people have had issues with this because they have moved or altered the original files? As far as I know, I have not renamed and changed anything. Does it help to know that I first imported these raw photos from my camera reader onto an external hard drive? ...and yes, my external hard drive is plugged into my computer...

If you click on the Photos that Failed to Export collection at the top right does the photo it highlight have a missing indicator?
If you do a test export with just one photo, to your internal drive, does it work?
I adjusted the height of the thumbnails. Still no exclamation points or question marks as noted here.

And as to your last question, I have tried several times to export them to my desktop (which would be on my internal drive, not external). I've even gone so far as to put a copy folder of my original NEF files onto my desktop (7 gb worth) to see if that would help me export...it didn't. -
I am trying to install the updates from Mac AppStore but it keeps aborting saying the it cannot verify the PreFlight file and that it's not signed by Apple. What is going on?
Just attempted to run the update and still rec'd the same message. I also see that there are many others who are havig the exact same problem. How can I get Apple support to look at it?

I tried to uninstall cs3 by going to adobe installers under Utilities, but when I click on it, it says the file cannot be found. Any ideas?
Try running Adobe Cleaner tool once :

Check for CS 3 option and remove it.

Trying to restart Apple TV by using usb and laptop with windows vista via Itunes.
Get error message that "device cannot be found" after clicking the button "restart" as instructed. You can see the apple tv icon when it is connected but get the error message when you click the button to restore. Any suggestions? When I try to sync or update my iPhone 4, I get an error message saying the backup cannot be saved on my computer.
i'm having the exact same problem with both my ipad and iphone. they will not backup. hence i cannot update my iOS. very frustrating. it seems like this is a common problem. hopefully apple will have a fix....

When I go to uninstall itunes or install the new version on Windows 7, it keeps telling me the file cannot be found and went through appdata folder and everything and cannot find how to correct this problem. Any suggestions?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
attempted to download latest update for iphone 4s. update had something to do with the calendar. during the update the picture appeared with usb prompting me to connect to itunes. when connected pop up appeared stating my phone was in recovery mode and needed to be restored. clicked tab to restore and pop up appeared stating could not restore. the device iphone cannot be found. any solutions to this problem?

Recovery mode erases your device and restores it, which should resolve the issue. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you may be able to restore from your backup after recovery.

I purchased a box set of books on iTunes, and downloaded them. The title shows up in the "purchased" section, but when I try to send it to my iPod nano, I get an error message telling me it cannot be moved because it cannot be found. I can't find a screen anywhere offering the option to re-download either. I've paid for the books, but cannot access them! Every time I upgrade iTunes, it gets more confusing and harder to use.
Also I now can`t access any of my itunes library and am concerned that if I remove it from my computer I will lose everything as I have no option of accessing and therefore backing anything up. Any ideas?

Purchased music from I-tunes will no longer play when I hit play. The message "music file cannot be located" pops up and then takes me to some other file system. Does anybody know what to do? I have already tried to make sure that my Itunes player is default and that is not the problem.
Help!You get this message because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed.

MacBook Pro lost and now won't detect wifi in the house - HELP!
