1. Turn on macbook and hold Command and S
2. Type: mount -uw /
Enter
3. Type: launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist
Enter
4. Type: ls /Users
Enter
See users list and choose yuor user
5. Type: dscl . passwd /Users/username password
Enter
username is your user username, password is your new password Can I use "emphty" password (no password)?
If you come out notice "not finding a file / directory" - just ignore it.
6. Type: reboot
Enter
All above is for OS X 10.7

No. It is a system password. I do not know what to do with the MacBook my wife, but she can not log in into the system. Therefore, setting the MAC OS is not available.
I will be reset her password in the evening.
I think recovery partition on the her MacBook it exists. I did not do anything other than upgrade MAC OS to 10.8. This is to simplify my task

I have a Skype account long time ago. But i need to enter to my account. i don't remember my password and i need my contacts.
When i receive the mail with the password token. THE LINK DOESN'T WORK. EVEN IF YOU PUT IT MANUALLY.
Now i cannot enter. Because i can't receive more password tokens, and at this time i need my contacts. It's urgently.
I don't wanna open with my microsoft account, because is like new and i don't wanna loose my other account (The SKYPE account)

Reset password process not working-how do I startup from disc

My teenager has a Mac mini and I set up her computer with the original logon/password. She logged on/off for many months without problems & then went for a long period without shutting it down & when she finally did, the password I setup no longer worked (she's not saavy enough to have changed it herself & I'm obviously not saavy enough to fix it). We both remember the original password (caps aren't on) and it just won't work. I've searched the discussion boards and none of the solutions work for resetting the administrator password. I have the original install discs but can't get to the password reset window. I have tried inserting disc 1 & pressing 'C' upon startup & I have tried the 'command-option-O-F' combination also. The regualar password screen comes up each time.

Are you going to http://www.eprintcenter.com? When was the last time you have successfully logged into ePrint Center? Are you getting a Ajax error code at the website? When you request to reset the password at the above mentioned site it should send you an email that has a link that once you click on it takes you into the website to do that password reset.

I reset my apple ID password 25 minutes ago. When I attempt to enter THAT exact password into the phone it says it isn't right. I know for a fact I am using the one I changed it to, as I verified by logging in here!!! and on icloud! What do I need to do?

Do you have 2 factor authentication enabled on your Apple account?

Reset password, account not working properly

About a week ago my itunes forced me to reset my password. Since then iTunes seems to recognise my account as if it were two accounts (one from before the reset and one after). This means that I can no longer update my apps because it requires me to log on to 'the other account'... can someone please help me? I use my apps for my iphone which doesnt seem to resynch when i connect it to itunes but continues to use apps from 'both accounts'.

I bought apps under a previous user ID that was subsequently changed to my mobileme ID when I joined iCloud. Now the apps purchased under the old ID can not update. I have reset the password under the old ID several times and each time get the reply that my password was successfully reset, but still can't log into my account under the old ID and can't update those apps. Boot from your install disk and when you reach the Install screen choose Change Password from the Utilities menu.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back? I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

Adobe Reader is not good at security issues, if you can, avoid using/downloading it.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

Your iTunes Voucher is link to the old Apple ID.

This may sound crazy, but download any free app. This often "shocks" the other apps into working.
