HT201250 I have moved TM folders to the Trash, and now I cant delete them or move them. What do I do?
Time Machine told me the back up disk was full. So I selected older folders (from 2011) and moved them to the Trash. Now every time I try to delete them, I get the error 8003. It wont allow me to move them back to TM. They disappear when I unmount the TM disk, only to reappear when its remounted.
I have tried using the option key, secure empty trash etc. and the same error appears...
I realize I have done a bad thing - but I deleted files this way previously and didnt have a problem
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Okay. I have read a lot about this & still am a little unsure about what this solution actually does.
Like some others, I have simply added a folder (NOT A PARTITION) in my external HDD for the backups.
I noticed I was low on space one day & dragged a load of old backups to the trash.
Nothing in the time machine blurb inferred I should do it any other way & OS X is usually pretty intuitive.
Will this solution get rid of just the trashed files or will it destroy everything on the whole HDD?

From the Finder menu select 'Secure Empty Trash'. If this or the suggestion above doesn't resolve the problem take a look at the various suggestions in this link:

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have dragged soem of my Time Machine folders into the Trash. Now when I try to empty the Trash it says it cannot empty some of the files because the applicaitons are running.
What can I do to delete them and completely empty the Trash.
NOTE: the Trash is on my iMac, not the Time Machine backup drive.

Time Machine handles file deletion of its backups or you can use the Time Machine window to tell Time Machine to delete specific files: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427

I recently downloaded / installed FCP X into the same folder as a previous version of FCP before reading to NOT do that. I've trashed the older version of FCP, but now what? Has there been damage done? Should I trash FCP X and reinstall it?

Hmm. I din't have experience of the trial version - maybe it doesn't move legacy FCP.
Make a new folder (Final Cut Studio) in the Applications folder, and drag FCP there.
I have also found that the sound effects in FCP X keep disappearing and I need to re start FCP X for them to appear again. This has happened several times today.
This could be a case of a conflict with Final Cut Pro. What do you think?
I doubt it, but FCP X is a fickle application.
If moving FCP doesn't fix it, post a new topic to ask about this.

Help I have put some folders from timemachine in the trash and now I can not empty the trash can. I now realised I took the wrong action to delete these folders duh! but i canot work out how to solve the problem I now have, can anybody please tell me what action to take?

Thank you for your reply. It did not work at first, I think there was just to much stuff. In frustration I held ctlr, alt and cmd keys down then empted the trash and it worked! I had to repeat the process several times as only a few folders were delt with at a time. but now are all gone.

What is the default key command for THE COMMAND (apple) key? I seem to have changed it somehow along the way and now when I push the command key (only) it hides all open windows and shows the desk top and when I push it again it shows all windows again...I need to return to default A.S.A.P. just this one key...Any ideas? I purchased the multi-user iworks (yes back when it was new, 2009 or 2010 and recently had to replace my white imac's hard drive (but didn't pay to fix the CD drive). My iworks does not have a serial number on the box and now that my CD drive isn't working how can I reinstall this software?

I have a G5 iMac. The browser and other apps were deleted by mistake. If I had a working browser I think I could recover the other apps I need. Question is .... Where to start without a browser?
Well, go to a library or friends house & download file. Do not expand. copy to zip drive. etc.
Here is how to download iCab from the terminal. the curl command reads html page. I fished out the download link. I think you want 501. To get link, click on what download you want. In the page that comes up . Look at the http source. search for auto & copy link.

Redundant folders created in root of C drive of server and Client . I want to stop the same and want to automatically delete them from server and client .
Please let me know the solution to delete them not manually . It should not create automatically .Is there a way we can change the path of creation.

I just changed my residence to the US and now I cant register my new US credit card on itunes cause the state list doesnt match to the US states, what should I do?
Your credit card info, billing address must be the same country as the iTunes store country you registering.
For example, you can’t have a credit card from a U.S. bank with a U.S. billing address registered in the iTunes store for China.
I tried to change my payment information too, but it happened the same, I can change the information but when I get to the state part, it only shows the other country states
Remove all payment info and save it.
Then change the iTunes store country to U.S., add a U.S. credit card with a U.S. billing address.
As previously suggested, if this does not work, contact iTunes store support.

i hooked up my iphone 5 c to my computer to download my photos onto my computer and instead it downloaded all pictures on my computer to my phone and ipad in the photo gallery and now I cannot delete them. please help
Sounds like you synced the photos instead of importing the photos.
In iTunes with your device plugged in, go to the photos tab and uncheck the photos that were synced over, then sync again. This should take the photos from your coputer off the devices leaving just the camera roll.
If you have a Windows computer, go to mycomputer and right click on your device and select import pictures and video. If its a Mac computer, plug in your device and go to iphoto and select import all. -
