HT201250 Restore button is greyed out and I can't restore some of my files???? Help
I had to do a clean install on my IMAC. I backed up with time machine. I need to reinstall Word & Excel (Office), I don't have the original disks anymore. I moved and my box was lost.
How can I get my office back from time machine. It doesn't matter what file I hit on it, the restore button nevers comes on.
What am I doing wrong?

Enter Time Machine, then select what you want to restore, then control - click on it. It should give you an option to Restore To.

My ipod touch 4g is not connecting to wifi anywhere. My wifi button is greyed out and I have done everything that I can think of to fix it and nothing has worked. I habe restored it many times. I have reset my network settings and all of my settings mutipul times also. I have looked to see if there was problem with my wifi and there is nothing wrong with it. Please help. Thanks.

Same here.... No fix. Replacing is the option apparently and if you're out of warranty, you're SOL. That was as per the "Genius" at Apple.

Today, I got a message from my iphone 4 telling me that my password was expired and that I had to change it.
Now I am forced to enter a 8 character long password and I cannot turn off the password lock (button is greyed out and does not react) and I cannot change to "simple" code.
I am so upset that I am considering throwing the bloody thing to the rubbish bin
Can you help?Have a work Exchange account on your phone? These policies can be enforced by a profile installed on your phone. There is nothing you can do to change this except delete the Exchange account.

I had Copernic Desktop Search installed with an add in to Firefox. On removing CDTS it has left the add-in and the remove button is inactive ie greyed out and I can not delkete it or see the folder in the extensions. Help appreciated to get rid of it.
uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. Thank you I tried the reset again did not fix- I think I am down to calling Apple and paying for a tech - phone company says it is a software problem. I just updated to 8.1.3 - I thought the update might fix it.

Try to "Force Quit" Safari - either under the Apple menu or by holding down option-Command-esc.

I've just updated and installed Mountain Lion. I've clicked for iCloud for Mail. The correct information in the email address, Full name and Incoming mail server panes are greyed out, and I can get no further in bring my iCloud a/c online. Any ideas? Thanks.
They are grayed out because they are automatically set up whey you check Mail in System Preferences. If you didn't do that, go back and do so and your iCloud email account will be set up automatically.

hello ptbruce, you probably only selected to open (not save) the video which will download it into windows temporary folder where it gets deleted again after it has been used. <br>you could try to right-click the entry in the firefox download manager and copy the link of the source file and try if you can download it through this url again. otherwise you'll have to contact the vendor of the video to find a solution...

"Copy" is normally used when connecting a camera or card reader.
Simply copy or move folders from your external drive to your computer hard drive, then from the Organizer menu click:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
Then navigate to the new location on your internal hard drive. -
I checked my iphone and icloud is set to share my Photo Stream but from my computer with icloud 2.1.2 the Photo Stream option is greyed out and I can't select it. What to do??
Some people have fixed this by uninstalling iCloud (control panel>uninstall or change a program>iCloud>uninstall), restarting the PC, then download and reinstall the iCloud control panel for Windows: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455.

Try deleting the account and then reenter it. Be sure to remember the username and password used.

First try a simple reset by holding down the home and power button for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple, then let the device start normally. If issues still persist, you will need to restore and update the iPhone from iTunes on your pc or mac. If after the restore still grey your device may need service or replacement.
