HT201252 Mini iPad slow to start up

WWhen I press button to turn on the apple logo appears but it seems awhile before password appears. I tend to use this iPad for games downloaded for grandkids to play. I make certain the games are tuned off.

But binaries that don't load add no time at all to the process.
secondly since the system loads localisation files during boot (keyboards and languages) it will help the boot to slim them down ..
Nope. Localisation files are loaded only as needed. Internationalized applications contain separate resources for each localization they support in language-specific project directories (the .lproj folders) in the application's bundle. Those folders contain of all the nib files, text, images, and sound files appropriate for that language, but unless a user chooses to work in that language, they are not loaded. The developer libraries explain this in great detail. If you re interested, Internationalization Programming Topics: Internationalization and Localization is a good place to start.
For the details of the boot process itself, try System Startup Programming Topics: The Boot Process.

  • My mini ipad will not start up at all just black screen

my ipad will not start up

Tap the word Genius Appointment in Kappy's answer, it's a link. Or you can call the nearest Apple Store.
Try a reset first. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.

can anyone please help mini ipad won't start just as usb cable pointing to itunes logo on screen,it was working fine

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

That could be a hardware problem with the screen digitizer but first try these troubleshooting steps in this order:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.
See here for more details on restore: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
If none of these work your device may have developed a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/contact/

IPad 1 slow to start. Any fixes?

My iPad 1's slow response really annoyed me, specifically on Safari.  This weekend I spent a lot of time reading various discussions dating back a couple of years.  I was so frustrated I "restored" my iPad to an out-of-the-box condition and re-registered the iPad (but still with the last 5.1.1 iOS).
This helped until I restored the iPad getting much of my data transferred back (except my movies, books, and music, which took up a lot of memory and I didn't use much from the iPad, for now).  My iPad was slow again.
I turned off most or all Notifications and ICloud functions (from System).  I'll turn them back on later to see how they affect speed.  I did keep Find My iPhone (iPad) on.
Here's what seemed cure my problem.  BOOKMARKS BAR.  This entire section I had synced with my iPad.  It was packed with many duplicates of bookmarks from several years.  I tried manually deleting the bookmarks within the iPad but it was taking hours to do so one-by-one.  There were hundreds, perhaps thousands.
I went back to my Mac Mini base station and deleted all of them, including many prepacked folders and individual bookmarks/web addresses.  I then synced my iPad again with the box checked in iTunes to replace the bookmarks in the iPad with the (now empty/zero) Bookmarks Bar in my Mac Mini.
My Safari responsiveness returned.  I just did this less than an hour ago, but so far, I'm happy.
Yes, I'll need to manually add back my bookmarks as I go, but I can remember mostly what I'll use on a daily basis or I can just research them again as if it was the first time going to a website.

  • New apple mini ipad 3 start up issues

My wife bought the new apple min ipad3 and on start up and set up, (today) she got this:
    [email protected]
Now when she opens it and wants to log in that is the first apple id she sees. Whilst  she can cancel that and go into her own ID it feels wrong.
Anyone come across this. Presumably the apple ipad was made in China and this is Chinese . But is it safe and why is it there?
We have contacted apple but wanted to throw this one to the community to get some views.
    Cheers

It's ok these link seems to be the ones that I need to follow:

This is not possible. Apple does not support downgrading.

I started to do the latest update to iOS7 in my iPad mini and it froze the screen at the area Apple ID security where it asks for "Add Security Question".  I press the next icon, and nothing happens.  The screen is frozen there and I can't get out.  I can go no further forward nor can I be back.  It's just stuck.  This has rendered my mini iPad useless.  What can I do?

If I need to back-up every hour of my life in order to be able to save everything from something like this I won´t do anything else.....at least we should be able to trust that Apple tests this updates so situations like this won´t happen.
That's exactly what Time Machine does for you.  It backs up every hour, so you don't have to.  While it is backing up, you keep on working.  Time Macvhine came with your Mac and you chose not to use it.
The 10.7.4 update did not cause your hard disk to fail.  Hard disk fail due to mechanical causes.  They are extremely reliable, but that doesn't mean every hard disk will last a long time.  Your mileage WILL vary!
If you are dependent on your computer and the data stored on it, then you should make sure you have AT LEAST two copies of all data and probably three or four.  You should use at least two means of backing up in case the backup software has a problem.  And you should consider having a backup computer if you live in an area where replacement takes too long (whatever too long is for your business).
Apple hardware and software is very, very good.  You have documented your experience of this.  But NO hardware or software is perfect.  You also have experience of this.
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your system is set up to protect your data and availability of computing resources.

  • HT1535 I just started my new mini IPad, and when I clicked the network, my connect to iTunes went off, now I can't move on or get that connect to iTunes back on the screen so that I keep going

IT is so frustrating, because I cannot go further without being connected to iTunes..it's a brand new mini IPad, and I gave the network and then the iTunes thing to press to connect disappeared...HELP!

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Mini ipad black screen and wont start even after reset

My mini ipad went black. I tried pressing power button and home button simultaneously for more then 10 seconds and didn't work. Tried plug onto a charger for more then 10 minutes also didn't work. Tried both simultaneously also didn't work. Thanks for any assistance. Btw, my check with apple websites said the mini ipad is no longer under warranty.

    Hello, Shaiful Affandi.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your device will not power on and you have some troubleshooting steps with the issue persisting.  There are just a couple more steps that I could recommend in the article below.

  • HT1414 My mini iPad will not respond.  It started giving me problems when I signed up with Sprint.  I'd like to cancel sprint.  They're no good.

MY mini iPad will not respond.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • TS3274 Unable to connect to wi fi with mini IPad wi fi is working with other IPads?

Unable to connect to wi fi with mini iPad? All other iPads are able to connect. Not sure what to do?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
