My IPad2 just got fixed at the Apple Store, but it looks like they loaded up the latest iOS. When i got it home and mated it to ITunes(MacBook Pro), I was prompted to load the latest OS into my main computer which now runs on OS X version 10.5.8...how do i get the latest OS so i can get the latest iTunes and am i looking at problems with the MacBook buy leap frogging so many OS's?

Install it, update to OS X 10.6.8 using Software Update, and then you'll be all set with iOS 7.

Carriers lock phones. Only Carriers can unlock them. Contact the carrier to whom your phone is locked. See if they allow unlocking, and if they do, what the qualifications are.

THank you Ogelthorpe. When my wife's computer I went on line to the site that you sent and tried everything But nothing worked. When my son came to visit and his MacBook Pro did exactly the same thing we became suspicious - too much of a coincidence. We took both computers somewhere else, out of our apartment, and they both booted. We ran disk utility on both, but the report in both cases was that there are no issues with the hard drive. Back in our apartment neither will boot up. My MacBook Pro is a later model with a solid state drive and it seems to work fine here.. I tried an external drive and it works fine. We think that this has something to do with some kind of magnetic interference in our apartment to which the 2009 drives are susceptible. It is indeed a mystery!

You have the iPhone in your profile, but people's profiles here are often incomplete or very outdated. It's better to be specific. And part of the problem is that I can't find any Belkin composite cables for connecting an iPhone to a TV, either on the Apple Store or the Belkin site. The closest I found is this Belkin video cable, which doesn't specify exactly what kind of connection it is.

How can I play music on my macbook pro (OSX Lion) through a Pioneer receiver? I've connected them with a mini display port to HDMI cable with audio support bought at the Apple Store, but there's no sound coming through. There are 4 HDMI-in ports on the receiver - BD, DVD, DVR/BDR and audio. In my system preferences for sound, the receiver doesn't show up as an output option. Can anyone please advise. For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver. Use something like this:

It should not be allowed that people put a fake app and charge money for it. That is bad busienss practice and damages Apple more than any body else. I only lost 1 dollar but will cost Apple much more since it made an unhappy customer who will say about her bad experience to at least 10 other people. -

I have recently got a new iphone 5 and I dropped it on to the rug on top of wooden flooring and the screen is now cracked. I have made an appointment at my nearest apple store but i still have to travel quite a bit. Will apple replace this phone or send mine away? I don't want to travel for nothing.
If you are in the US ,some Apple genius bars are replacing screens at this time if your local store isn't offering that service or you are not in the US there will be an out of warranty exchange unit for $229

I bought an iPod on the apple store online and checked everything before submitting the order. However when I got the conformation email the delivery address is not what was set. Now apple have all their offices closed today (typical), is there any way of contacting apple in regards to this matter as I do not want the order to be processed as if it does then there is nothing they can do IIRC.I think your goal is to speak to a person. So I would call 1-800-myapple and select the option to get a sales person, not a service person. +Service for an existing order+ may be closed on the weekend, but I can't believe they would be closed over the weekend for a +new sale+. That would be like closing the local physical Apple Store on weekends.

I did not have my backup with me when my hard drive failed and was replaced at the Apple store. Now it will not download to my new hard drive. A message says that "the volume has the worng case sensitivity for a backup". How can I resore my data from the backup?
