Hi,
I am looking for the Library/receipts in Version 10.6.8. I am doing a reinstall of FCP7 and it recommend to delete the FCP pkg file before reinstall.

Packages are no longer maintained in that folder. The only viable item in /Library/Receipts/ should be the InstallHistory.plist file. All previous packages should be gone from there. The bom and plist files associated with installations are now stored in /var/db/receipts/. Contact FCP for details on what to remove from there.

I am not using it in a "professional manner". Even I need to know who I sent that particular photo to and when and by the way, who are you to define what Apple meant by the design of its software? I think you overstep yourself here. I also think Apple has made every effort to lead people to believe that it serves a dual purpose as a personal as well as business tool. I don't need sarcasm from you or anyone when I am trying to learn that which is hidden (or absent) in the software. Being professional does not necessarily mean for a "business", but rather the level of sophistication and usefulness in the product.

Are Library/Receipts files needed?

I have a lot of files in my HD/Library/Receipts directory that are taking up a lot of space. Is it OK if I delete them?

I would not recommend it. Among other functions, the receipts tell Software Update what's been installed on your computer. If there are receipts for software you know you've deleted, you can safely delete those, but you should leave all the others.

Where are the old versions of adobe Reader?

the latest version of the reader 8 does not work on my mac. So i want to install an older version like 6 or 7. But I have spent 1/2 hour looking in the adobe site and there is no link to older versions download. Does anyone know where they are?

Where are Library Pictures

I'm trying to understand how Aperture places photos. I imported my iPhoto Library and images from camera. No images are in my library, is that normal? Instead, images are placed in projects and folders. I thought projects and folders would reference images in the library, much like iPhoto or iTunes (such as playlists).
If I import a few photos from camera I don't want a project but I do want images available for future projects.
I've set my library location to a second hard drive. Initially, the library was set to the default. Once I imported my iPhoto library I moved it to a second hard drive and set it as my library location. Could this have caused my problem of images not showing up in the library?

Aperture stores all of its images in projects. They are part of the library and you can have as many as needed. You can also have albums, folders, books, etc. within the projects to keep everything contained. It's possible and quite easy to create a very well organized hierarchy of your photo collection. This is a different concept than iPhoto but works well once you get used to it. The photos in projects are similar to rolls in iPhoto as deleting one from the project will remove it from the library and other place it's used (albums, books, etc.)
You can still view all photos in the library using the built-in views at the top of what was considered the source pane in iPhoto.

Since October 2014 Verizon has ceased to send receipts for my pre-paid services and documentation of these financial transactions. I literally have to contact support every month for a copy of my receipt. Support tells me today that I must call monthly to get my financial receipts for service as they are no longer being sent unless you are part of "contract services". So for the 3+ years I have had my iPad and automatically receiving receipts for services I have to call for them. This sounds more like customer inconvenience vs. customer service. I am also told I cannot be listed as an ACCOUNT OWNER to view this information on my online account as that is also part of "contract services" and not available to the common-ers.
Verizon- this is NO WAY to conduct business by telling your customers they have to call for a receipt each month. WHY would you change your processes of sending receipts automatically and STOP sending them and NOT make them available online? Is this really your level of customer service you provide now???? Shameful and seems shady. It is great you have ZERO problems taking my money automatically yet you cannot provide a receipt in the year 2015?

Receipts often take a couple of days to arrive, and sometimes longer. If it's been several days since a purchase and you haven't gotten a receipt, check any anti-spam filters on your email account or in your email application and see if they might be blocking emails from Apple.
Note that you can always see records of your purchased by signing into your iTunes Store account and viewing the Purchase History.

Where are the older BIOS versions gone?

A few weeks back, I've upgraded the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1001sq to the latest version (F66). I noticed that the laptop is running considearbly hotter since then and I want to revert to an older BIOS version. When I go to the updates page on the HP website and click on "older versions available" I can only see the F66 version on the page I'm directed to ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-115746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4... ), although a long list with many versions was available till recently. Where are the older versions gone?

Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
Since your notebook does have the UEFI Diagnostics installed, you should be able to rollback to the previous version that was installed. Use the firmware management option to do that.

How can I find out where the Library files currently used by iTunes are located?

I have had a bit of a nightmare sorting out my iTunes files so I have various versions of Library files all over the place. How can I tell where the Library file that iTunes is currently using is located? In Preferences I can see the Library "Name", but I don't think that is much help. Preferences also shows where my i-Tunes media folder is but not where the Library files are.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Ah, I was assuming you would search in Finder and display some details. All alternative approach is to Option start iTunes and click the Choose option. It should show a file selection box targeted at the folder of the currently active library.

ITunes crashing caused by differen versions in Library/Receipts..??

I am also encountering FREQUENT crashes of iTunes while using different functions....
In response to one of the people posting a message I noticed that I have 2 different versions of iTunes in my Library/Receipts folder-an old iTunes.pkg version 4.8 and the newest iTunesX.pkg version 7.0.1...
Could this be the problem causing the crashing, or, as I have read many messages, does it exist from the new version ?

These are the system requirements of iWOW:
Mac OS X 10.2 or later
OS X 10.2 and iTunes 6 or better
Will not run on specific combination of iTunes 7 with OS X 10.3.9
Will not run as intended on OS X 10.4.8
Because of the last line, I haven't installed and tried it.
I've read and replied to some posts of people who had difficulties after the evaluation period of iWOW expired and wanted to get rid of it.
Did you use the accompanied Uninstall application to get rid of it?
It may otherwise have left pieces that interfere with iTunes and cause it to crash.
That 'Uninstall' app. is a run-only script, so I can't look into it to see what it exactly does.
If you didn't run that Uninstall app., it might be a good idea to run it now.
I don't expect re-installing iTunes to solve the problem, but you never know.
Remove the 'iTunesX.pkg' file before doing that and also trash the iTunes application, so the Installer will install a complete 'fresh' app. and not just update components.
Re-installing iTunes will not affect your library or library files.
If you still experience crashes, click 'Report' and save the report. I'm not good in reading crash reports, but it contains information about the thread that crashed and the components involved. Someone might be able to detect the culprit.
As a last resort, perform an 'Archive and Install' of OS X. This will install a complete fresh system folder, but retain most of your personal settings.
I's a good idea to have a backup of at least your Home folder before doing that.

Authoring Tool - Where are the updated MPs for the Library After Applying Update Roll Ups

Fairly recently, I took a client to SCSM 2012 R2 UR3. Today I dropped by to do some work for them on custom MPs, and when I attempted to open them with the SCSM 2012 R2 Authoring tool, I could not, because the 7.5.3079.148 MPs (UR3 version) are not in the
library. I have searched high and low to locate these MP files to drop them into the library, but I am coming up empty handed. Where are the .MP files? I am aware that we can just directly alter the referenced MP version number in the MP itself, but I want
to know where do we actually find these correctly versioned files for the authoring tool.

The iPhoto library should be in your user folder/Pictures unless it was moved.

I am working on research the use of Adobe Interactive Forms in the current processes of HCM ESS MSS.
We are on ECC5.0, EP7.0, and ESS MSS SP21. We are in the midst of upgrading to ECC6.0.
Do you know where Web Dynpro Java version of Adobe Forms are used in ESS MSS are used? OR are they all in Web DYnpro ABAP version in ECC6.0?

adding backing vocals is a feature, I can't find them or how to do it.
The backing vocals are software instruments, listed in the "Choir" section of the software instrument browser. Afaik, the basic GarageBand does not have these instruments. My "choirs" all came with the JamPacks. The JamPacks are no longer sold separately, but if you buy Mainstage 2, you will get all Jam pack instruments and loops to be used with GararageBand; and it is not very expensive (~23 € at the AppStore).
