HT201263 I did a factory reset on my iPhone and it won't restore from the apple logo, HELP!!!!

DId a factory resent on my iPhone and it now won't restore itself from the apple logo even when I hold down the "on" button and the "home" button together

Next time, remember to first turn iMessage & FaceTime off, delete the iCloud account, then restore/reset the phone. To fix, if you setup a support profile with Apple, you can login to your support profile & remove the phone. If not, change your Apple ID password.

  • I just bought a jail broken iPhone and then did a factory reset on it. Now it won't get passed the loading screen. Is there anything I can do without the jail-breaking software?

When I bought it it was working just fine. There was no sim in it when I got it. I went into the settings and reset the phone back to factory. The phone rebooted itself and now, when the loading symbol is done loading, it goes away for a second and then is right back. It just keeps rebooting over and over until it's dead.
My computer won't find it and the charger isn't charging it anymore.

Possibly... but per the terms of use of these forums, discussion of jailbroken devices is not permitted.

  • HT2731 My daughters iPad has just been factory restored from the apple shop, she was on my iTunes account with her email address but now she is the correct age for her own account. We have started up the iPad and with trying to create her own with her own

My daughters iPad has just been factory restored from the apple shop, she was using my iTunes account with her email. When trying to create her own iTunes as she is the correct age it has come up that her email is already being used. How do we  do this with he same email address

    Hello spooner68,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to create an Apple ID for your daughter.  Because her email address is associated with your Apple ID, you are receiving the message that the email address is in use.
To remedy this, you will have to first remove her email address from your account using steps 1-3 of the section titled "How to add an additional email address that is already associated with another Apple ID" in the article below and then attempt to create her Apple ID with her email address:
How to add an additional email address that is already associated with another Apple ID
If you have an email address that is already associated with another Apple ID, you may need to remove it from your other Apple ID before you can add it to your preferred Apple ID.
Sign in to My Apple ID with the Apple ID that has the email address already associated with it.
Find the email address that you want to move to your preferred Apple ID, then click Delete.
Click Save Changes, then click Sign Out at the top of the page.

  • I reset my whole ipod and while reloading its stuck on the apple symbol

Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
Failing this I would take it in for service.

  • Did a factory reset on my phone and the screen is now stuck with apple symbol

I have done a master reset/restore facoty settings on my iphone and am now stuck on a screen with the apple icon

I had that same thing happen to me when I was updating my iPhone to iOS 5! What I did was I just kept resetting and resetting and holding down the home and power buttons until 3 in the morning. (ok, maybe it was only midnight but it sure FELT like 3 AM!) Anyway, I would just keep at it until it decides it wants to cooperate. Mine eventually did.

  • I updated my iphone 4 but now it just flashes the apple logo? i also can't reset as the lock screen button doesn't work...

im assuming im going to just need to go to the apple store and get it fixed?

    Was the iPhone factory unlocked?
If so then do a search of these forums for the fixes for Sim card errors; there are a few people with ideas on how to fix it.
If it was unlocked after you bought it, then you will not be able to update the software.
And it will have been Jail broken, which cannot be discussed on this forum.

  • Macbook 2008. Did an erase and install from install disk that came with the mac but now it won't move pas the Apple logo with spinner.

My Macbook was running slow and kept giving me error codes so I figured the easiest thing to do would be to erase it and do a fresh install. But now, after installing with the disk 1, it won't move past the grey Apple logo screen.
I've done disk repair and verified and there seems to be no problems.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks

  • HT1363 i have an 8GB ipod touch, it's pretty old now. I've recently tried to reset the whole device as it is being given to someone else and it only comes up with the apple logo and then the screen turns off again. none of the above is helping?

I've recently tried reseting the whole Ipod and it came up with an on-screen message saying ''are you sure you want to reset the device? it will take up to an hour and no music or pictures will be restored'' so i clicked ''Yes, Rest'' (or what ever it said). I am now sitting here 24 hours later with an ipod that won't turn on.
i have tried holding the 'power' button down along with the 'home' button for 30 seconds etc.. and nothing is working; it won't show up on Itunes niether the computer. why won't it turn on?

If you did not try any items listed here, try them

  • HELP I did a factory reset on my dv7-6195

Please help.I did a factory reset on my laptop. and following instuctions i backed up my files onto an go-flex external drive.Im assuming it backed up programs as well as libraries ..documents etc...its on g local disc.when i view the drive i just see a bunch of numbers so i really dont know how to get the desired files back on my computer.i did a paste and copy of the drive but it just copied it back on to the drive. so oviously im a complete novice w everything computer. with having a factory reset the files they ask me to backup...cant be added{ recovered} because the manager says no back up has been performed so i know im doing something wrong.there an option to include the folders-files in the library would that make the files more discript ? then i can move them to their appropriate locations..including back onto the external drive..this is all guess work..and finally im under warranty and have total care as well...im running windows 7..thank you in advance. oh and something went amiss when the copy was made but one window covered the other window to see what happened to the file.

Usually there is one .EXE file within the backed up files, Restore.exe or similiar, that can be double clicked to run and it extracts the files to a folder on your C drive.

  • HT201412 ok i did the new update and now my phone wont even start up! the apple logo comes up then the screen will flash and the phone will shut off. any ideas?

as listed in the title, my phone just flashes on me no start up just flashes from the apple logo to shutting off and back and forth i did the update this afternoon (9-26-2012) and it still wont start up!!!

Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

  • HT1430 When i chose the option to reset my settings, the iphone just shows the apple logo and wont reset or do anything

how can i reset my iphone?  I chose to reset my settings and all I see now is the apple logo, but does't want to reset.

    Try this reset ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, restore  the device > iTunes: Restoring iOS software
