Hi
My ipad 4 went blank after an update pertaining to some update.
i had updated to iOS7 but today there was another update after which my ipad went blank.
i have tried to reset it but it does not respond at all and the scrren is blank.
kindly help

If you explain what you mean by "I tried to reset it" that would probably helpful. That word "reset" is used so loosely on this forum, so if you could state exactly what "reset" you performed, that would be a good starting point.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Thansk for the reply King_Penguin...let me elaborate and see what you think...I had the ipad2 in the office and saw the battery was getting really low. I tried charging it with the iphone charger (connects to my pc at work). It took a while, but it got enough juice in the ipad2 to bring it back to life. when I got home, I hooked it up, and got to about 50%. All was fine, then I was attempting to hook it up to my TV with the AV adapter (or VGA adapter, whatever it is), left the ipad alone for a minute, came back to it, and that's when it went dark. I tried the home/sleep buttons, but only for about 5 seconds...any other suggestions in case that doesn't work? Thanks again...

Could be the battery is completely drained?
Use the charger that came with the iPad. Plug the charger into a known good wall outlet and connect your iPad. Let it charge for at least an hour. Then, while still connected to the charger, reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the iPad starts, fine. Let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%. If it does not charge make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I was successful in upgrading to iOS7 on my iphone 4s but then while browsing the screen went blank. With a blank screen, I can not turn off - should I reset?

you are aware that while Applejack worked great on our PowerMacs, it had to be updated for Intel and also that you would now need versions of anything that are Snow Leopard compatible.
Seeing it was running or had 10.4.6+ minimum, that could mean that the disk drive is also just as old. Not that it died, I still keep some around for backup and such going back even further.
But did you ERASE the hard drive with SL DVD before installing? that way works better as there are changes in disk structure and partitions and works better than not doing so, and definitely better than an upgrade in place. Setup Assistant can help immport what you need.
You might want to clone the system to a new drive anyway now that it does boot. You can do so with the DVD and DU Restore, or with SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner. CCC is no longer 'free"/shareware but has been improved and supports Lion+ much better, and easy to use to selectively copy - like to not move non system, and move those to a data-only drive.

Ipad lost wifi after ios7 update but works when close to signal.

Ive read lot of posts that have the same issue as mine except for one difference. My ipad will reconnect if I am very close to the router or my range extender.
I have had three years of faultless use from my ipad and it lost wifi and bluetooth connectivity immediately after updating to ios7.0.4.
Ive tried all the usual remedies as in updating the router firmware, resetting the ipad, switching wifi on and off etc. All to no avail.
Unfortunately it still wont find a wifi signal where all my other apple and samsung gear will find multiple signals easily.
I found out that if im within 20cm of my range extender or within 2-3 metres of my asus router i get about 2 bars of signal and it works accordingly. If I move beyond that range my signal drops out.
Ive ordered a new Wifi antenna but wanted to know if anyone else has got some ideas prior to me fitting it.

I took the ipad for a drive to see if it could find a signal.
My Samsung S4 was continuously picking up new Wifi signals but my Ipad didnt find a single one.
So I went into my local computer shop and got within two metres of their wifi antenna and got a 2-3 bar signal. I literally took one big step away from it and I lost the signal and it wouildnt return until I approached the aerial agian.
The computer tech just laughed and said thats Apple for you.
What I cant work out is that it had been perfect in all conditons for years until the ios7 update.

Did you try the download over-the-air or using iTunes? The download is huge ... have you waited sufficient time?
Anyway if the reset failed, try recovery mode as follows. You may have to try to get into recovery mode more than once to succeed:

If you have a choice, try using iTunes on your computer to download iOS 7.

Ive been through various threads on here.
There has been quite a few things said and some people are having luck with.
Reset all your settings works, but only once. when you shut down and open back up same problem.
Ive tried changing how my cookies respond, this doesnt work either.
My app store loads in a second, fastest its ever been.
Ive noticed that when your in settings and click on something eles it takes maybe a second or two before it changes to the next screen something thats never happened on 6
it seems very laggy and slow on somethings and super fast on others
Come on Apple get yer finger out and sort this out soon, its you thats loosing my cash as I cant buy any music!!!

Yes, I've tried everything, logged in and out of everything, re-synced the ipad....settings ar ethe same on both devices but the ipad does not message and the phone does.

Wait and try back in a bit. There seems to be some issue with the servers, likely very heavy traffic.

If you have the 1st generation iPad, you can't get iOS 6 and later.

IPad series one is totally restored to original software I cannot see software update in general. If I click on software on iTunes account it will not allow me.
