HT201263 iphone has completely dead, it wont connect to power supply or PC and won't re charge

My iphone 4 has completely died - it wont connect to the power supply, wont connect to PC nothing - any suggestions ??

Maybe the fact that it's dead has something to do with it...?
If a reset didn't work, make an appointment at the Genius bar and let them look at it.

One of the most common complaints we are hearing from users is that they have been unable to access wi-fi and Bluetooth after installing iOS7.
Here are a few things you can try:
    - Change the name of your device
The new operating system seems to have an issue with apostrophes. At least when it comes to wi-fi.
Check out your device name. If it is called something like “Claire’s iPhone” it could be the apostrophe that is causing the problem.
To change your device name go to Settings > General > About > Name. Tap on the name to edit it and remove the apostrophe. Save the change. Switch off your phone and then switch it back on again.
    Your wi-fi should be working.
We have no idea why this seems to work but many users in Apple’s community forums have said that it works.

  • Help...!!!! After down loading the latest software version 5.0 my iPhone went completely dead. I can't switch it on... It's completely dead. What do I do..?

Can someone help please..? After down loading to the latest software verssion 5.0. My iPhone went completely dead. Can't swith on any more. What can I do?

Hi, thank you very much for your reply. No my phone was never been jailbreak-ed. Never been dropped in water or in any wet surface. Dropped on the floor while texting yes, but it was just a one time incident, last year august i can clearly remember, but after that no more (phone still works fine even after.) restored the phone again earlier, but problem still occured. Will try to go to Apple also to ask and have it checked.  Just worried because my phone is already out of warranty. Will keep you posted. Again, thanks. If you have any more advice just let me know. It would mean a lot.
    Cheers,

    Try this First...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

I followed this guy's instructions and it worked:

I did disable the security (AVG and Zone Alarm) when I tried on my own PC. My wife's laptop which eventually got it working also uses AVG and Zone Alarm but on an XP O/S whereas my PC is Vista - maybe this is why.

'Locked' can have two meanings. It can mean locked to a specific carrier (service provider); if you want to unlock it to use it with another carrier only the original carrier can unlock it.
More likely you are talking about the other meaning, where a phone is 'Activation Locked'. Is this a second-hand (used) phone? If it is, and the previous owner has set up Activation Lock, this will prevent you doing anything with the phone at all.
If this is the case, only the previous owner can unlock it, either by giving you his Apple ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices - details here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515
If you can't contact the previous owner to get him to do this you will be unable to use the phone. Only he can unlock it: Apple cannot do it for you.
On the other hand, if it is a new phone and you have managed to set up a passcode (though this is nothing to do with iCloud) please see this Apple Help page:

This has been an issue since installing new IOS! How long will it take apple to come up with a fix. My carrier offered me an early upgarde at a massively inflated monthly cost (how kind of them!).

  • HT5219 I have a macbook air (mid 2012) and a thunderbolt display. Do I absolutely need to connect the power supply together with the thunderbolt cable ? I found that the screen won't wake up if only the thunderbolt connection is plugged.

    I have a macbook air (mid 2012) and a thunderbolt display (27'').
Do I absolutely need to connect the power supply together with the thunderbolt cable ?
I found that the screen won't wake up if only the thunderbolt connection is plugged. Is this normal ?

I just got my ATD and late 2011 MBP up and running. I've not tried running without the power adapter from the ATD plugged in, but I just tried and didn't have any problems with the display not waking. You may want to take your query to the ATD forum - https://discussions.apple.com/community/peripherals/thunderbolt_display - perhaps someone there has experienced a similar issue.
    Good luck,

  • Our Century Link Modem/Router supplied at set up, has poor range. It is in the kitchen ( main level ) and won't reach our studio fully at 30-40ft away. Will setting up my time capsule i the studio improve this signal?

Our Century Link Modem/Router supplied at set up, has poor range. It is in the kitchen ( main level ) and won't reach our studio fully at 30-40ft away. Will setting up my time capsule in the studio improve this signal? If not, what can I do!???

Will setting up my time capsule in the studio improve this signal?
Yes, if the Time Capsule remains connected to your Century Link modem/router using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection.
Any other option will involve the purchase of more hardware.
One option would be to keep the Time Capsule connected to the modem/router using a short Ethernet cable, and configure the Time Capsule to provide a wireless network.  Add an AirPort Express about half way between the kitchen and the studio to wirelessly extend the signal from the Time Capsule to provide a much stronger signal in the studio.
Another option might be to use a wireless repeater that is compatible with the modem/router. Century Link might have a solution, or be able to recommend a compatible device for that purpose.

  • My MacBook Pro will not powerup (even when connected to power supply).

My MacBook Pro will not powerup (even when connected to power supply). The caps lock key is the only light on.

    Hi PatB11902,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your MacBook Pro does not seem to power on, but the caps lock key will light up when you press the caps lock key, you are likely seeing a video issue.
There are several steps that can help troubleshoot this behavior, found at this link:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays - Apple Support
    Start with these steps:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Start up in Safe Mode.
If your Mac does not start up normally after these steps, here are some additional tips that can help:
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on - Apple Support
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.
If you are still unable to start up your computer after trying each of these steps, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for further diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).
Note: Diagnostic fees may apply for issues not covered under warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP).
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

  • To connect a Power Supply over RS-232 in LabView

    Have a nice day,
dear friends, I have done some basic programs before in LabView, my project is now to connect Agilent E3631A DC Power Supply serially and sending/recieving data(my aim to change input voltage from the computer without touching the hardware device).
I actually already connected the Power Supply to my computer ,I also downloaded driver of it from Agilents web site.
So the only thing is now to establish the connection in LabView.
hmmm. can you please tell me what to do now ? I have no idea if I should choose VISA or DAQ or sth else.. how can I let the LabView to send a new voltage to the hardware.
    With best wishes

After installing LabView 7.0 and VISA Now I have concrete questions. Do I need some more program to install ? ( drivers I already found from ni.com )
You should have everything you need to do serial communications installed. The drivers you downloaded should help you get started with your applicaition, so I'd install them as well.
first of all I installed LabVIEW Evaluation version 7.0 , and I can`t open sources which are written with ver. 7.1 , how can i handle this problem ? ( because somebody sent me some codes which are written in 7.1 and I definetely want to see them )
You can save VIs to the previous version only. So will need to have somebody save the code to 7.0 for you.
second; should I use VISA or IVI ? whats the difference between them ?
At this point, I wouldn't worry about IVI. The drivers you downloaded are probably "IVI Drivers" but use VISA to communicate with your instrument. If you want to know a bit more about IVI in general, just do a search on ni.com for "IVI".
third; lets concider that I use VISA . From the IO Config menu, I choose COM 2 and VISA interface name is than ASRL2(automatic). And than from VISA Assistant, I choose the place of the driver of my Power Supply. Up to now everything seems to be ok. what is the next step after here ? Do i forget some configurations?
The first step is to initialize the port and instrumnet. If you look on your functions palette from the block diagram, there's a sub palette named "Instrument I/O" and a sub palette of that one named "Instrument Drivers". In this drivers palette, you should see a palette for the drivers you installed for the power supply. There should also be a sub palette in there named "Applicaiton Examples" that can help you get started. There should be one or two examples that will allow you to control the power supply, and you should be able to open the block diagram and see how it's put together.

  • TS1398 My iphone 5 has suddenly decided it wont connect to wi fi network,

I've had this issue a couple of time before but usually switching it off an on again fixes it, this time it still wont connect.
Any ideas how to fix it, ive tried turning router on and off, other people with the same phone and ios can connect but i cant.

Try first, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    If no joy, try
    Settings > Wi-Fi > select you wi-fi SSID > Forget this Network.
Now do manually key in your Wi-Fi SSID and password. (Do not use the automatic wi-fi list)

  • Iphone 4 completly dead

doesn't charge, May be dead battery, constantly problems since thursday. First no sim card then a brick. This is a bad apple!

Connect your device to a mains charger, and press and hold both the lock (on/off switch) and the home button at the same time. Keep holding these two buttons until you see a faint empty battery/charging battery icon on your iPhone's screen. Once this appears, release the buttons, and leave it to continue charging. Once charged again you'll be able to use it.
Sometimes iPhones can 'freeze' in standby, which to the naked eye the device just appears locked, but all this time it's actually draining battery extremely fast, so the next time you go to use it, it's completely dead. The above method forces the iPhone to reboot, using power from the mains, allowing it to continue charging back to a usable state.
If you don't see the charging logo appear on your device after holding the buttons, it'd be safe to assume your iPhone has some sort of hardware fault preventing it from powering on.
