My ATT Iphone 3GS keeps freezing and shutting down, now won't turn on at all. tried to do an update and restore but it froze in restore at about 20% done, waited 5hrs for it to go, it didn't. Not sure what to do or where to go (ATT or Apple) to get help, how much it could cost? HELP PLEASE!

Ok so I updated my 20G iPod with click wheel with the latest version (three point something), and now when i try to turn it on, it shows the apple logo and then has a pic of an ipod being plugged into a power adapter being plugged into a wall socket. i have reset it about 40 times and it always does the same thing. i have tried to charge the ipod with my computer but it does absolutely nothing (i dont have a power adapter). Also, when i reset my ipod WHEN IT IS PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER, it shows the "Very low battery" picture.Also, my computer does not see the iPod in "my computer" or iTunes. I have another iPod, which works perfectly on my computer. I thank anyone who tries to help me.

You must have a charge of your iPod with an ac charger, in order to complete the Restore process.

When you plug it in to iTunes does it show up under devices? Try restoring it. That's the best thing you can do if you're out of warrenty

1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you have a hardware problem.

Is the switch above the volume set for mute? Accidentally bumping that would turn down the volume.
Try Settings > General > Lock Rotation to On and see if that eliminates the problem (although beware that the switch will now control screen rotation. If sound starts working corrcetly, but your screen lock keeps setting, then I think you are having a switch problem.

IPhone 3gs V3.1.2 shuts down sometimes

Hello,
just want to double check if other users have the same problem.
My Phone sometimes like once a week will shut down ( like if i manuell shut down the phone ) its happen by for example by open a hyperlink in the mail application or listen to music and 2 times without doing anything.
I have done in total 5 restores with and without using my backup.
I also searched in Google and found some other user have the same problem.
Is this problem hardware or software related
Can i check events like in Windows to see why the phone shuts down ?

I contacted Apple , the Engineer first does not know this kind of issues after we discussed some threat like this he advised my personal to wait for the next update
but i i like he will send me a new phone

The battery died and shut down, when I powered up all my data was gone.

When the battery died on my MacBook Pro it shut down. When I powered back up the machine went back to the original startup configuration. I could not access my data. I know it is there as I ran the disk utility and it shows the drive is almost full. Can anyone help me recover my data?

My 2012 MacBook Pro fell and it now makes a clicking noise and shows a grey screen on startup. I'm afraid the hard drive is damaged. Is their anyway to still back up my hard drive even if it doesn't turn on all the way?

So my late 2012 MacBook Pro was sitting on my desk when the desk collapsed. The computer fell with it and I was quite scared at the moment, but thankfully I opened it up and it worked perfectly fine again.
I was later watching a YouTube video and pressed the back button. The screen then froze, and I could not force quit safari. Then this weird clicking noise started to happen. It was coming from the right of the trackpad. That's when I decided to force shutdown the computer with the power button.
I let it sit and then decided to turn it back on. The clicking noise then came back and there was just a blank screen on the boot up. Eventually a grey folder with a question mark started flashing on the screen. That was all it did so I decided to turn it off again.
I'm going to take it into the Apple store ASAP, but I'm curious if my hard drive is damaged and if I will need a new one, which would erase everything on my Mac. So I was wondering if there is anyway to back up the hard driver even if it doesn't boot up all the way, or turn on the computer all the way.
P.S. I have never backed up my hard drive so I wouldn't know what to do.

You may have damaged the HDD which is located in that spot. I would take it in for service.

Morning Al My issue has since been resolved after some advice from a friend. It was simple, push the optical cables in firmly until they click, however mine didnt click but there was definatley room for them to be pushed in further as if they are loose they "leak". in addition to this on the TV settings, make sure that the TV speakers are turned off

Hi. I'm having quite an issue here. My macbook screen is only lid when i boot and when i adjust the brightness of the screen (going all the way down and up from there). either way it goes black again after a few seconds. External monitor works though.

I buy the dirty theory as well. plug and unplug a whole bunch of times - you may be able to dislodge whatever is causing the issue. Also - make sure the plug is fully seated - (some of the pad jacks are vert tight, and you really have to work them in). I gather you are out of warrenty? Blow in the hole.
last resotr - take a toothpick, dip the end in fingernail polish, get rid of the xs, then very very gently, insert the pick and try to rub the contacts. very gently as you do not want to bend them.
