HT201263 not being able to get to Restore option, how can I restore?

I downloaded the instructions for re-setting or restoring. I have already tried the resetting a lot of times with nothing working. SO, trying to get to the restore. When I connect the Ipad with Itunes running, it only will sync. But there is no place to get to Summary to invoke a restore.

I can't explain why this happened to you. Sometimes it just happens. Maybe a corrupted download, or app update, loss of WiFi while downloading or updating.... I just don't know, and its likely that nobody could explain why it happens.
I have never experienced anything like this, but I NEVER auto backup or auto sync. I don't leave my devices plugged in and rely on automatic connection to iCloud and iTunes and hope that the backup and sync goes OK while I am away from my iPad. I initiate every backup and every sync on my own. If something looks like it is going wrong, I am there to deal with it as I see it happening. Having said that, I may not be able to prevent the sync or backup from crapping out, but on more than a few occasions, I have canceled syncs and backup because something didn't look right to me.
Anyway, this was probably just a fluke one time thing and if you are up and running again, I wouldn't worry about it. Just chalk it up to one of those things - and move on and enjoy your iPad.

    The only way that I currently know of that you can use to remove old / invalid email addresses is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults - which is somewhat extreme, and I assume that you don't won't to do that. You could try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future update we'll be able to edit the list : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

    Hi all, i've upgraded my package to essentials extra, and that gone through ok, but my Vision + box is still using WinCE firmware and not the firmware required to watch fox ect, when ever I try doing a master reset (OK + Down) it forrages off for new firmware, dose what it needs to do, then reboots, just to give me WinCE still... i've been through the mill contacting customer services from order management - extra channels team - tech services and they are all passing the buck... end result 3 days of trying to get this resolved, I am still none the wiser!? arghh!

    Hello everyone! My typing might not be perfect, but I would like to know if someone can manipulate my phone. Hiding numbers , can't access my accounts. My ape disappear when I download them. I'm thinking maybe some other sim card taking over. It's crazy. They don't know at apple. When I went to my voice mail it says default or make a greeting . These are usually highlighted in blue, I went to go change my greeting & it said personalized greeting in red! U couldn't hear thi personal greeting and they had never heard of anything like that. My husband said let me look at it & fixed it in 1 minute! This is driving me crazy!  I'm hoping someone can understand what's going on with my phone. Thanks ... Crystalblue19

    No, Nancy, I'm sorry it wasn't.  I was able to login to formscentral but under 'myforms' nothing is there.
    I just want to make a form in acrobat.  I never asked for 'forms central' in the first place, it just took me there.  And now it seems liek they are just trying to sell upgrades to additional features.  I am very unhappy with how Adobe has made the simple use of a product into something requiring multiple logins and web access and difficulty just saving and opening a document.  Very frustrating.  And I am paying MORE than I used to for CC now rather than just the Adobe Acrobat pro download.

  • I keep getting asked to answer security questions and I can't remember them. Apple says it's sending an email but haven't received one but as soon as I got on community I got an immediate email. It's driving me nuts not being able to get on iTunes.

    I'm trying to get on iTunes, I know my password but don't remember the security questions. It says it will send an email but haven't received one, I know email is right I got an immediate one when I got on the community discussion. Any ideas?

    Try going to id.apple.com and signing in using Manage Apple ID.  Click on the Password and Security section on the left and check the space under your security questions.  If you have a rescue email, then a button will be there that can be used to send a reset link to that email.  It will usually have the email address blanked out except for the first letter.
    The only other way to reset the questions would be to call Apple Support at 1-800- MY-APPLE and have the account security team look at your ID.  They will ask you for a temporary support pin and one other piece of secure information from the account, such as your current security questions, the credit card linked to the account, a device serial number, or a verification code that they can send to your devices.  The support pin can be gathered using the same id.apple.com page.  It is in the bottom-left corner of Password and Security.  The support pin cannot be skipped, but the second piece of information for the verification can be whatever of the options they give works best for you.
    Once they have the support pin and one other piece of information to confirm your identity, they can reset your security question without needing to send you an email.  Just sign out of appleid.apple.com while they send the reset, and when you sign back in the Passwords and Security section will change to ask you for new security questions and your birthdate.

    I have a Brand New Mac Book Pro 15 inch... I have noticed since the upgrade to lion I can't get the battery to charge to 100% and it seems to drain quicker than before.  I have the backlit key board all the way off and the screen dimmed during use on the battery, and no blue tooth activated.  Is anyone else seeing this same thing>

    I want to use numbers on my iPad mini for a team I coach. I have a spreadsheet on my mac I want to import onto the iPad mini for players to enter in wellness ratings. On this spreadsheet (on the mac) I have a conditioning formatting rule that when a player enters in their numbers the cells fill with black so others can't see their entries (to maintain privacy). Will this function import across onto iPad numbers? From the discussion I saw on this site it only partly answers my question stating "it cannot be edited" does this mean the conditional formatting rule cannot be changed and therefore will still work or the whole spreadsheet can't be edited and you can only view the spreadsheet and make no new entries to it?

    Yes, I have posted this thread to different forums after I realized that Lenovo "customer care" is not likely to help me out and even wirelessforums.org members couldn't come up with any ideas for days, that's why. I have already written that helper applications like SMAC (or etherchange or macshift) don't work, because they do the same thing in the system as I change it in the driver panel, so they use the same method which simply does not work.

Or you mean it's locked from software, because Lenovo or Broadcom didn't want their users to change their MACs or they just forgot to release a fully-functional driver? Well, then I would like to have a driver in which it's not locked, because this is a basic feature of my adapter of which the hardware is capable.

    Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
