Without more information, I have to say it sounds like the phone you have was not legitimately unlocked, but had been hacked. Updating iOS will re-lock it to the original carrier.
ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it.
Where did you get the phone?

After restating the phone goes to recover mode every time. Last time it came up with a diagnostic massage with a big apple logo saying..'we are hanging there'. I am really frustrated with Apple coz my last mobile 3GS's network circuit was so poor that I could not use that to make call. However can any one help me with my iPhone 4s problem? I've no warranty left that's why I think apple will not help me any ways.

Try changing the channel on your router to manually select & use,the highest number channel available. After I did that I no longer had the problem.

IPhone Bluetooth not working after upgrading to iOS 6.1.2

I used to pair my iPhone with my Blue&Me system in my Fiat Car and it was working perfectly hitherto. Recently I have been experiencing problems with Pairing my phone with my car Bluetooth system (Which I sometimes use for receiving calls).. The phone though identifies the car system in the discovery mode but is not able to pair and establish connection. My car Bluetooth system is working just fine with other phones. Request apple / or anyone who can help to help me overcome this issue. My car system is as important to me as iPhone and if this problem persists, i may be forced to change my phone.

In the 4+ years of using iPhone and several other apple products, this is the first time that I am feeling frustrated with my iPhone 4S and Apple. I am surprised that so many people around the world are facing the problem with their blue tooth devices after upgrading the iOS and still there is no hope of having this situation resolved. The cause of breakage of communication between iPhone (my investment, my ownership) and other devices is of apple origin and apple can't walk away by suggesting that the other party should upgrade the Bluetooth Firmware.
In my case, My iPhone 4S stopped paring with My Fiat car blue&me system after updating to iOS 6.1.2. The problem has not been solved in iOS 6.1.3.
If this problem is not solved in next update the ovious solution is to move to android as I can change my phone but I can't change my car that eaisly.

IPhone and iHome Compatibility after upgrading to IOS 5

I have an iPhone 4 which I recently upgraded to ios 5. Prior to upgrading I was able to charge the phone on the iHome. After the upgrade, it doesn't work. I tried re-setting the phone, the iHome - at first this worked and let it charge. Now it doesn't charge - still plays music fine. The phone does charge with the adapter in the wall as well as an adapter for the car which charges and plays music over the airwaves.
I upgraded my phone first and had the above. My wife has the same iPhone 4 - same thing - charged and played music fine prior to upgrading. Now it doesn't charge but plays music fine.
So, what's the deal? Any suggestions or is this a result of a problem with the upgrade softwar which needs to be fixed?

My WiFi connection works fine, but 4G from ATT gives in 0.15 mpbs download. I called up ATT several times, but they have no resolution to this problem. Everytime they ask me to reset my network connection. This is a big deal for me as I am most of the time on Cellular Data and I need to use iPhone for my work. I am thinking to roll back to iOS 5.0.1. What in this world could turn a 3G phone into a 4G phone just by a software upgrade? I just feel like I am down to a 1G phone. Apple please fix this asap and release a patch, else I may not be able to use this phone.

IPhone network connections slowed after upgrading to IOS 5.1!!

My iPhone network connections (WiFi/4G) are extermely slow after performing the update to IOS 5.1! Speedtest.Net results over 4G = 0.15 Mpbs down and 0.05 Mpbs up ans that's will FULL bars! AT&T claims that there are no network issues in my area and they are not throttling my device. Even over WiFi it's taking FOREVER to download apps from the app store, etc... What is going on????

Iphone 5s Hangs randomly after upgrading to IOS 8

I am bit worried about IOS upgrade. I am using Iphone 5s since March 2014. Till date it was working fine. But when I upgraded my Iphone from IOS 7.1.2 to IOS 8 problem starts arriving.
Symptoms : 1. The phone hangs randomly after upgrade.
2. After selecting any application , it disappear suddenly. I have to start the application again. This mostly happen when I select Setting icon
This is very much embarrassing that I am using one of the best phone in the world and it hangs automatically when I need it most.
The only resolution for hang phone is to reboot.
I upgraded to latest IOS 8.0.2 but still no improvement. I am expecting Apple team to look into this issue and resolve it. Waiting for your response.

I have 5 Iphone 5's and Ipad Air. All upgraded to ios8. Everyone locks! it is so locked you have to hold home button and power button serial times. It reboots and just shows apple. When you use Safari, or type a text message, they just get behind then lock up with half a screen or half the icons.
All my kids hate their devices now. I know Apple will fix. It is scary as i have never seen iPhones actually lock up and un-usable. this should have been caught in Beta. Perhaps Apple should get some "Real" outside normal users to beta. The ones they are using are not catching this stuff. Code is complicated, Apple has the best minds, Just keep holding the Home button and power button. Eventually it will reboot. Then close all the open apps. and don't tilt the phone sideways.
Also close all un-used webpages left open in safari. this seems to fix.
As for the Bug about lagging while texting and half screen lock ups. that needs to be fixed ASAP.
I know from building things, there is always a few hiccups. Yelling won't do anything, give Apple a chance to fix it. I love Apple, and will continue to purchase the items. The world economy is changing, suppliers are going green, thus you get cheap bendable parts too. Apple will find the middle ground and work the problem. Please all post they read these blogs.
If Apple deletes your posts and denies these problems then email Tim Cook. He does listen. Give it a week then it will all be sorted out. If apple sold iPhone 6 pluses that bend, then i am sure they will offer a replacement. Apple does care, May seem arrogant but they always come through at the end.
Hang in there, i always rush and put the update on the minute it comes out, over and over, then complain about the bugs. Better to wait a month. i am addicted to new and better and just click upgrade. My fault too. I know better after 37 years with apple.

Cannot delete Lists from Reminders app after upgrading to iOS 7. The deal is that those lists don't show in iCloud account in the Web-Browser, so I cannot delete via Browser, when I press the button Edit in the List, there is no Delete button at thebottom

On my iPhone 5, upgraded to iOS 7, the lists in Reminders are impossible to delete. When I press Edit button in the right corner of the app, the button Delete list is supposed to be at the bottom, but it's empty there, the deal is I could delete some of the lists, but most of them I can't. I tried delete iCloud account from iPhone, but they are still there, and still no Delete button. In the Browser I don't see those lists, so cannot delete them from the Browser as well. Could you help me?

I upgraded to iOS 7 and all the sudden when I go to type in my code to unlock my phone it is really laggy, when I finally get into my phone and go to use the keyboard to type a message it acts like I haven't even touched the screen when I go to type.

Unfortunately with all of the problems and such an unstable OS today is my last day using my iPhone. I love my phone and have had it on my company business account for the last 4 years but it has become so prohibitive to use as a business tool I am forced to move to the company’s Galaxy based phone. I hope at some point in the future things will improve and I can once again have my iPhone back on the company plan. Good luck all I will be rooting for you.

My phone charges super slowly after upgrading . Usually it's take about 2hours for a full charge now it's not even 60%

The iPhone will fast charge for the first 2 hours or so.. and then will trickle charge for the next couple of hours.
Try putting it on Charge Over Night... Then monitor it for next the week or so... Charging as you normally do.

Fix for my iPhone 3Gs WiFi problems after upgrade to iOS 4

Posting incase this helps. I upgraded to iOS 4 on my 3Gs while away from home and came home to find that I couldn't get a reliable connection to my home WiFi which had been rock solid when I left two weeks ago.
My network consistes of a telco supplied router & ADSL box connected by LAN to an Airport Extreme which then connects wirelessly to an Airport Time Machine in another room (actually a steel lined safe room so I have to be sure that the door is open). The Time Machine is set to act as a range extender as is an Airpot Express N I have connected to a hifi.
Well after rebooting everything and scratching my head I took a look at the wireless settings on the base Airport Extreme. *It was set to 802.11n only!* I, therefore, have no idea how my iPhone was able to connect to this up to now. *I've set it now to 802.11n (b/g compatible)* and the iPhone once again connects and re-connects without any trouble at all.
I know the 3Gs is not capable of 802.11n but I can assure you that for the last few months I haven't changed that router so it was certainly working in that 802.11n only mode on that apple router.

IMessages stuck using iPhone 6 temporary number after upgrade

Hi all,
I've just updated from an iPhone 5 running iOS 8 to an iPhone 6.
There was a 24 hour period when my Orange (UK) 3G contract ported over
to my EE (UK) 4G contract, which requires a new SIM. In that time, I had
a temporary number.
Now, the problem is that iMessages appears to send texts from that
number. My mobile number has ported back across (I can confirm this by
doing a voice call) but when sending texts they appear to come from the
temporary number.
I have gone into the iMessage settings on my iPhone and selected my
original phone number to start new conversations from, but I cannot
remove the temporary number from the list.
Even worse, the temporary number is ticked but greyed out in the "You
can be reached at..." section so I can't deselect it from there either.
How do I remove this random temporary number so that people who have my old number can see its me sending them texts?

Try the following:
Open Settings.
Choose Phone.
If your telephone number is incorrect, then correct it.
Navigate to the previous section.
Choose Messages.
Disable and then reenable iMessage.

CAnnot use 3G on my 3GS after upgrading to iOS4.

After updating to iOS4 I can hardly make calls or send texts using 3G after the software update. First I noticed this from my home after years of great coverage here. I spoke with ATT for an hour and we troubleshooted. They tried to call my cell but nothing (we were on a land line). FInally they suggested i switch off 3G and use only EDGE. That works fine but it is EDGE. They researched and called me back three days later but no fix. The suggested I contacted APPLE. Have not done this yet. Ideas???

if you havn't tried yet i would do a restore to factory and set up the phone as brand new.
