Well, the only solution would be if you had been syncing the contacts to a supported application on the computer or to iCloud. You can update the 3GS to iOS 6.1.3, but you could not use the backup from the iPhone 5, since it was probably on iOS 6.1.4. The sync is your only solution.

I know the info for the iPhone 4 is still available...but not sure if everything will be the same. You might be able to get your contacts on your computer from the Voyager and then sync them to the iPhone through the Cloud. Or...it might just be exactly the same as the current iPhone. That's why I was saying maybe they'll post another guide for the 4s. There might even be an owners manual PDF for the 4s already on the apple site. Not sure but if there is then some info would also be available there.

I have 2 exchange accounts configured in my iPhone, one Corp exchange account and one personal exchange account, both have Contacts sync enabled.
I noticed somehow all of new created Contacts are under Corp account, these Contacts do not show up on my iPad / Mac which only have personal account.

I can answer your second question but I share your problem related to the first question.
In answer to your second question:
To make sure that new contacts go into the desired account:
1.     Go to Settings
2.     Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
3.     Scroll down to "Contacts"
4.     Select the last item in the group, "Default Account"
5.     A list of the accounts on your iPad will appear. Select the account that you want to use for your new contacts.
If you solve the problem of moving existing contacts from one account to another, I'd love to hear about it.

and never an email client application or ISP email accounts. So, I
have gmail and a few other free web-based accounts, only.
Google offers some kind of method that may (or not) work, as noted
in their help pages online. One I found in a fast google search by topic
suggests a semi-automated approach (not sure I'd use it) here:

I have a Motorola Bravo and just got an iPhone 5 from ATT.
How can I get my contacts from the Bravo to the iPhone? I've already copied the contacts to the SIM.
ATT support shows that's the first step.
However, under the "Copy To" portion, all it mentions is how to get the contacts to the phone from iCloud or iTunes.
But, how the heck do I get them to Cloud or Tunes in the first place?

Perhaps the fastest and simplest way would be to just take both devices to the nearest AT&T corp. store and get them to do it. Then you can sync the iPhone with Contacts on your Mac (or outlook on your PC) or with iCloud to back them up for safekeeping.

When I connect N73 to my PC via the Nokia PC Suite the Contacts folder as diplayed on the PC shows the same content as the folder with my contacts on my memory card. Yet when I use the phone the Contacts icon displays only the contacts from the SIM card and there seems no way how to make it see the contacts on the Memory card.
I have tried everything I could think of but no joy. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I believe you will need to do this manually for a small number of contacts.
If you have a large amount of contacts, you could export your contacts to a USB stick on your Mac, set up a second user account on a friends Mac running Lion and log into iCloud via system prefs > iCloud,, import the contact from the USB on your friends mac and sync them.
