Trying to set up my new iphone 5c using the iTunes back up from my iPhone 4. It keeps getting stuck on step 2 of 5 "syncing calendars" Considering I hardly use the calendar I don't know why it would take so long. (18 hours and counting)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What different Apple ID? Yours? Your friends? Your dogs... ? I think we are going to need more information. You're probably best setting up the phone as a new phone and restoring from iCloud later on.

When I've tried to download from my icloud to my 5S i got an error message and my mac has updated itunes (I think). Some free advice. If your son is 8 years old, put him on your account, and set parental controls so that he cannot accidentally run up giant charges within the games.
If your son is 25 years old, get him his own AppleID and make him responsible for his own bills.
In between ... use your judgement.

how do I find the file and replace it or install it?

I'll reload it tonight when I get home...basically, I bought a new iPhone and downloaded some new medical apps. also had to download an update for iTunes into my mac laptop so I could access iCloud (which was NOT on my prior iTunes software)
When I synched my new iPhone with the newly downloaded iTunes, I registered my iphone and tried to "back it up" to iCloud and the message indicating that "the required file was not found or has a permissions error...." popped up.
How do I correct the permissions error, or...am I able to do this somewhere? Or...how do I find the file that is missing?

First backup the old phone to iTunes using right mouse click then backup after that restore from backup on the new device .

Im trying to set up my new iphone 5s by restoring from the cloud. When I get to the "choose backup" screen, i try to choose my latest back up, but nothing happens. the wring is in gray and nothing happens when I touch it. the bottum of the screen says "No icoud backups are compatibel with the version of iOS(7.0.4) on this iphone) Please help. I can't use my phone and I need to make some calls.

It sounds as if your new iPhone has iOS 7.0.4, but the backup was performed using iOS 7.1. if that is the case, here is how to solve this:
1. Upgrade your new iPhone to iOS 7.1. If it cannot yet get to Setitings, set is up as a new iPhone. Then do Settings > General > Software Update.
2. Prepare to restore the iCloud backup. The way to do this is to now do Settings > Gerneral > Reset > Erase all content and settings
3. Restore the iCloud Backup. You will now be directed through the "Hello", set up WiFi, enter your Apple ID, and choose a backup.
This will only work if your old backup used the same telephone number, cellular carrier, and Apple ID of the new iPhone.

Whenever I try to sync my 3gs to my laptop itunes only gives me two options: set up as new iphone or restore to a backup. I already mistakenly restored the phone to a previous back up and the options are still the same. I am using itunes 10.4.1.10.

Back in March my PC crashed while updating my Iphone 3Gs. Both froze and were rendered unusable. The Iphone had to be restored to factory settings in order to be used. The PC required more work and was delayed by warranty issues. In the meantime I bought a laptop and installed the newest version of Itunes. Itunes recognizes my phone but only comes up as "Set up your Iphone" with two subsequent options: set up as new iphone or restore from back up. I have mistakenly chosen the option to restore it back to July 2, 2011 when I last synced. No big deal, but it will not let me go beyond that screen and I cannot transfer my recovered apps or anything else. Any help on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How do I recover photos off the iTunes backup from my iPhone so I can put them on my new computer?

My computer hard drive recently crashed and is unrecoverable. Like a dummies we didn't have it backed up. But do I have my photos and files still on my iPhone.
So, bought a new computer with Windows 8 operating system. Went to the iTunes store and they said I just needed to plug in my phone and transfer the photo's over.
First thing I did after downloading iTunes to my new computer was do a backup of my iPhone through iTunes. Then tried to download my pictures to my computer as recommended at the iTunes store. Was only able to get the pictures off the camera roll.
On my old computer I had several folders of photos that I had uploaded to my iPhone and still show up on the iPhone but I can't seem to find them to put them back on my new computer.
Can anyone assist me with this. I hate to purchase an extractor if I don't need one. I only have one chance at this and want to make sure I do it right.

And, they told me a couldn't grab my old music files either but had to reload them all back into iTunes by hand. Bummer.

If you have iCloud and shared Photo Stream turned on, you can go into your each of your albums and do the following:
1.     Tap on Edit
2.     Tap on each photo you want to save back to your computer
3.     Tap on Share
4.     Tap on Photo Stream
5.     Tap on the unnamed Photo Stream folder just created
6.     Type in your iCloud or Apple ID email address
7.     Name the Photo Stream
8.     Tap on Next to create the shared Photo Stream album
9.     Tap on Post
10.   Tap on the new Photo Stream album
11.    Tap on Edit
12.    Tap on the photos to select them
13.    Tap on Share
14.    Tap on Save to Camera Roll
Once they are back in the Camera Roll, you should be able to import them.

I tried restarting my computer, but in opening Firefox, it did the same thing. I then tried to delete FF by dragging it from my appl. folder to trash and reinstalling using Safari. Did this several times with the same result...still get the popup window saying the same thing each time.

I can not get my new Nikon D 810 raw file to load into Lightroom. I have been doing this same thing for over a year using a Nikon D800.

when I go to add my raw files like I always have it said that it can not read these raw files. I called Nikon an was told that the raw files in the D810 are the same as the D800. Something is up.

The raw files are not the same as the D810 has a different sensor than the D800. The file layout might be the same but that doesn't mean any software that supports the D800 will support the D810. Adobe has to profile the new camera and add calibration profiles and then release an update to Lightroom. ACR 8.6 RC supports the D810, so LR 5.6 will probably support the D810 too.
