This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. My iPhone 4S was recently replaced as it had a faulty wifi antenna. The new phone no longer syncs iMessage with my ipad like the old one used to.

My iMessages were always automatically synced with my 6 monthold iPhone 4S. However the phone recently had to be replaced by apple because of a faulty wifi antenna. The new phone was restored from backup. It works fine but iMessage no longer syncs with my ipad. I've looked into the settings and can't see anything wrong? I can iMessage from my phone and iMessage from my ipad but they don't synch. Very frustrating. Would appreciate some help. My nearest spple store is 30 miles away. Thank you so much.

Can't get iTunes to recognise my iPhone 5S on iMac

Since I upgraded to Yosemite on my iMac and OS 8.1 on my iPhone 5S, I can't get my iPhone to connect through iTunes using my iMac. It just comes up with a message saying that iTunes can't connect to this device. Also every time I connect my iPhone, iPhoto springs into life, asks to import photos from my iPhone 5S but then freezes on "loading...." and nothing else happens.
I have successfully managed to connect my iPhone to my MacBook Pro since all the upgrades, so this seems to be an iMac specific issue.
Pity 'cos otherwise it was all going so well........

I have recently been given my daughter's old iPhone 3G. It has supposedely been unlocked by O2 and I have now a t-mobile sim card in it. I can ring out and receive messages but iTunes does not recognise it as a device. I have now tried entering an iPod but it is not recognised either. I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled the latest version. Still no recognition. Any suggestions please?

For whatever reasons, the "None" option is not always available to all users and I think it may be related to what country you live in. Short of contacting Apple to get it straightened out, if you haven't done anything with your new ID ye - you can create an Apple ID without a credit card and simply abandon the one that you just created.

The two big things that you have to remember for this to work are ... you have to sign out of your existing Apple ID .... Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. Then you have to try to download a free app to bring up the window that asks you to sign in or create an ID. Read the information on the website that I referenced above.
If you have not used the original Apple ID for anything yet, you can simply ignore it and use the new one - or like I said earlier - contact iTunes support and ask them to help you sort it out.

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. You cannot communicate with Apple in this forum. But to answer your question, Apple cannot track a phone for you. Only you can track it, and only if Find my iPhone was enabled on it, and only them if it is powered on and connected to a cellular or WiFi network.

File>Transfer Purchases in iTunes will transfer items purchased from the iTunes store.
If you have items from other sources (ripped CD's, etc.) on the phone, you can't transfer those without purchasing 3rd party software.
Restore the backup of your old computer or just copy the data from the old computer to the new one.

HT2311 Unable to get iTunes working on iMac with OS X 10.6.8.

Unable to get iTunes working on iMac with OS X 10.6.8. Have rolled back a couple of versions and same problem. iTunes seems to open but all functions are greyed out and must force quit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. On a couple of occasions have had options available, but once selected it hangs, and then all is greyed out and must force quit. Incidentally going directly to a song (before running iTunes) will open iTunes and play, but all options are still greyed out.

It could be corrupted preference files, or a corrupted library file. You could try dragging the preference and iTunes library files to your desktop, launching iTunes, and see if the functions will then work. Your songs will of course be missing, but if that fixes the problem, you can put the files back one by one and see which causes the problem. If it's just a preference file, just trash the file and reset your preferences. If it's the library, post back and we can help you rebuild.

You need more storage on your iPad, however, it can't be increased. iCloud storage is ecternal to the iPad and is used for backup.
You need to delete some item on the iPad.
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

On my iphone, when I get into Messages, I see a list of message thread names and at the top right is an icon with a square and pencil coming out of it. If I tap it, I can begin composing a new message with having to deal with any others.
If on your screen you see one or more message "bubbles", then press the "Messages" button at the upper left to go back to the home page for messages. There you can tap the compose icon.

Several applications including Settings open and close immediately, unable to get iTunes to install an update

While traveling in China, I was unable to get latest iTunes download an update to 4.3.2 (after download is compoleted, is starts processing and says network timed out, without any clear reason) I can download the file separately for an older version without using iTunes fine.
I have a hunch that the multitude of emails flying in my account is causing trouble, since Mail is one of the apps closing immediately. But I cannot use settings to combat Mail problems.... Anyone any idea???

The "Network timed out " may be a firewall or antivirus on the computer.
For the apps closing, try the following:
stop all running apps:
Double-click the Home button. Hold an icon in the bottom row until the minus sign shows, then touch all minus signs to close all apps.
Then Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons until the Apple Logo appears, about 10 seconds.

On an iPad with iTunes, do you know if you can edit/delete all your tunes on your device with a "clear all" button rather than having to delete a song one by one like you have to do on an iPhone if not synching via a MacBook/ PC with iTunes account?

I'm signed up to the Cloud and itunes match - the whole game. But I cam getting annoyed with having to delete songs one by one on my iPhone once dowloaded from the cloud as I only have a 16GB phone....yes I listen to music non-stop! So, I am thinking about getting an iPAD as I rarely use my MacBook Pro for anything other than surfing and music now... so the question is: "On an iPad with iTunes, do you know if you can edit/delete all your tunes on your device with a "clear all" button rather than having to delete a song one by one like you have to do on an iPhone (if not synching via a MacBook/ PC with iTunes account where I know you can clear down and refill with ease)????
