  • How can I transfer purchased itunes from my computer to my iPod without losing/erasing the current songs on my iPod?

How can I transfer purchased iTunes from my computer to my iPod without losing all the songs I currently have on my iPod?  I've already burned the purchased songs onto DVDs, but they still aren't recognized as authorized songs that I can copy onto my iPod.  One other note:  The songs I purchased were done so with iTune versions much earlier than 10.0, does that matter?  I couldn't tell you what version though.

Not sure what you are saying.
What is stopping you from adding the songs?
Are you getting an error message?
    What does it say?

  • HT1660 How do I identify Itunes purchases and how do I transfer purchased iTunes to my ITune Library???

How do I transfer purchased ITunes to my Library????  RSVP.  thank you...

I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • How do I transfer purchases from my new iPad to my 3rd generation iPod touch?

I bought a couple albums on my new iPad. I went to transfer the purchases onto my 3rd generation iPod touch but, even signed into my iTunes account, it seems to have no idea there were any purchases. It will, however, show obviously purchased items on my iPod but that's it. I have easily transferred items from my iPod touch to my iPad and the iTunes on my PC but cannot get it to go from my iPad to the iPod. I'm thinking I might need to update iTunes on my iPod but I'm not sure how to do that, if that's even the issue.

You can redownload iTunes purchases directly to an iDevice by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
With iTunes 10.3 or later and iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download your previous purchases directly to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer.
Otherwise you will have to do it via iTunes:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    then sync with iTunes.

  • How do i transfer my itunes library from ipod to iphone

I have just purchased an iPhone 4 and would like to know how I transfer my existing iTunes library that is synced to my iPod Nano to the iPhone?
    Thank you :-)

You can't connect the iPod to the iPhone, you need to sync via your computer's iTunes. If you don't still have all your music on your computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto your computer and add into iTunes ? If not then if you have any iTunes purchases on your iPod then File > Transfer Purchases might copy them back to your computer. Otherwise you could see if any of the iPod-to-computer utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work https://discussions.apple.com/message/11014893?messageID=11014893#11014893

  • How do I transfer purchases to my new account?

I received my first iPod sometime in 7th grade and purchased many songs for it then. However, since I was a minor I had to use my parent's account to purchase those songs. Those purchases were using my own iTunes giftcards. Now that I am over 18, I created my own Apple ID, but the songs that I purchased with my parent's account still require authorization. Unfortunately, my parents will change the password now and then without warning which prevents me from listening to the music I purchased under their account until I can get the new password from them. I would like to transfer ownership/authorization for the music I purchased using my parent's account to my own personal account. Is this possible in any way?
I know about the normal policy. Purchases cannot be transferred to another account. However, I know that exceptions can always be made and I feel that my case warrants one. The purchases made on my parent's account was using my own funds. Thus, they belong to me. I am not stealing somebody else's music since the only songs I wish to transfer are the ones I purchased with my own money. Is it possible to contact an Apple Support manager and get this issue resolved?
If not, Apple should consider allowing minors to create accounts under the jurisdiction of their parent's account until the minors turn 18. That way, minors will still be able to purchase iTunes content and retain it when they become legal adults. If Apple will not fix the current issue, then they need to at least ensure that future users will not have a similar issue.

I also have one more thing to add. My parents now have iPods, iPhones, and Mac computers of their own. Thus, they have maxed out the five authorized computer limit which means I cannot authorize my computer for the purchases I made on their account.

  • I just bought a new ipod shuffle, how can i transfer music from my old ipod onto the new one

How do I transfer from my old ipod to my new ipod

You can't transfer it directly.  If the old iPod is set to sync to your iTunes library on the computer, everything on the iPod is in your iTunes library.  Just set up the shuffle to sync from your iTunes library as desired.
If the old iPod is set to Manually manage music, AND there are songs on the iPod that are not in your current iTunes library, please post back.

  • How Do I transfer Musis to a New IPod?

I have an existing ipod with 1000 songs on it. All the music was put on legally [music store or original CD]. I want to know if there is a way to buy a ipod nano for a freind and transfer the music in my itunes files on my PC to her new Ipod?

    John,
What you are asking for is to illegally share copyrighted music. This cannot be done between friends. At best, it may be legal between family members sharing the same residence and music property (husband/wife, father/son, maybe brother/sister). Not brothers who live in different locations (for example).
If you want to give her the music
    i and
give up your 'rights' to use it, then that is permissible. But both of you cannot use the singularly purchased music simultaneously.
You may not get many (if any) other responses to this question. If you are trying to share copyrighted music, please understand that we cannot help.
Unfortunately, the Apple Discussions Terms of Use for these Forums explicitly prohibit anyone here from encouraging, or directly facilitating the 'sharing of music' as you describe.
The music industry and Apple considers it 'stealing' and we or you can get our posts locked, removed, or be given a temporary or permanent vacation. Sorry.
