HT201269 my new 5s was stuck in recovery state & now dead

hi can anyone help me?
my 5s is stuck in recovery state. Now its gone off it seems and doesnt come on. It's dead.

You need to upgrade your computer's OS to at least OS X 10.5.8 and use iTunes 10.5.
With OS X 10.4.11, you cannot upgrade beyond iTunes 9.2.1.
OS X upgrades from 10.4.XX to 10.5.XX require purchasing a DVD with the new OS.  If your laptop has an intel processor, you can upgrade directly to OS X 10.6 for $29.
Take your laptop to the store with your new phone and ask them what your best options are.

Ipad3 stuck in recovery mode. 5.1.1 OS. No backup. Data AT RISK. Tried Tinyumbrella 5.11/recboot/ redsn0w unsuccessfully.
This happened while browsing yesterday and safari stopped working. I upgraded to 5.1.1 the day it was released about 10 days ago, but under backups I CANT find that backup either.
    Tried DFU + redsn0w also.
In sum, i am in a mess. Please help.

I once again request the gurus in the community to help me. I need to extract my Phd work from Notability and Goodnotes. I would lose two months of work, if i cant. Request you all to please help or suggest any third party software to try the data recovery with.

  • My imac was stuck on an update. I shut it off. It then was stuck in startup. Now I have my os disk also stuck

My computer was stuck doing an update. I shut it off. When I started it later, it was stuck on start up. 8 hours later I threw in the os disk and now I have that stuck in there also.
    Help!

I would restart the computer holding the mouse or Trackpad button down to force the install disc out of the ODD. I would do a Safe Boot to try and get the computer to start. Repair Disk would be the next step per rkaufmann87 that I would do.
However, if you have Lion installed, why was the computer's install disc inserted?

  • New iPod Touch stuck in recovery mode during initial setup

I am trying to set-up my daughter's new iPod touch 5th Gen. When you try to connect to iTunes message says "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes". Even when you disconnect from computer it is stuck on screen telling you to connect USB to computer.  Two of her friends also got this iPod for Christmas and are having the same problem...during initial set-up. I've tried the system updates 3 times. iTunes recognizes the device, but the computer is not recognizing it as a drive. I've tried both my Mac and my Windows PC.  I've tried hard resets.  You can't remap the drive because the device doesn't show up. Most of the apple support topics address if iTunes doesn't recognize the device in conjunction with it not being recognized by the drive.  Obviously a problem with the new update because several brand new iPod touches wouldn't be having the same problem. Please help if you've found a solution. Happy New Years!

    Have you tried another computer?
    Have you tried another cable?

  • Brand new iPod touch stuck in recovery loop

Earlier today I took delivery of an iPod touch 64GB, 5th generation. I plugged it into iTunes and immediately set about restoring the settings from a back-up of my previous (4th generation) model.
Having done this (but before loading my media) it told me that iOS 6.0.1 was available for download, so I set that going.
Then, having completed the download, I got an error message stating that the iPod couldn't be updated and it went into recovery mode.
Since then, whenever I click on 'Restore', it spends half an hour downloading the iOS update, processes the file and... nothing. I then click on 'Restore and update', tick the usual acceptance screens and the download starts all over again. This has now happened six times.
I've tried putting the iPod touch into DFU mode, but the same scenario occurs. Only once did it get as far as 'extracting software' but stopped shortly afterwards with an error, code 3014. Back to square one.
I'm a bit disappointed, to say the least.

Try disabling the conmputer's antivirus and firewall.
    Also:
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

  • New iPod Touch stuck in recovery mode?

I've watched a ton of videos on how to get out of recovery mode, nothing works.
They said hold the home/power button till it restarts, then after 5 seconds let go of the home button. etc........ However it is going back to the Itunes logo/cable...
    Note-
It wont restore when i try, it says error code (6). or something.
Ive tried to restore on 4 different computers.
Ive re downloaded Itunes, and have the latest version.
    Ive restarted the computer.
So frustrating...... anyone able to resolve this problem???

I'm presuming you first completely uninstalled iTunes and any Apple-related programs from your computer and then restarted before reinstalling iTunes? I had the same issue as you but after making sure I'd completely removed iTunes etc, restarting my PC and then reinstalling iTunes before doing a final restart, I was then able to restore my Touch and get it out of recovery mode ****.
If this still doesn't work and you've tried it on different computers then you may have to phone Apple themselves.

  • Ipad 2 was stuck in recovery, now lost all apps

I went to update my ipad 2, to update 5.0.1 when it crashed. I rebooted my pc and ipad 2 then proceeded to properly do the update again. Ive now lost all my ipads, trying to restore ipad aparently works but nothing changes once its done, i still have no apps and it asks if i want to restore again. And now it's asking me to pay AGAIN for apps ive already spent money purchasing.
I will be sending my ipad to the furnace if you apple expects me to re-buy apps ive spent my hard earned money already purchasing because the **** thing decided to fail on me...?
Can someone please shed some light, thanks
    Regards

There is no mention of apps at all. I'm no expert, but that means to me that you should be able to download them again at no cost as long as you use the same Apple ID and iTunes account.
Read the article all the way through for all of the details.
BTW ..... Did you not transfer your purchases to iTunes and backup before you updated the iOS like you should have done? If the apps are still in your iTunes library, you can sync them again. You can retrieve data by restoring from a backup.

  • Hello i tried everything in my ipod touch when i was about to get my IOS6.1.3  then i went to sleep last morning i was stuck in recovery mode D: any help? please help me :(

PLEASE HELP ME GET OUT OF THE RECOVERY MODE

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I triend to force restore iphone - but it says i have to turn off "find my iphone" first so I can' do that.
    Hope someone can help!!
    Thanks!

    Hi mfiphone98,
If your iPhone is has a black screen, but you are hearing sounds and Siri, you may have inadvertantly activated an Accessibility feature known as Screen Curtains. You may find the following helpful (page 130):
Turn the screen curtain on or off. Triple-tap with three fingers. When the screen curtain is on, the screen contents are active even though the display is turned off.

  • New 5th generation ipod wont install software and is now stuck in recovery mode

I just received a 32 GB iPod touch 5th generation for Christmas today. I installed the newest version of itunes, backed up my former iPod to the computer and then plugged in the new one to add the software and restore it from the back up. After  the 3 hours of installing the software was almost done it said an unknown error ocurred. Now my new iPod is stuck in recovery mode and won't get past restoring the iPod. I have tried to go through it several times now. I really want to get this working, but I don't know what to do anymore.

The problem is that it stops restoring. I go throught the recovery stage to restore it and not even a quarter of the way through it comes up with the message that an unknown error has occured. Every time i connect it to iTunes it tells me that it has detected an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Iphone 6 plus stuck in recovery mode

    Hello
I wanted to restore my fairly new 6plus to "as new" as i found that when i originally restored from backup battery life wasn't the greatest.
I followed all the necessary steps and when i hit restore in iTunes, it started searching for iPhone and remained there.
I tried all methods of holding down home and power button etc. but still nothing
Can anyone offer any advise as yo how i can fix this or do i need to take it in to apple.
    Thank you

While trying to update my IPhone 6 Plus to IOS 8 through iTunes the file became corrupt my IPhone was stuck on recovery mode. I had tried everything but nothing seemed to worked. I gave up and decided to call apple for help, they had me on hold for about 20 minutes. While waiting I had found the program Reiboot and it saved my IPhone (I was still on hold). If none of the things mentioned before me work for you do the following
    1) Go to http://www.tenorshare.com/product/reiboot.html
    2) Download reiboot for Mac/PC depending on your preference.
    3) Install then run the program.
    4) Connect your IPhone/IPad/IPod then click exit recovery and it should return you device back to how it was before you tried to update.
NOTE:If you want to try updating again do it through your device it worked out for me.
