I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

my iphone is detected in itunes as normal, but screen on the phone only shows apple logo??? restored and everything but no difference its weird, it restores successfully and stuff but once done the screen only shows apple logo.. note:while restoring everything goes through as normal on the phone it shows the bar loading etc.. but once complete just stays on apple logo.
It can take a few minutes to reinitialize, but if it stays on the Apple logo for as much as 10 minutes there is something seriously wrong. Try restoring again, and set up as a new phone rather than installing your backup. If this fixes it you have a corrupt backup. If this doesn't fix it the phone is broken. Or possibly jailbroken.

Unless the iPhone was purchased as unlocked very recently directly from an Apple Store (the only place in the US where unlocked iPhones are sold, and then only since June), which from the symptoms I doubt is the case, then it was locked to AT&T and jailbroken to make it work with an Irish cell carrier. Updating the operating system has now relocked the iPhone back to AT&T.
Only the cell carrier can institute an official unlock, one which will hold across updates of the operating system, and AT&T will not do so for any reason. All we can advise here is that you return the iPhone to your uncle and purchase an iPhone there in Ireland.

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace -

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart. -
I have tried to update my phone and it is stuck on "connect to iTunes" I have plugged it up to the wall charger because i have read that the new update can cause a battery drain and i have tried to reset it. None of this is working. Please help.

My two year son was playing with the ipad and must have input the wrong passcode too many times. As a result, the ipad was disabled with further message to connect to itunes. I cannot remember if the ipad was synced with my laptop from the outset. I tried to restore my itouch5 and it said that there was an error of some kind. It says that my ipod software is up to date and below it it says restore ipod. The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

Internet connection not working: don't know how to change network settings
I have a Macbook Pro with an internet connection that normally works fine. However, in my apartment, we are provided with a cable modem that has only one ethernet cable hook-up. Since we needed atleast two ethernet connections for two computers, we bought a switch that we hooked into the cable modem to give us extra ethernet ports.
Recently, while hooking up my ethernet cord to the switch, I have not been able to connect to the internet. Network Diagnostics tells me my Built-in Ethernet is working correctly, but Network Settings are at yellow, and my ISP, Internet and Server have all failed. I have followed all instructions to check my connections, and restart the modem, switch and computer many, many times but there is no problem with any of these things. The other computer connects fine on the switch and cable modem.
Additionally, under Network in System Preferences, I am being shown that there is an IP address and Subnet mask, so I am assuming there is nothing wrong with the cord, modem or switch (which work fine on the other computer), but there is no Router number, which seems odd. If it helps narrow things down, I am also trying to connect to the internet via DHCP rather than PPPoE, which is what I normally use.
I am guessing I must have accidentally changed something to do with my network settings and it is not adapting to the cable modem any longer. Unfortunately, I do not know how to do this, nor what to change it to if I had to. My landlady knows nothing about what kind of network settings I need to connect to the internet service provider. Other than calling Time Warner Cable (who provides the cable modem with ethernet hook-up)is there anything else I can do or should be considering in order to get my internet connection working?heather1688 wrote:
