how would you transfer only a few photos...all contacts for instance? my new phone only has 8GB while my old one has 16GB (thanks att). so i cant restore from backup....so now what?

What does AT&T have to do with you choosing to purchase an iPhone with only 8GB of storage space to replace an iPhone that has 16GB of storage space?
The options for transferring photos is under the Photos tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If a single folder of photos is selected to be transferred, place the photos from that folder that you want transferred to the iPhone into a new folder on your computer. Select the new folder that includes the photos you want transferred under the Photos tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

What to do if iPod has more capacity than computer's HDD?

I just got myself the 160GB iPod Classic, only to realize some weeks later that how can I fill it up if my MacBook has only 120GB of HDD?
Is there a way to fill it up without having to sync back to iTunes? I would mostly use it for videos, either from ITS or from my DVD collection.

You could always buy a large external drive (say 500GB) and keep your iTunes library there and then your drive will definitely be large enough to hold everything your iPod does.

I am about to buy a new PC and I want to buy another X-Fi soundcard for it.
With another I mean, that I already own the X-Fi XtremeGamer soundcard and I like all of its features.
I planned to buy an X-Fi Titanium for the new PC but I'm not sure if this card has more or even less features than XtremeGamer. Till now I thought Titanium is even better, but when comparing the two products, the website said that Titanium doesn't support 24bit-Audio, but XtremeGamer does. Is that correct?
But what's most important for me: In Console Launcher, do I have recording and gaming mode (and not only entertainment mode) installed with my X-Fi Titanium?
Sorry that I'm so confused about the feature sets. Thanks for any help in advance!

I didn't know that the 24-bit playback has an impact on the SNR / DR value. I'm not an technical specialist for audio, just a DirectX programmer

Hi, I have a DSS (Downstream server) that syncs the metadata from a USS(Upstream server) at our place. I counted the number of updates in the database using the `IsLatestRevision` field in the revision table. They are different on both the WSUS servers.
The DSS has less updates than the USS. The query is as follows.
SELECT COUNT(*)
FROM [SUSDB].[dbo].[tbRevision]
where IsLatestRevision=1
Is this the proper way to count the number of updates, if yes, why there is a mismatch.
Please help, i am confused on this. Any help appreciated.

is the downstream server configured in autonomous mode (the default), or is it in replica mode? It's only in replica mode that all of the updates will be replicated.

I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.

Vienna 2.4 has less features than 2.

Hello !I have some problems with Vienna Editor 2.4 which i didn`t have them with 2.3 rev. I?havent`t find a way to?-->a.create a new 'instrument' and put inside it samples that they already excists.b.create a new preset and put inside it 'instruments' that they already excists. I realise that the only way to create a new 'preset' + all its subfolders is to import samples from the outer?world !This procedure makes things easier?to the amateur user,but when you want to create complex instruments or layers it`s simply impossible.All these things were created very easy with 2.3 rev (I?have Winx64 pro and i can`t use 2.3rev). I like the new?'preset tree' of 2.4 but i?liked better the three sections of 2.3 (samples/instruments/presets). I forgot to mention that 2.40.60 rev has many bugs.... for example when you try to change something to a wave file (dynamics,loop points etc) with an external editor then when you close the editor window you have a 50 percent to crash on the desktop with an error message... I`m a sound engineer/musician for a long time and it`s kinf of pity to see that a new software revision has less 'basic' features?and many new bugs !?Any news about new drivers/software updates for WinXp32&64?I`m waiting patiently....Regards George.

try connecting the Touch in recovery mode, then set it up as a new device.
if that fails, you might want to try to put the device in DFU mode.

HT1329 I have imported music files on my iPod Classic which I don't have on my old PC as it had less capacity than the iPod. I now have a new PC and want to transfer the music from the iPod to my new PC so that I have back ups. How can I do this?

You cannot do it (transfer song files from iPod to computer) using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store (and you can also re-download previous purchases using the iTunes Store Purchased screen).
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can be used to transfer from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your new computer's hard drive, drag them (or the folder containing the files) to the iTunes window to add them to your new computer's iTunes library.

Is the wifi faster in the new 3T time capsule (cylindrical) than the older 1T (flat box)?

I have a 4 year old 1T time capsule that is full (it's a flatter form factor). I am contemplating upgrading to a new 3T time capsule (cylindrical form factor). Aside from the extra storage, is there anything else better? Is the wifi data transfer faster?

The new Time Capsule features "ac" wireless capability.......2-3 times faster wireless than your current Time Capsule.....but in order to realize the benefit of "ac", your Mac needs to be capable of receiving an "ac" wireless signal.
If it's not, then you should expect about the same performance as you have now.
Both your older Time Capsule and the newer Time Capsule support Gigabit Ethernet, so the speed capabilites would be equal over a wired connection.

If it was on your own contract you can just apply for unlocking from your online a/c, otherwise ...
The only way to unlock an EE device while abroad is to get an EE PAYG SIM for it off somewhere like eBay, register an online account for it in your own name with EE and top it up with at least £9 to cover the unlocking fee and apply to EE to unlock it by filling in the Unlocking your device form as the PAYG option.
But before you do make sure you have some way with loading the SIM with GBP, for which you will certainly need a UK bank or credit card. It is not free to unlock a device with EE.

I purchased ilife08 and installed it on my G5 running osx10.4.10 and created a project - I just got my new imac and installed the 10.5 upgrade that came with it and when I transferred over the idvd project I wanted to see on my lovely new 24" screen, it was missing button art - I was using stars from the buttons/bullets option in idvd and on the imac there are literally 5 options there - on the G5, there are 24! Do I need to reinstall ilife from my DVD to get these extras or can I download them from somewhere? - I want to use the imac to complete this project - thanks.
I even moved the resource folder within the idvd package from the G5 to the imac - and it made no difference even after a reboot.

Adobe Send has less features than Adobe SendNow. Is there a way to enable email notification of sent and downloaded files?

I have just recently switched (forcibly) from SendNow to Adobe Send. I was using the service in order to securely send records to clients and the send receipts as well as the download receipts have proven in-vaulable later down the line. Is there a way to enable such functionality in the new Adobe Send product?

Since i updated my iphone4 to iOS5 It says that my 16gb phone has reached capacity. There was only about 10gbs showing used before the update, now ive had to delete most of my apps,pictures and music. It still shows that it is over capacity and wont sync.

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.
