What content are you trying to transfer from the iPhone?
If you are trying to import photos/videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll, photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
To transfer content from your computer such as music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, and photos is done with iTunes.

How do I get around restoring iCloud on a new iPhone with an older iOS than my previous iPhone?

My current iPhone 4 has iOS 7.1.2, and my new iPhone 5 I'm trying to set up iCloud for only has 6.1.4. So it won't accept any of my iCloud backups on thr iPhone 4. Note that, after you run the update, you'll need to go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings in order to go through the initial setup again, where it offers you the option of restoring from a backup.

Can't figure out how to finish restoring icloud to my new iphone 5s

Just left Apple store, and they started restoring my icloud. Choice between Later/Finish Restoring. I chose "Later" to get to messages. Now I'm home and can't figure out how to finish restoring. Went to settings, then icloud and could not find anything to continue the restoring. I'm connected to my home wi-fi now, just need help to finish restoring.

It should resume automatically. Make sure it's connected to wifi and your charger.
If it doesn't, go to Setting>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tap Stop Restoring at the bottom. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on your device and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup and follow the prompts. This will start the restore over.

I am trying to restore data to new iPhone after one I bought at Christmas went faulty from iCloud to a new iPhone 5. I just get an error message saying " your iPhone cannot be restore as there is a problem with your data" but none of the other backups shown work either. Any suggestions?

What iOS is your current iPhone running?
What iOS was your previous device running at the time the iCloud backups were made?
If you don't know, then update your iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1, then try to restore the backup again.

If your iphone breaks can you still restore everthing from icloud to a new iphone and if so how ?

Hi everyone my phone recently broke and i had everthing backed up to icloud and not my computer. will i be able to restore everything to a new iphone from icloud and if so how would i do it ? also if i back my iphone up to just my computer and it breaks will i be able to reinstall itunes on a new computer and get everthing from my iphone back ? I was just curious as to which method of backup is better for complete piece of mind if my iphone and computer were to break at the same time (i know that would be unlikely but stranger things have happend haha). hope someone can help me i would really appreciate it .

Yes, you can get the data onto a new iPhone. When you first turn it on, you will need to go through the setup screens, one of which asks if you want to restore from a backup. Choose Restore from iCloud backup and sign in with your Apple ID. For a complete walkthrough of each setup screen, see:

How can I get my missing calendar events back? They are still on my 3Gs Iphone which I have not yet updated to IOS5.

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

Now I keep having issues accessing my account and my password isn't working to access Icloud to download Itunes. Can I undo this new account I created and just use my one existing Apple ID? This is my first IPhone and confused with this part of the setup! Thanks.

If you know the answers to your security questions, you should be able to change your password without using email authentication (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HE36). If you don't, you may be out of luck.

Where can I buy a nano sim for the new iPhone 5

Hi all,
I have just ordered a new iPhone 5 from the apple website and it comes as an unlocked phone. Therefore I need to buy a new 'nano sim' to fit the new phone.
Does anyone know where and how I go about doing this?
I've seen that vodaphone have apparently got 500,000 of these new Nano sims in stock, but are they only for people who have bought the phone through them?
Do you know any other networks or providers that are selling the nano sim, even if you haven't purchased the phone from them?
Any advice or tips would be much appreiciated.

Which is why in the UK it is not really worth purchasing an iPhone directly from Apple - it's a no brainer. You should always purchase through the phone companies themselves and you'll get a much better deal always.
I have been with 02 on a contract since I had my first iPhone and have always upgraded for less than half the cost of the iPhone directly from Apple.
I really don't understand why someone would want to spend at least £525 to £600 on a phone from Apple when you could get it for less than half the cost with the UK phone companies, unless of course money is no object!

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Turned on my Mac Pro a few minutes ago and I got the following "POP-UP" message.
" Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone. " ( my iPhone is not new. )
" If you recently signed into "xxxxx iPhone" you can ignore this notification."
On the bottom of this pop-up window is an "OK" button. Well it's NOT "OK" No option is offered if it is not "OK".
I have made no changes to my iPhone whatsoever. Just normal use today. In my iCloud settings everything is turned off except sharing Contacts.
I'd suggest you log on to iCloud.com with your Apple ID, and then go to Settings and look in the "My Devices" settings for anything you don't recognize.
I just did this. All of the devices are iPhones, iPads, and Macintoshes that I own and am familiar with.
