Itunes will not detect any of my devices.  Any suggestions?  I've shut down and restarted, turned devices off and on.  Not sure what else to do.

    Hello, bone61.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.  If the issue persists try all remaining steps.

  • Cannot get iTunes 10 to detect any of my devices =(

    Hi There,
I have a really bizarre problem with iTunes that I can't seem to fix.
I work in the IT department for a company that predominantly uses Mac computers.
Currently, this particular problem with iTunes is happening on 2 different MacBook Pro laptops used by 2 different staff members (and both with latest the 10.6.4).
The problem is that iTunes 10 cannot recognise any device plugged into the laptop. I've tried the user's iphone, my iphone and even my ipad and it just won't work. I've tried different USB ports as well (please be mindful that I've done the same tests on both laptops).
I've also scoured the forums in search to uninstall iTunes and remove all necessary files for a complete uninstall. Here's the weird bit, after I do a restart and re-install iTunes from a dmg - it WORKS! Woohoo BUT! after i do another restart of the laptop it goes back to the same problem, it can't detect anything! and I can't believe this is happening on 2 different laptops.
So for the time being, I've advised users that if they want to keep using iTunes they won't be able to restart their computers. Which is a stupid fix, but I don't want to have to keep reinstalling their iTunes every time they boot up in the morning.
Thank you in advance for your help.

  • ITunes can't read any of my devices. Any help?

When I connect my iPad 2 to iTunes, an error saying "iTunes cannot read the iPad. Please restore to factory settings" comes up.  My iTunes is up to date, but my iPad is version 6.1.3.  The same thing happens to my iPod 4 (version 5.0.1).  I have restarted my computer, checked multiple USB cords, and re-downloaded iTunes.  Do I just need to update the devices?

You're right on point. Definitely want to make sure you've got backups in place (if possible) before doing so.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262
For what it's worth, I recommend backing up both devices to iCloud AND iTunes if at all possible.
Do be aware, however, that these backups will only allow you to restore you data (pictures, messages, settings, etc), but there is NO good way to go back to iOS 6 once you've updated to iOS 7.
Honestly, though, iOS really isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.

  • Skype can't detect any webcam

Hi, Since I updated the newer version of skype 6.11, my video does not work anymore. When I go under options, I get the message, "skype can't detect any webcam". I have a built-in camera in my laptop using windows 7. I know my camera works, but I don't know how to make skype detect my built-in camera. So far, I can call people, I see and hear them and they can hear me, but they can't see me since I don't even have the options to put on my camera anymore. Please, can anyone help me with this issue? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled skype, but it does not work. Thank you

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.
