Yes you can install your current sim into the mini iPad. You have to cut the current sim to the nano sim. There are cutter available on eBay and amazon. You go to your local best-buy. They have it for sale. Just be carefully to align properly or else you will end damaging your current sim. Any little damage to the current sim will render it unusable.

The iPhone 4s uses a Micro SIM and the iPhone 6 uses a Nano SIM. The Nano SIM is smaller and thinner, so you should get a new SIM, but some customers have been able to trim their Micro SIM down and gotten it to work in the newer iPhones. It is a snug fit since it is also thicker, so I would suggest getting a new SIM if you can.

You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device. -

No, it won't work because I think the iPhone 3gs take the full size sim card as far as I can remember and not even a micro sim.
The iPhone 4s has a much smaller sim card, so it just is not going to work.
What you could do is go to your carrier and purchase a Pay As You Go sim card in the correct size to fit a 3gs and put it in to activate the phone to use it as an iPod and then take it out. -

Do you just want to delete the music or wipe the whole phone since you've switched to the other one?
If you plug the old iPhone into your computer you can remove stuff via iTunes or remove stuff directly from the iPhone too. -
