HT201272 All my previously purchased iTunes Music will not play on my iPhone 5. I am really frustrated! If anyone knows how to help, please do so :)

I cannot play any of my previously purchased iTunes songs/albums on my iPhone 5. The songs are listed as downloaded, but when I go to play them, the 'play' screen appears for about 2 seconds, and then disappears. I have followed all the steps I can find online. My phone is syncing with iCloud these days. Please help if you can!

Welcome to the forums.
This hasn't yet been reported but the fact that it's only songs you purchased that plays is suspicious. What is the format of the other music? (Go into iTunes and select one and press Ctrl-I and report on what it says there).

An exclamation mark means that it doesn't know where you moved the music to.  To fix this, click on the exclamation point and when it asks you to browse to the location where you moved it to, use the normal commands to go up and down folders in your external drive until you find the song.  Repeat as necessary.

I just recently purchased a iphone 4 and updated and transferred the informtion in the clouds. Now my music on my phone will not play. It keeps shuffling through the songs without playing.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Purchased itunes music will not copy to ipod touch with windows

I'm helping out a neighbor. They just got an ipod touch and when they set up the itunes they were able to transfer some music but when they purchased music from itunes and tried putting it on the ipod it won't go. Now no music will copy to the ipod. Does anyone know that they should do? I'm not much of a PC person but I think if I can get some direction I can help them out.

If the non-syning ones play in iTunes on the coputer:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Previously purchased iTune songs will not transfer to new hard drive on my

computer. I authorized computer through iTunes after hard drive installed and received message it was successful. When I connected iPod to sync, I then received message that items won't copy because computer not authorized. I then deauthorized and authorized again and received message it was successful. Then I tried copying again and received same message that they could not be copied because computer not authorized. Is there any other way to copy them to iPod?

It may be that the song album tracks are not checked. iTunes will not sync unchecked tracks.
Right mouse click on a track in the album if it shows Check Selection at the bottom of the popup than select Check Selection. Repeat for the other tracks. You can select all at once and still select Check selectiom.
    The Album should now sync

  • My iTunes music will not play in my iMovie.

I noticed this topic was asked somewhere else, but those were specifically asking about purchased music. NONE of my music in my iTunes library will play. All of the music I've imported from my CDs is doing the same thing as well. It does fine if I import it directly from the CD into the movie.
I also noticed now that when doing slide shows with other picture applications like Kodak and iphoto....where I used to could play music, now there's nothing.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

    Hi Lisa:
Go to the itunes folder and find "iTunes Music Library.xml" Drag that to the trash. Open itunes again and wait a few minutes because it will nee to rebuild that file. Then try imovie / iphoto to see if it recognizes your library.
You may have a permissions problem (kinda doubt it but...)
Go to your iTunes folder in ~/Users/Your/Username/Music.
Select the iTunes folder and Get Info (command-I).
In 'Ownership & Permissions' expand the 'Details:' item.
Check that 'You can Read & Write'
Click on 'Apply to enclosed items...'
All files in your iTunes folder now have the correct permissions.
Give iPhoto and iMovie a try.

  • Itune music will not play

I simply transfer all my music over to my new computer. I follow Itune instructions as far as authorizing my new computer to play the listed song (Yvonne Elliman)...but all I am receiving is apple continuous repeating to input my apple ID and password and then apple keep repeating I am authorize to play song. But every time I try to play this song apple repeating the process all over again.
Yvonne Elliman (Hello Stranger)...please assist me in authorizing my past purchased cd on an old computer, onto my recent new computer. Whenever I tried to authorize via my My Apple ID and password...on my newer computer, I get the same repeated request to re-enter my apple ID and password. Itune keep saying I'm authorize, but when I tried to play this CD...I get the same massages. please help...thank you.

    Hi tzinaki,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would recommend deleting and redownloading the song that you are having an issue with on your iPhone:
You can delete individual songs, artists, albums, playlists, compilations and composers from your iPhone.
This information is on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide
    manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

  • ITunes music will not play

    Hello, All!
I have an issue with iTunes right now...
This is what keeps happening to my music- for a couple of weeks now, I have not been able to play the music I select, whether in my Library or in the Store. I can select it, but then it freezes and never plays. I even had an issue or two streaming videos from YouTube, but it is tentatively working now, I am not sure if that is related.
I think I might know what part of the issue might be. On my computer, whenever I turn it on, this pops up:
For those who don't know, Dolby Home Theater is a program that helps control the sound on my PC. Therefore, I can't help but think the iTunes issue is related somehow. So, I tried reinstalling the program:
Unfortunately, the "Dolby Home Theater" image popped up again, and my music still won't play.
What do I do? And thank you for your time.
    Sincerely,
    ccarriee

OK, managed to figure it out with multiple hours and outside help!!
Go to Device Manager. If you are like me, you can look at the list of devices and see that there is an issue with the HD Audio Driver called Conexant. Click on it, and it will give you options. I had uninstalled it based on someone's advice, so I clicked on the button that says you want to find Conexant online and install it. It worked!! Finally. :-) Best of luck to others with this problem, hopefully this helps.

  • Recent iTunes purchases will not play on my iPhone after recent update.  Grey cloud and red arrow syndrome.  Please help?

    Hello,
I need a bit of help.  I have made a handful of itunes purchases over the past few months.  Yesterday, I updated both my itunes and iphone with the latest updates.  Now, after the update on my iphone I can not get my recent song purchases to play (they played before I updated my phone).  There is a greay cloud with the downward pointing red arrow.  When I click the cloud/arrow nothing happens and it won't download.  I've tried a handful of things that I have found on these forums to no avail.  I've reset software, checked/unchecked this box on my phone and on itunes on my computer, removed and re-installed.  I know this is all a litle vague on what I have done, but please know I've tried and tried all kinds of advice.  Now, I have tpo reach out to the community and see if there is soomehting else that may work.
    Thanks,
    BG

  • I recently purchased a new computer and tried to move my itunes music to the new PC, I am not savay on computers, but music will not play on new PC, error (!) will not play and have to locate.  Why is this please help.

please help, someone that doesn't have the savay on moving music from an old pc to a new pc.  Music will not play message comes up and have to search. also purchased music from iPhone and does not show on my music library on PC.  This is very frustrating.  Thank you

It all depends on exactly how you move the library from one machine to the other. The database holding information about your library is normally in a folder called iTunes, with the media in a subfolder called iTunes Media. In this layout you can usually copy the entire iTunes folder from one machine to the other and it will work. If the media folder is split to a new location however then often the links to tracks will fail on a new computer.
You shoud find that the FindTracks script is able to repair the links in your library.
I'm not sure I know what is going on with the purchased music, however if you enable Edit > Preferences > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music you should be able to recover your past store purchases.
