HT201272 Audiobook download

I downloaded an audiobook to my IPhone approx 4 months ago but it has not copied across to my newly purchased IPad and doesn't appear in my ITunes purchases. I've set both devices to use ICloud. Any ideas how to find it so that I can download it to the IPad please?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download so they won't appear in the cloud for re-downloading. If you still have it on your iPhone then you should be able to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync it to the iPad. If you no longer have a copy of it anywhere then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download (but there is no guarantee that they will) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Express Lane, then iTunes > iTunes Store

    Yes, it will. Audiobooks cannot be redownloaded. You'll need to contact the iTuens Store, explain what happened, and ask for assistance. Go here:

    I upgraded my OS on my iphone and it failed to synch one of my audiobooks.  It is not available on my PC or on my iphone.  When I go into the istore and try to purchase it again it says that the item has already been purchased (no ****), I can't download it through any option.  Obviously the istore knows I already own it, but where is it?

    Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download from the store.     Select the iPod shuffle in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES).  If this is a current 4th (or 3rd) gen iPod shuffle, you should be able to see the contents of the shuffle by type, intented under the shuffle's name (still in the sidebar).  Select Music or Audiobooks (not sure where those items from the library will be listed).  The items will be listed to the right, for each category.  Find the items, select, and delete.

    NOTE:  If this is an 1st or 2nd gen iPod shuffle, select the iPod shuffle in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES).  Over to the right, go to the Contents tab, where the items are listed.  Select and delete them from this list.
    I find it more convenient to make a playlist in iTunes with things I want to put on the shuffle.  I then set up automatic syncing (or use autofill) to have iTunes load the shuffle from that playlist, automatically.

    When this occurred I was using Firefox 6.0.2 before I just updated to 7.o. I just tried it again with 7.0 and the problem persists.I've never had problems before; I use our library system (www.hclib.org) all the time to access the NetLib audiobook download site (based on my library card number). I've searched everything I can think of on the Norton Security Suite Version: 4.3.0.5 software. My ISP is xfinity.comcast.com
    I have been monkeying around with addons and extensions, could one of them be causing this? I disables almost all the addons but that didn't make a difference either.
    I haven't made any changes to Norton since it was installed (automatic updates).

    Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download so will need to contact iTunes Support to be able to re-download it for free. Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
    If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

    You cannot redownload them.
    It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy.

    I purchased an audio book, I was billed for it, but I cannot find it in my library to download to my phone.

    If you've just bought it on your phone then it should have downloaded into the Music app - when you have audiobooks on an iOS device you should get an Audiobooks option via the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
    If it is in there then note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading), so you may want to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library.

    I don't think you can for Audiobooks.
    Have you checked if the audiobook file is on your computer in your download area. If it is there just drag and drop it into itunes

    Audiobooks are not currently available for repeat download so they won't show in the "Purchased" section of your account. You ought to have made a backup from which you could have restored all your content. There is no obligation on them to do so, but if you ask the iTunes Store support team nicely they might make an exception and requeue your missing content.

    Delete the problematic songs from your library including the files. Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go to Music tab to re-download again
