HT201272 Can't re-download albums or individual songs which had errors in them

The albums I downloaded all had errors in the file so I deleted them, and now I can't re-download them from my iTunes account

Like I said, I tried to delete those songs from my library. They won't delete. I try right-clicking and click delete, and nothing happens. I see no delete button... how do you suggest doing it?
I am running iTunes 10 on a WIndows XP PC.

Are these "thousands of files" in an iTunes library that simply cannot be found?
If so, assuming you know exactly where they are, hold the "Option" key while opening iTunes from your dock. You will then be given a "Choose Library" option. Choose it and point to your library.

I have read several posts, but many have problems with old purchases and new computers. This is a purchase I made today. I have tried deleting the SC file, and made all changes suggested by iTunes web site and other suggestions. Anybody have any suggestions I may have missed?

A bit late for this advice now, but hopefully you'll know what to do next time.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Can't export downloaded album

I purchased an e-album on amazon.com. It appeared in my I-tunes library, where I'm able to listen to it and to burn a CD. However, I can't export it to my Rhapsody software so that I can download it to my Sansa. When I try to "Import files" using Rhapsody, I browse the folders in the Itunes folder, but no folder appears for the downloaded album. I also tried exporting the files from ITunes as a playlist, but the files don't appear in Rhapsody when I do this. ITunes knows that the songs are there, but the files seem to be invisible. Any ideas? Thanks.

Can't share downloaded album art

I have a Powerbook G4 17" & Mac Mini Intel Core Solo on a LAN. I use the mini to play music and such in the den. When I connect to my Powerbook's shared music library the music plays fine, but the album art that iTunes downloads automatically doesn't appear in the display box. The new album art displays fine on my Powerbook and my iPod, and the album art I put in myself prior to iTunes 7 appears just fine. But iTunes' own art won't show up on the mini. Of course, it won't show up on Front Row either. How can I share iTunes' album art on my mini?

I've had no problem displaying artwork over a network before iTunes 7. Actually, iTunes 7 still displays album art from by network, but the artwork that iTunes downloads automatically doesn't show up. But the artwork that I've attached myself does transfer over the network.
I have the mac mini hooked up to an HD TV, so I love iTunes hi-res album art on it vs. the low-res stuff I can find on the internet. I'd just love to use iTunes built-in album art feature from now on instead of hunting for hi-res art on my own. Anybody have any luck displaying art downloaded from iTunes across a network?

Can't re-download album.

I bought a Science Friday collection. It shows up in my iTunes as an album with 3 songs. Each about an hour long. The first two "songs" play great. The third one doesn't. It shows up as 90 MB and 45 minutes long, but when it tries to play it just skips over to the next thing in the playlist.
I want to try re-downloading the entire album. As far as I can tell, you can do that with items you've already paid for. At least the help system seems to imply that. However, on the "Purchased" page, I don't see a download option. In the list, all items just have a greyed out button that says "Downloaded". How do I re-download this album? I've already paid for it and one third of the thing doesn't work.
I have Windows 7, 120GB iPod Classic, latest version of iTunes. The computer IS authorized. And I've only got the one account.

Delete it. then redownload it.

How are you trying to redownload them e.g. you are using the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes :
If you are in a country where music can be redownloaded then that should let you redownload them from the store.
If they redownload in the same shortened state then you can contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Itunes store has my purchased download button deactivated, so I can't re-download songs. What is the problem?

Have the same problem. The country is the USA.
USA permits re-downloads.
So do you have another suggestion? Here's what Apple support says:
"click the iCloud download button next to each item to download them one by one, or click the iCloud Download All button at the bottom."
Unfortunately there is no "iCloud download button". Did a google images search for same, and it's definitely not there. What is there is a greyed-out icon which says "Downloaded." Click on this and the only option is "remove from list."

I am on a different computer, but it is authorized.
When I click on "previous purchases", nothing pops up!
But when I try to add a previously downloaded album to my "wish list" it says I can't because I have already boughten it before.
Please help, I cannot find anything about this online.
When i check my account history, it shows my purchases, but won't let me re-download them.

Are you logging with the same google account? Are any apps listed when you go to the playstore on your computer for that google account? You can try sending them to the phone from the computer,
What error message do you get when you try to install the apps?

sorry im a bit new to all this,just checked and where it says album with the songs its says ''rihanna loud'' and when i check the separate song that is def on the album it says something different.so do i need to change that info on the single song?then will it join that album?

Transfered duet albums show individual songs not the album

I recently bought new Van Morrison Duets album. When I transfer it to my ipod it transfers each individual song; not the album

Older model iPods such as the classic don't support the Album Artist field. Workarounds are to treat the entire album as a compilation, or put the guest/feat. artist infomation into the song Name field and use a common value for Artist. I prefer the latter approach.

I've installed iTunes 7 before deciding whether to buy an iPOD nano.
I have a couple of hundred albums, too many to put all of them on a nano.
I want to be able to select a whole album with one click, so with six clicks I can select six albums for syncronisation with the iPOD. I don't want to have to select each track (possibly 100+ clicks). Can I do this?
A work around to this might be if the coverflow "mode" displayed only the songs in the selected album, or if a playlist was created for each album automatically, neither of which I can find options for. Am I missing something?
As it stands at the moment I don't think I would get an iPOD. I want to take a different selection of albums with me every day but that doesn't seem to be what it's designed for...

Well, I'm not sure that's the best way to go about adding songs to your iPod, but you can do it that way. Make a new playlist. It may help to double-click on that new playlist so that the playlist opens in a separate window.
In the main iTunes window, select the main library and then put iTunes in browser mode (View..Show Browser). Select the albums you want by control-clicking in the list. Drag the selection to a playlist (or playlist window). All the songs for those albums will be added to the playlist.
Then sync that playlist to your iPod. You can clear that playlist (or make another new playlist) and make new selections if that's what you want to do.

Be easiest to restore from your back up.
You do make regular back ups of your important files, correct?
iTunes Store Terms of Service allows for only one download.
You could send an email to -> iTunes Store - Customer Service and grovel at their feet and beg for a redownload.
However, if granted (or not), I would highly recommend you immediately learn how & start to back up your computer.
