HT201272 download all my music from cloud
I am running iTunes 11.1.5 in Mac OS 10.8.5 on my mid-2011 MacBook Air.
I recently confronted a long-standing issue regarding precipitous battery decay, and, when
the Apple Store couldn't "find" a hardware issue, they suggested I wipe the disk and reinstall my OS.
I did this, and, of course, all my digital content is viewable in iTunes but only as potential downloads from iCloud (I do use
iTunes Match). I don't care to store movies or TV Shows on the Air, but *would* like to have all my music
back on this hard drive. I can only seem to initiate a download of music actually purchased in iTunes.
That's great for the first 850 or so songs, but, at my age, most of my stuff was ripped from my cd's, so
now I'd like to get my *other* 6500 songs back on the Air without clicking that little cloud icon 6500 times.
I'd use Home Sharing, but it appears this would simply double the number of entries in iTunes - those that
are really there and those (same ones really) in the cloud, but the again I'd have to deal with all those dupes.
'Eliminate Duplicates' isn't an option, as there are many titles I have multiple versions of.
I know I must be missing something obvious...but how do I get this ripped music easily back on the Air???
TIA.

I have downloaded all my music from the cloud to my new iPhone and created playlists so I can listen to it when not it wifi like when on a plane. If I turn on iTunes Match will I still have this music still downloaded? The online information suggests all my music will be replaced. Will I have to download it again??
What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not an iTunes "account." The account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to sign in to the iTunes Store and make purchases. It is also used with iCloud. iPods (that are not iPod touch) are associated with your iTunes library, not to your Apple ID.
So, I think you probably just need to set up (or update) automatic syncing for the iPod. If it's not set up to sync those new songs, iTunes still syncs the iPod, but it syncs nothing
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, the iPod appears under DEVICES, when it is connected.
Select the iPod in iTunes. There is a row of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music (if it's not already checked). If your iTunes music library fits completely on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. On the lists below, checkmark the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres that you want on the iPod. When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.
One convenient way to set this up (if you can't sync the entire iTunes music library) is to create a new playlist in your iTunes library. Name it "iPod Songs" (or whatever you want). Put ALL songs that you want on the iPod on this playlist, including those new songs. Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select this playlist under Playlists. Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button), iTunes automatically syncs the same changes to the iPod. -
After creating a new playlist in iTunes, how can I add my entire music library --at once-- to the new playlist. I want to download all my music from Icloud at once on my Macpro
You have two separate questions here...
To get all your music into one playlist, select Music in the sidebar and click the Songs view at the top. Then, highlight all the songs and drag them into your playlist.
I don't know if it's possible to download all Purchased content (or do you mean iTunes Match content?) at once; try a few Google searches. -
Just bought a new imac and tried to download all my music from my iPod but it only allow me to download purchased items and not the rest of stuff stored on a previous pc itunes folder. How do I get round this ?
The simplest way to transfer everything is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.

How do i re-download all my music from icloud to my mac
how do i re-download all my music from icloud to my mac
iCloud does not have your music, don't waste time looking there. In iTunes you can download all the music originally purchased using iTunes, additionally, and only if you have iTunes Match you can download all of the music in your library regardless of where you got it.
iCloud is not a backup system, relying on it instead of a real backup will eventually cost you your stuff. -
How can I download ALL my music from the cloud to an external device?
This seems simple enough, yet I've had nothing but problems downloading all my music in the Cloud to my Mac OR to an external device (preferred).
How, exactly, is this accomplished? Many thanks for any direction.

How can I download all my music from the cloud to itunes?
I have several hundred songs in the Cloud that I am attempting to download to my local PC iTunes. I have clicked and clicked and clicked on eligible songs, but nothing happens. I get a ghost text window "Download from iCloud" but nothing happens. I have the most recent version of iTunes. This is the PC that I sync my iPhone to and I don't want hundreds of songs in the cloud as they have proved difficult to play. I have spent days downloading all of the songs to my iPhone, but I have had no luck downloading any to iTunes. What am I doing wrong?
If they are on the phone, simply transfer them to the computer.
Connect the phone to the computer.
In iTunes, right click on the phone and select "Transfer Purchases". -

I have a wifi only ipad with music stored on the cloud. I want all the music to be on my ipad so when I don't have wifi, I still have access to the music. How do I do that?
Download the music. Go to the purchased tab in iTunes and download the songs. Are you using iTunes Match?

I have an iPhone 4 and downloaded all my iTunes music to it. Now when I connect it to my laptop I automatically get the "blue screen of death", does anyone have any insight into this problem?
This will happen if you have photos in your camera roll and an out-of-date scanner or webcam driver. See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
