HT201272 downloaded songs skip

I downloaded a CD of a new album, download went fine, yet a few songs stop midway and jumps to the next song. Deleted the first download and re-downloaded, any suggestions and how can I get a refund if I decide that route?

I have downloaded songs from itunes and they won't play on an authorized computer or ipod.

Provided you are in a country where you are able to redownload past purchases, delete the songs from your iTunes Library.
Redownload (free) by clicking "Purchased", under Quick Links at the top right of the iTunes store.
If this doesn't work contact iTunes support here:

  • Downloaded song skips - possibly corrupted file?

Over the last 3 months I have downloaded 718 songs from ITunes without any problem. The last one I downloaded, however, audibly skips and jumps at one point in the file as if a record had been scratched (or portions of the digital file missing...)
Exactly 7:26 minutes into the 3rd Movement of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto the file is bad and then at 8:05 it resumes playing again without any problem. The rest of the albumn is fine - just those thirty seconds or so... Maybe it's a bad download maybe the music file itself is bad.
If I'd purchased a CD at the music store I'd take it back and get another copy or a refund. Does anyone know who I can address this issue to?
I am using a Mac computer with OS X. This is the recording made by Antoni Wit, Jerzy Salwarowski, Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra & Vadim Brodsky.

Contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. They'll probably refund your money and instruct you to try again in a couple of weeks when they've had a chance to get a new copy of the track from the record company.

  • Downloaded songs skipping on iPod

Have a 20G iPod and Windows XP Tablet PC edition. Have updated iTunes and iPod software & reloaded. All songs downloaded from iTunes on certain days SKIP on iPod. Some play 6 secs the skip to next song, some play 120 secs. then skip. Got iTunes to authorize a complete "re-download" of all songs affected. Re-sync'd iPod with new downloads in new playlist. STILL SKIPPING. Reset iPod - no help. Any ideas? Cna't stand the skipping!!! ARGHHHHHHHH! Thanks.

There may be something wrong with the authorization file on your iPod.
I think the authorizations file on the iPod is corrupted.
With iTunes shut down, go into Windows Explorer
Make sure your folder options are set to show hidden files. If you are not showing hidden files, you won't see it.
    Delete this file
    ipod drive letter:\iPod_Control\iTunes\iEKInfo
Eject the iPod using the windows "safely remove hardwaer"
Now open iTunes and plug in the iPod. iTunes should rebuild that file to put on the iPod.
Let me know if that works. I've also read the iTunes Library.itl file being corrupted can cause this "skipping over purchased songs on the iPod" problem.

  • HT201272 Purchased Songs skipped

I have two songs on an albumn that I purchased and downloaded that show up in my list of songs but wont play. Itunes skips over them to the next song from the album.
One song plays 10 seconds of 4:10 and the other (should be 2:23) skips over it completely. Is there any way to re-download the song so that it will play?

Delete the tracks from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track files to the Trash. Then download the tracks again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the tracks persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • HT201272 Download songs from a 2nd apple ID on one Mac

    Hi
I have 2 Apple ID's that I want to use on the same Mac. I Authorized the two iTunes account on my Mac. Downloading apps and books is working fine as well as syncing them to my iphone and iPad. The issue starts when I want to download my already purchased songs.
When having the overview of all purchased songs in the iTunes store purchase overview and click on download all I get the following message
When earlier purchased items are being downloaded with your Apple ID, than you cannot purchase or redownload earlier purchased items from an other Apple ID for the next 90 days.
It's already weird that I cannot get to my purchased items when I want, but it's getting even more strange that I do not get this message on my Windows PC doing the exact same thing. On my Windows PC I'm able to download the songs from my other acount without problems and still be able to download items from the 2nd account.
Any body an idea on why I encouner this issue only on my Mac?
    Thanks in advance.

  • HT201272 Downloading Songs

I have a wish list selected and my purchase button is gone. Any suggestions on how to download the songs now?

If you mean the 'buy all' button that used to be on the wish list screen then for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes - you will need to buy each song individually by clicking on their prices

  • I updgraded to IOS 6 and now downloaded songs skip to the next song every two seconds on both my iphone and ipad, and some do not skip. What is going on?

I downloaded the same songs on another phone working in IOS 5.1.1 and there is no problem.  Is this a bug? or is it my imagination?

I've spent most of the last two days trying to restore from back-ups and set up as new and neither worked. iTunes stopped recognizing it AS an iPod at one point so I tried reinstalling iTunes to make sure it was all up to date but it's still doing the same thing. Freezes or disconnects during sync or throws up an error message and 95% of the music that "has" synced is greyed out and not playable. I'm assuming the update has a bug cos these forums are full of problems people are having since the update, I had no issues with anything before this upgrade was installed.

  • Why does iTunes Match download songs that I skip?

I haven't seen this question posted yet, but feel free to direct me to any pertinent posts.
I've been using iTunes Match for the last couple days, and all in all I really enjoy the service. There is one issue that I've yet to see addressed on these boards yet though; why is iTunes Match downloading songs that I skip? I listen to all my music in random, so occasionally there will be a song I just don't want to hear at the moment. I assumed that if I don't listen to a song completely that it would not be downloaded to my device. Not true apparently. I was able to use about half a gig of data in a few hours just by skipping songs. Every song that was skipped, even if I didn't hear a single second of it, was downloaded (at an average size of 5-8 MB). I sincerely hope this is just a bug and not a 'feature'.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

I have noticed this too. I filled up my phone VERY fast yesterday.
and deleting is not easy, lots of left swipe DELETE action, took a while.

  • Re: Songs skipping after downloading from iTunes

I am having problems with the songs skipping when I use itunes to play them on my computer. I have deleted them and redownloaded. It does not fix the problem. What do I do next?

    Hello, cajunkiwi.
Thank you for the question.  There are a couple options to help you with this.  If limited purchased media skips only on the iPhone, then delete the affected content and download it again free of charge via the purchased section of the iTunes Store.  If almost all of your media library skips on the iPhone only, remove all music from the device by removing the preference to sync music.  After this has been completed, restore the sync music preference to place the media back on the the device.  Below are a couple articles that will walk you through this process.

  • TS3297 when I attempt to play a newly downloaded song on my IMac, it starts then skips to a previously downloaded song?

I'm wondering if I have incorrectly downloaded an album from ITunes.  When I attempt to play songs from it, they are incomplete and my IMac will skip to a previously downloaded song.  Please help?

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
