HT201272 Downloading previously purchased ringtones
I've just had to replace a faulty IPhone 4 and while I have managed to access most backed-up data and my apps, what I am unable to access are my ringtones. When I've located them at the ITunes store it acknowledges that I've previously purchased them and asks me if I want to purchase again. While it's only a few quid in the grand scheme of things, it seems ridiculous that the store recognises that I've already bought them, but does not allow me to download in the way that I could with my apps for example.
Has anyone else experienced this??
Cheers
No, everything was backed up, but my IPhone was faulty and the backed-up material somehow got corrupted and they 'vanished'. No matter.
Thanks anyway!

there needs to be a how to download previous purchased ringtones, such a simple task has been made far to difficult for customers
Ringtones (and audiobooks) can't currently be re-downloaded from the store. If they are no longer on your device then have you not got them on your computer and/or on a backup ?

HT201272 To download previous purchased ringtones
How do you download previous purchased ringtones
Reply from iTunes Store Customer Support
Leslie here again.
There is no where for you to download them again for free- ringtones are not included in the iCloud feature. Applications can be redownloaded from the store at no additional cost- songs and movies can be redownloaded through iCloud (if they are available) but ringtones do not have that option. As I said, we can try to repost them for you but do not repurchase them unless you want to pay for them a second time. I encourage you to back up your purchases so you have the ability to restore them yourself if something happens to them.
If you want to know more about redownloading applications and other purchases let me know, and I'll be happy to provide you the redownload apps information and the iCloud information but this doesn't help you with ringtones.
I hope that this is helpful in resolving this matter.

HT201272 Downloading Previously Purchased Music
When I try to download music I previously purchased onto an authorized computer, it makes me click a 'Buy' button. I won't be charged for songs I already paid for, right?
What country are you in ? If the music appears in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer then you should be able to re-download them for free (as described here)
This page lists what content types can be re-downloaded where : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085 -
HT201272 Downloading previous purchases
Songs that I previously purchased are not showing up in my purchase list but they are still available on itunes. How can I download these previous purchases?
It doesn't need to have Lion to run the latest version of Safari. Open and run the Software Update pane of System Preferences, and keep running it until it doesn't show any updates.

HT201272 download previously purchased music to your iTunes
My issue is how do I get my past purchases to show on my iTunes purchase area????
This is where I have my problem???Audiobooks are not currently available for repeat download so they won't show in the "Purchased" section of your account. You ought to have made a backup from which you could have restored all your content. There is no obligation on them to do so, but if you ask the iTunes Store support team nicely they might make an exception and requeue your missing content.

HT201272 Is there a way to download previously purchased ring tones?
I there a way to download previously purchased ringtones? Purchased a new computer, and when sync'ing my iphone to the new computer I lost my previously purchased ringtones. They do not see to appear in the "purchased" listing which is songs, shows and movies???
Not sure why I received a message telling me that the ringtone I was about to purchase had already been purchased if you can't obtain from purchase history, but OK. That being the case, can ringtones be purchased on the computer rather than the phone so that the file is saved on my PC?
Thanks for your help. -
How do I download previously purchased albums from iTunes when the album has either disappeared from my computer or the tunes are not playable? The albums show as purchased on the iTunes store, but not available to download to my authorized device. I also have albums that appear in my library, but are not able to be added to my iPod from my computer
When you download something from the iCloud, it is a brand new licensed copy. Your iCloud account just contains a notation that you have this app. It isn't storing an actual copy of the app from your Mac.

I am finding the ability to download previous purchases now shown on my iCloud account to be difficult. Music appears fine and most movies are OK but I have problems with all music videos included with album purchases. Any ideas?

Firstly, I purchased my first iPhone a few years ago, since then there have been a lot of apps released, a lot which I downloaded for free, tried and deleted from both my phone and my iTune 'Apps' Panel. What bothers me is when I do get a new iOS device, iPad and/or iPhone 5, and I don't want to just copy the back-up of my current iOS device to the new one, then to get the apps I want I will have to scroll through countless useless 'trash' applications in my purchase history to 'cloud download' the ones I want.
Just sync the apps you want from your computer. You don't need to redownload them directly on the iPhone Purchased list.
Will Apple be employing such a feature, a 'permanently delete/un-purchase' feature?
Dunno.

HT201272 Re-download previously purchased music
I changed my OS and had to reload iTunes and my entire library. Some previously purchased albums do not play songs in their entirety. For instance if a song is longer than 3:33, it will stop at 3:33 and skip to the next song. I have tried to re-download previous purchases but am told it has already been downloaded. I just want to fix the album, how do I re-download an album I purchased?
Thanks. If you do Get Info (control-I) on one of those track then on its Options tab its 'stop time' isn't set to 3:33 ?
If you have the 'pointers' to them in your computer's iTunes library then it assumes that you already have them on there and that there is no need to re-download - try deleting them from iTunes (you don't have to delete the actual music files), and then try re-downloading them -
HT201272 Is there a limit on downloading previously purchased songs?
Is there a limit on downloading previously purchased songs?
I think what the message is saying is that if you download past purchases for that account then you will be tying the Mac to that account for 90 days - I was thinking that it was saying that it's already associated with an account, not that you are about to associate it. If you don't want that to happen (which if it's your only account then it shouldn't be an issue), then you should be able to copy the content from your other Mac to it via, for example, home sharing : copying content between computers.

How can I re-download previous purchases 2006-07 if I do not have the same PC?
ThanksThe ability to redownload past purchases is tied up to your iTunes account, not your computer. I don't know how far back in time Apple will have kept your purchase history. Presumably they now aim to keep it indefinitely but that may not have been the case in the past when you were only entitled to a single download.
