Can't find my audio book I purchased. If I go into purchases in iTunes there is no tab for audio books. How do I get it? Thanks, Dave

If it doesn't play then as they are a one-time download you will need to contact Apple in order to get a re-download or credit/refund. Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

I do not see any instructions for downloading audio book purchases to my iPad or iPhone via iCloud. Audio Book downloads through iBooks is not an option. I would appreciates some instructions as I switched exclusively to iCloud.

Correct. That is because audiobooks are not in icloud at all. The audiobook industry does not allow this.
Audiobooks cannot be redownloaded.
You must sync them.

We are fellow users here on these public forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum).
Audiobooks (and ringtones) are a one-time only download, whether you can redownload music, films and TV programmes will depend upon what country that you are in (they can't be redownloaded in all countries) and whether they are still in your country's store (content providers occasionally remove their items) - what you can redownload will show in the Purchased tabs in the iTunes and App Store apps, and the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, on your phone, and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
Any item that you can't redownload you will need to sync back to your phone from the backup of your downloads that you've been keeping (you are only guaranteed one download of each item from the store). If you haven't been keeping a backup, then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload.

I have purchased an audio book from iTunes with my iMac.
Now I wanted to listen to it on my iPhone so I proceeded to transfer the purchase and looked for the book in the purchased section of the store in the iTunes on my iPhone but it did not show up.
Does anyone know why and how I can transfer the audio book purchased on my iPhone so I can listen while away from the desk?

Can you find the audio book by using the Search feature on the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the audio book to the iPod?

Note you have to check the boxes in Books pane for the iPod in iTunes to sync books in general and another box to sync Audio Books.

That is correct. You cannot redownload audiobooks.

Everyone and it is not a problem. Audiobooks simply are not available for redownload.

I bought the audio books about a week or two before i got the new phone, and never backed up my old phone before i traded it in.

Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded. You should sync your audiobooks to other devices via iTunes on your computer.

What did you buy it on ? Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store so it will only download onto the device/computer that you bought it on - to get it onto other devices/computer you would need to sync/copy it.
If you bought it on your iPhone and it's not in its Music app (if you use the phone's seach field, pull down the centre of the homescreen, then does that find it ?) , then try a closing the Music app via the phone's multitasking bar and then re-open it and see if it then shows. If it doesn't then try a soft-reset and see if you can find it after the phone has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

Sorry, but unless you're willing to pay for them again, you're out of luck unless the iTunes Store is willing to grant you an exception. As RG said, Apple has not been granted a license to allow redownloading of audiobooks. You can contact the iTunes Store here and ask:

but don't be surprised if they say "no", and it may take a couple of days before you get a response at all other than the automated acknowledgement of your submission.

There is no menu in Safari. You need to go into the Settings app
and locate and select the Safari section.

How do I transfer an audio book purchased on my iphone to my MacBook?

I have the same Apple ID for both devices. When I go to iTunes on the labtop I can locate the same audio book but it appears as though I am purchasing it again. My understanding is that I can share my iTunes content across 3 devices. Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to go to purchases in iTunes and download it from there. There is also a setting for automatically downloading purchases made on other devices: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4539
