ITunes 10.5 won't connect to store, can't download songs on IPhone 4

I have an IPhone 4 and tried to download some songs from ITunes on my phone. I received a message that I can't download songs unless I upgrade the iOS. Went to upgrade and received message I had to upgrade to ITunes 10.5. Did this, however now I can't connect to the store. I receive a message stating that the network cannot connect and to check my settings. I have followed everything on here, uninstalled, reinstalled, Microsoft Fixit, run as administrator, firewalls, proxy server, even removed my antivirus, nothing works. Very frustrated and not sure what else to try???

What happened to my downloaded songs on iphone?

When I download songs from the music app on the iphone sometimes they dissapear and I need to re-download them from the cloud. Why does this happen? Is there a limit to how many can be downloaded on the phone? Does the downloaded songs expire? Some glitch?

I get it a lot, I think it might be if your phone thinks it is going to need the space if you are downloading an app. ALL of my library was deleted off my iPhone when I downloaded a new medical app update.
I think you just have to get used to it. I spoke to Apple about it and they had no idea why it happens.

How to download songs to iphone 6 plus from cloud backup

I have a boatload of sings in my Itunes account and I would like many of them on my new iPhone 6 plus. I see 7,000 plus songs listed but 99.9% have a cloud down arrow next to them. How do I download songs to my 6+ 128G phone?

HT201272 cloud download - songs missing?

I have recently had problem with laptop and had to have it wiped - so I downloaded my songs from the cloud. I have most of them around 3000 but a couple of hundred or so are still missing?
Although I have approx. 3000 on laptop the bar at top says I only have 350 purchases? I have another laptop in my home - using the same sign in this ones shows about 3200 purchased?
Can anyone help me please?

Probably the right answer depends on your device you are using to access itunes store - usually there is a "Puchased" tab (like iPad/iPodt/iPhone) or in iTunes app - in iTunes store under my account/the right side of the store content in main screen (you have to log in) there are quick links - with a "puchased" option you want to click.
it should be self apparent from there.

Downloading songs from iPhone 4 to second PC

So a virus killed my computer and everything's gone. Only some of it was backed up - my huge bad.
I've downloaded a number of songs from iTunes directly to my iPhone 4 and then downloaded those songs onto the computer that is now dead. My iTunes was set to 'manually add' if that makes a difference.
Most of those songs are still on my iPhone. I was wondering if it would be possible to download those songs to a second PC.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded songs to iPhone from cloud and now I can't get rid of them.

How do you get rid of music from the iPhone. I try to sync but they won't go away. I even turned off the cloud.

I did get rid of a few after I set the iphone to not show music which was in the cloud but I still have 2 albums that won't go away. Any more suggestions? Thanks for your help.

On my iTunes account I have songs from my old phone that are not on my new phone... In my account they have a little cloud with an arrow pointing down beside it, if I hit it and re download it, am I paying for that song again???

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

music can only be installed and listened to either via iTunes on your computer or by downloading from the iTunes Store, so stop wasting your time with other methods.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
Whilst you want seperate accounts, I assume this is to keep your contacts etc seperate, you can still both use the same iTunes account, which will allow you to share your music etc.

i do understand that. if you purchased the music on the phone. its still available to you. if you go in itunes on your computer. go to purchases. there should be all the music you have purchased. there you can download the song if it isn't already and then sync it to your phone which will add the song to the phone. have you tried to power off phone and then try to download again. the itunes way is just another option.

As a troubleshooting step, I would like for you to delete this file, then re-download it onto your computer using the information in the following article and see if that resolves the issue:
