I purchased a song on my laptop but it will no longer play....I think I may have moved the file trying to get some songs on my new phone and the computer cant find the file so I would like to redownload it.....can I do that?

Nope, it was a Verizon Wireless Store. I went in there in the first place because I trusted the Company for their professionalism, but I've been let down badly. I posted my story on here because I'm hoping to be able to get the attention of someone from Customer Service. It seems like the only way you can actually speak with a live person who knows what they are doing, is when you stop paying your bill on time. After you pay your bill, they transfer you to a poorly trained "rep" that has no authority to handle anything important. I'm actually a pretty patient person, but when it takes someone over 45 min mostly just to keep me on hold, and then tell me they can't help me, I'm not really impressed with their idea of customer service.

If you have a current broken entry for the song delete it from iTunes. If prompted don't hide it from iTunes in the Cloud. Then go to iTunes Store > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer. There should be a download link for the track there. You may sometimes need to close and reopen iTunes for it to update the list of available tracks.

how can i remove pictures from my droid turbo without having to use the touch screen on the phone at all? my screen is cracked and i am waiting on a replacement phone. as far as i can tell in order to access the phone storage through my computer, i have to use the touchscreen to enable it so that the computer will see it as a camera. I can't do that as the top half of the touschscreen is unresponsive. any suggestions? teaches me to use the backup services offered in the future, but i still need a short term solution for this time.

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Although there is no formal list of OSX error code some of the old codes still apply to OSX .)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
Try quitting iTunes, then deleting the .xml (not .itl !) version of the library file in the iTunes folder (iTunes will generate a new one).

When finished editing click File->Save/Save As and you can either overwrite the original file or rename it and save as new file keeping original intact.

If you are in the US then yes, you can re-download past music purchases (assuming that they are still available in the store). If you are not in the US then have you not got a backup anywhere of your music purchases ?

Disclaimer: I am actually asking this for a family member, but I don't have an answer for her either.
My family member has an iPad with music on it currently. This music is music bought from iTunes and music bought from other sources.
Her computer died a few months ago and she does not intend on replacing it.
She just bought an iPhone and would like to copy the music from her iPad to her new iPhone.
I had originally thought that iTunes Match would work for this, but the Apple Support article regarding iTunes Match (iTunes Store: Subscribing to iTunes Match) suggests that it requires a computer w/ iTunes to do the initial update.
I'm willing to consider approaches from either, Apple or third-party.
If it helps, her iPad and iPhone are both running iOS 7.

The answer is, "you don't".
Music other than that purchased from the iTunes store had to be synced to the device using iTunes on a computer. The media should still exist on that computer. She can use the computer to sync the music to the new device.
An iPad or iPhone is NOT a backup device. In order to set it up to sync to a new computer were she to replace hers, the media on the device would have to be erased before anything could be synced to it. Media synced to the device can not be synced back to a computer (without purchasing 3rd party software). Without a computer and iTunes, it's not possible to transfer media from one iDevice to another, even with 3rd party software.

I thought macs were suppose to be easy to use. I just bought this imac and I want to get my notes from my iphone to the computer but I can't figure it out. I don't want to use the icloud. I simply want my notes to transfer from my iphone to the computer.

When connected to iTunes on the computer, select the iPhone in the device pane. Go to the Info page for the phone in iTunes and scroll down to the Other section. There you will see the option to check to sync notes, and a selection for what program to sync them with. You will only see a selection if you have something to sync them with on your computer.

You are most welcome! And glad that things continue to work well. I knew about that song vs. album thing, because when you go into an iTunes album that you have purchased a song from, it says Purchased next to the song. But, when you go into another album that has that song, it is still "purchase-able". Make sense that iTunes would have no idea of where the exact duplicate of that song might be, because it is often the case that when the same song appears in a different album, it isn't an exact duplicate - maybe it's live, maybe it's 2 minutes longer....
So, hopefully that does explain the "duplicates". Think of it in "real" (vs. virtual) terms. If you bought a single from a record store, and then bought an album that also had that same song on it, you would have two of them. Despite the fact that it is a virtual purchase, it works the same way. Except that iTunes keeps track of the "singles" that you purchase, and if you are purchasing the same album that you bought the single from, you don't pay for it again - something a "real" record store wouldn't be able to do. Bonus!!!
It's only when you purchase a different album with that song on it that you will have a duplicate....
