How i authorize my computer to download past purchases on it?
how i authorize my computer to download past purchases on it?
All you have to do is sign in to the apple store inside iTunes. If is doesn't show up automatically go to the Store menu > Authorize This Computer... You will have access to all of your purchases.

My Mac Hard disk recently broke and was replaced. Now, although my computer is authorised in itunes store, it won't let me re-download purchased items (esp OSX Lion). How can I make computer re-download previous purchases?
Never mind - I didn't realize that I just needed to wait a while for the Cloud stuff to cycle through and load. Solved!

I must authorize my computer before download previous purchase? what should i do next?
I just download Itunes in a "new Computer" but each song only plays for 1.30 minutes , so I understand that I have to place it i nthe cloud , when I try I git this winodw that says: you must authorize this computer before download previous purchases. Doesnt show me what do I have to do next
You can authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (if you are using iTunes 11 on a PC then control-B should get the menus to show)
e.g.
You can't put songs into the cloud yourself unless you subscribe to iTunes Match and upload them from your computer's iTunes to it. If you want to redownload your iTunes purchased music then you might be able to via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (redownloading music isn't possible in all countries) :
Or you can copy your library from your old computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Or from your backup (File > Add To Library) -
HT201272 How do I authorize my computer to download previous purchases?
I have downloaded a few songs on another computer that is not my own. Now these songs appear on the iTunes music list on my own computer and I ould like to listen to them, but in order to do that I must download them again. However, when I try to download them, iTunes does not allow the process to begin. A window saying "Your computer is not authorized. You must authorize this computer before you can download previous purchases." So my question as stated above it how do I authorize my computer to do that??!

How does one authorize another computer to play previously purchased music?
I have recently downloaded a ITunes software on a new computer. I would like to authorize the computer to listen to previously purchased music.
My understanding is that we can share music on Itunes on up to five computers.
I woud appreciate if someone could share a document on how to authorize mulitple computer to a single account.
Thank you
mfinegan67There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -
Authorizing computer for downloading previously purchased music
How do I authorize a computer to download the music I purchased on my iPad?
It sounds like you aren't doing this right.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later. Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid. Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
You will have to contact iTunes Customer service about possibly getting a refund. -

Hello bsmith1039,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can use these steps to authorize your computer to play and downlad iTunes Store purchases:
Open iTunes on the computer you want to authorize.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You might need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
