HT201272 I have songs that are waiting to be downloaded but never download

I have songs that are sitting in the purchased section of my itunes that say waiting to be downloaded , but they never download.

Try to delete them (swipe left or right and hit the remove button) and then re-download them. If that doesn't work then restart your phone.

    You can delete individual songs, artists, albums, playlists, compilations and composers from your iPhone. To delete an item, swipe across it, then tap Delete.

    Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
    The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

  • HT201210 Have apps that are waiting but will not download

    I updated my iPad 3 with the new iOS and now most of my apps are waiting but not downloading. I tried turning it off, signing in and out but nothing works. Please help

    If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

    my iTunes 10.6.1 on OS X 10.7.3 has been telling me 'you have 1 item awaiting download' for the last 3 or four days.
    but, when i select '1 iTunes download available' in download or 'download now' in iTunes account or Store/Check for Available Downloads, nothing downloads and the message remains.
    i've tried downloading a free tv episode to clear the count or reset the count.  it says 2 downloads availabe and the free episode does indeed download. then the message goes back to 1 available.
    can anyone suggest how to resolve this problem?

    Go to your main itunes library > 'store' on the toolbar > 'check for available downloads' and then it'll ask you to initiate automatic downloads and hopefully it'll find the items you bought and never downloaded and download them successfully! Hope this helps.

    iTunes Match has been making a bunch of mistakes in the matching, like substituting clean for explicit, Spanish versions for English, etc.  Unfortunately, it cannot be trusted.  Make sure that you have your own backup of all your music.

    Sorry, but you can't. iTunes can neither import nor play any protected Windows Media content. You'll have to ask the source of your tracks how to get them unprotected, if such a service is offered.

    Hello,  I have songs that show they are "Waiting" for download from the cloud but they are greyed out.  Some songs in one album are done others in the same album will not download. It is not a time function because i have been working on this for weeks. I have allowed my compter to run for days and the songs are still not accessible.  I have a Match subscription and Match is working.  If I click on the "Genre" link the greyed out songs show that they are ready for download from the cloud but I cannot download them.  I have downloaded over 1500 other songs, so I am trying to understand what is going on here. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

    I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

  • HT201272 What is it with songs that are not from the itunes store, but are coming from cd's and other download sources that all of a sudden do not play on my iphone and have a red stop button in a red round circle around them, behind the title?

    Songs that I have had previously downloaded from various other sources, but NOW ALL of a sudden they DO NOT PLAY on my IPHONE and DISPLAY a RED STOP BUTTON in a red round circle next to the title.  Everytime I click on it it DOESNT play.   What happen???? How can i get them to play.,   Why should i have to pay for the songs, and why are they in the ITUNES store and not in my regular playlist.

    Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
    I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
    You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
    The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
    Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
    The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

  • There are songs that I have purchased that are not showing up in my iTunes or in my cloud.

    I purchased these songs a couple years back maybe in like 2010 maybe even before that. When I brought a new iPhone and Mac I assumed all of my music would be in my iCloud but there are multiple sons that I have purchased that are not there.
