HT201272 Im trying to download my old songs on my new laptop. I am on homesharing with another computer, my files should have been on his pc right? My Ipod erased my songs so im putting them back on, all of my songs arnt anywhere to be found or have a miss

All my songs have gone missing from my past itunes acount even though I had homesharing, tried all of the things on itunes support and none have helped me most of the songs on itunes homesharing have a missing content symbol, and its getting fustrating now, Please help us find a solution

Media is only where you put it.
Having Home Sharing turned on does nothing to ensure the media stays put.
Why do you believe your media should be on "his pc"?
Where was the media at toe begin with?

  • IOS8.0.2 removed every song from iPod and won't sync to put them back

Okay, I'm working with two iPod Touchs right now on a fully updated iTunes on a PC. My iPod is not fully updated (8.0), yet I just now synced it and it gave me the songs I had recently downloaded and organized my playlists just fine.
However, I'm trying to sync my sister's iPod. It's been updated to 8.0.2 and when I first tried to sync it, it removed every song from her library. I still have my library on my computer/iTunes, but her iPod is blank. All music has been removed save from some of the recently added and few obscure songs (18 songs in total, when we have >5000).
When I try to sync it again, it recognizes that I want to add every single song. The memory bar at the bottom shows the memory that I intend to use up with all of the music. However, when it syncs, it tells me that it's 'Waiting for changes to be applied'. After about 5 minutes of that, the entire blue bar of music that is supposed to take up the iPod's memory vanishes and the iPod remains unsynced.
To be fair, I did recently update this iPod that is not working. It was working on iOS 6 before but I updated it now. Maybe that's the reason it's not working now, but I have no idea how to find a solution to this.
-I've restarted my computer, iTunes, and the iPod.
-I do not have any missing/exclamation marked songs.
-The iPod is set to automatically back up.
-I've tried both 'syncing the entire music library' and 'filing extra memory with songs'.
Does anyone have any idea how this can be solved? Thank you.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If you are in the U.S., then download them from the cloud:

A ton of songs disappeared from my iTunes, but not off my iPod. How do I put them back?

Select all the songs you want to be in one album, right click and choose "Get Information", delete the album name, if any, and type the one you want. You can also paste the Artwork in the right bottom box. Then click "Accept".

  • I tried too download too many songs unto my ipod

    please help me.
    I'm such a loser.
    ha.
OK. so, I had about 960 songs on my ipod and I was updating it today and this a message came up saying that I had tried to download too many songs. The ipod could either choose the songs I wanted on my ipod for me or I could choose. I got confused, and said the ipod should choose for me. On itunes along with all my regualr songs there is now a playlist with about 900 songs of the ones they picked. When I updated my ipod the only thing that was on it was said playlist. So I of course freak out, go into itunes and delete that list. Once the list is delated I plug my ipod back into the computer and come back only to find that all the songs on my ipod are gone. everything. However, even though the playlist is gone the 900 something orginal songs still remain on itunes itself. After freaking out again, I try to plug my ipod back in to see if now it will put the 968 songs back unto the ipod, it doesn't. I delete some songs off my itunes that I can live without.. still nothing. I only have 3.73 GBs on my mini ipod so the space can't be taken up can it?
can I get my songs back on my ipod??

Use the instructions in this article to set the iPod to sync manually, and then drag the songs you want on the iPod to the iPod in the iTunes source list. The message you got means that your iTunes library is too big for all of it to fit on the iPod.

(After my old laptop blew, it won't turn on anymore). I've invested quite a bit of money into my music, and it'd be a bummer if it's all gone to waste.
    Thanks in advance!

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • My iphone 4s deleted all of my books, music, and podcasts from my phone and now will not allow me to put them back on there.

As stated in the title, I was redownloading old purchases. After transferring a tv show onto my iphone it would not allow me to transfer another one. I wasn't able to locate the show on my phone, so then I checked my music. All of my music and podcasts were missing. My books were showing up at first, but then as soon as I closed out of one that I was reading and clicked on a different one they all vanished as well. I tried dragging on a song, a book, a show, and I kept getting the circle with the line through it. I have no idea what to do. My phone has always been set up to manually manage music and videos. When I selected to sync all music it still wouldn't do anything.
I've also recently, within the past 4 hours, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes because it kept crashing when I was trying to download my old purchases. I've done it before and haven't had any issues with it deleting anything before. I'm in the process of restoring my phone in the hopes that this will work, but I don't know if it will.
Anyone out there that can help me?

iPhone 3G is Old technology. When it was launched it had iOS 2.0. Currently, the highest it can go is iOS 4.2.1 and therefore can not handle many newer applications. As you have recorded, it is giving good service for which it has been designed.
Needless to say, if you want to use applications as stated, you must have at least 3GS, whose current is iOS 6.1.2. On the lighter side; Rather than updating iOS they are asking you to update iPhone (Technology). Cheers

  • I upgraded my iphotos and now all my photos are gone in all my albums.  How do I find them and put them back in? (1800 photos.)  Help.

I upgraded my iphotos and now all my photos are gone in all my albums. (1800 photos.) How do I find them
and put them back where they belong?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.
