HT201272 My computer crashed, how can I recover my downloded songs

My computer crashed recently.  Although I recovered most of my material, I couldn't recover the songs which I downloded.  How can I recover them.  I would appreciate any help.  John Szabo

What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system was it running on and will it be running on?
On how many computers do you already have this same purchased activated serial number? Assuming just the computer that crashed?
If just that one crashed computer, then just install the program from your installation files or installation disc.
But, make sure your installation files or installation disc for the crashed computer will be supported by the new computer.
If you already have the same purchased activated serial number on two computers (crashed and another one), then you will need to deactivate
this purchased activated serial number for the other non crashed computer before trying to install on the new computer.
We can give you more details on Deactivation once we know the program version.
Adobe allows the purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. And you cannot use them at the same time.
Please review. If any questions or need clarification, please ask.
Thank you.

  • Following repeated crashing of Firefox 3.6.11, I was required to amend my profiles to correct a security error (I got an ssl error) by deleting cert8.db file. I have lost all my browsing history in the crash, how can I recover it?

The problem originated from Talktalk's Assist & Go software interfering with my browser settings. This caused Firefox to repeatedly crash with message (see below)I then got error "ssl_error_ssl_disabled" when trying to access my webmail- I followed the help instructions and deleted the cert8.db file whcih allowed Firefox to start & me to access my webmail.
But all the browsing history has disappeared, I had about 6 months prior to the crash, how can I recover it, is there a backup?

    Hi,
If the tracks were not in your iTunes library on your computer when you subscribed to match, I am afraid that they are lost. Do you have a separate back up of this music?

  • My computer crashed; how can I sync to another without info loss?

EDIT: ACK! I put this in the wrong section D: Sorry ._.
My computer crashed last night, so now I'm on my mother's. I'd like to sync this iPod to it so that I can back up all of the files, just in case something happens to my iPod.
However, iTunes has sensed that my iPod is synced with another, which I can't reach anymore, seeing as my computer can't even turn on.
How do I get around this? I really can't afford to lose everything. I've already lost about $10 of music that I never got around to putting on my iPod...
Someone please help </3 I've had a very, very bad day...

Playing from iTunes without downloading is streaming during play.  iPod can't stream unless it is a version with wifi. So you need to download files then syn iPod with iTunes.
I do this for my iPod since my wife and I use same iTunes account.  If I allow auto syncing it mixes my podcasts with hers, subscriptions, plays, and deletes.

  • My computer with my original library has crashed, how can i keep all the songs on my iphone, but still add new songs from my new library?

My computer has died and will not be working ever again. Problem is, i have all of my songs on that computer in my itunes library as well as on my phone. Now i want to add some songs to my phone from some new cds and it tells me i will loose all my songs on my phone right now when i perform the sync. How can i keep all of the songs on my iphone because now i do not have copies of these songs anymore except on my iphone?????? From what i have read, itunes is a joke because it only goes one way apparently. Not happy with itunes right now, more then a bit of a joke

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, big mistake, then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer:  File>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to buy a 3rd party program to get any other music off of the iphone ( not supported by Apple).
When you sync the iphone, it will erase the current content and replace with content form the new computer.
"Not happy with itunes right now, more then a bit of a joke"
Not itunes fault that you did not do the very basics and maintain a backup copy.

  • Old computer crashed, how can I use my ipod mini on my new computer. I no longer have the original itunes software cd.

I have an ipod mini. My computer crashed and no longer have software. Can I still use my mini to go into itunes and buy music? I have a new computer, windows 7. Thanks.

Yes, you should still be able to use your iPod Mini on your new Windows 7 PC. Simply download iTunes from Apple's website and you should be good to go.  You don't need the original software that came with it anymore as it's now bundled with the iTunes application.

  • Computer Crashed - How can I restore Ipod Library

My computer crashed and I needed to replace the hard drive. I have re dowloaded I tunes, but when I connect my Ipod it says my Ipod is connected to another PC. I had spent months setting up my Ipod and loading ALL my CD's onto it not to mention my purchases music/games/videos the thought of starting all again is killing me. Is there a simpler answer out there? Additionally I have since bought a laptop and ideally I would also like to have the information stored on both for when I am travelling, would this be possible too? Cheers for any help with this.

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved, also it was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation as the iPod preferences are no longer in the location described. Also it won't transfer playlists or videos as far as I know. However if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. Relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Computer crashed, how can I get Photoshop Ele. Back?

My computer crashed last week and I had Photoshop Elements 9 installed on it. It has been quite a few years since I bought the program and I have since lost the disc during the multiple moves I've went through. Is there any way I could redownload it somehow without paying for it again? My computer is basically trash now so there's no real way for me to get the program off or deactivate it.
Please, any helo you can give would be much appreciated.

If you registered it with Adobe you can check My Account and get s/n and see if download link exists.  PSE forum is http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements

  • Computer Crashed - How Can I Get My Songs Back?

My computer crashed so I had to reinstall itunes. Now when I plug in my ipod shuffle it tells me my ipod is linked to another library and asks if I want to replace all of my songs with the songs from this library. I have over 200 songs on my ipod, many that I bought and I don't want to lose them all. Is there any way that I can get the songs on my ipod shuffle onto my itunes?

Are the songs only on the pod? It also sounds like from the urgency that you don't have a backup. Computers crash or hardware fails all the time, this is why backups are soooo important. Lecture over, sorry about that.
This link has several suggestions to getting the music off the pod.

DD's computer crashed last week - now has a new computer. We need to get songs from 20 G color/photo ipod onto new computer. Apple help pages only seem to give you options using your old computer to set ipod to transfer music. Can anyone direct us to information on getting ipod linked to new computer and transfering music over?
