HT201272 remove apps permanently

I want to know how to permanently delete apps from my account..  My son downloaded some crap (lesbian short stories, Hooters Screen Wash, etc) that I want GONE. Not off my iPhone, not off my iTunes, OFF MY ACCOUNT.  I removed them, then I see available downloads and they come back on the list.  I will never reinstall them.  They were free anyway.  There has to be a way to purge them like they were never accessed.  My wife keeps seeing them as a option, doesn't understand the technology AND I GET ****.

Removing apps from your purchase history is now possible in iTunes 10.5.
Here's how you do it:
1. Upgrade your version of iTunes to 10.5 (released October 11, 2011).
2. Click on iTunes Store in the lefthand column of iTunes and log in to your account.
3. Find "Purchased" in the Quick Links menu on the right hand side of the Store home page. Click on it.
4. You should see a list of your downloaded apps on the screen. Mouse over any app that you wish to delete. A small "x" in a round circle will appear in the top left corner of the app icon. Click the "x".
5. A notification will pop up telling you that your purchased app will now be hidden and how you can un-hide it in the future. Click OK. The app will disappear from your purchase history in iTunes and all associated iOS devices instantly. Verify this on your iOS device by navigating to your purchase history in the App Store.
BUT
My kids are old enough to find this "hidden" CRAP in iTunes. They read these forums too.

How do I remove apps from my app purchased list on my iphone?

How do you remove 1) products from the "purchased" list; and 2) "the device" whether iPhone or iPad.
I just had to restore my iPad because the latest security update didn't install correctly; and all the old apps that I purchased re-appeared.
    STOP, for cryin-out-loud!

  • HT201304 Can I remove apps from my purchase list

Can I remove apps from my purchase list..?

No. You can hide them from the Purchases section of the iTunes Store through iTunes on a computer (or your iPad if it's still running iOS 5):

but there's no way to remove apps permanently, nor can they be removed nor hidden in the Purchase History.

  • App store - permanently remove apps

Hi, I'm BJ from Wellington, NZ. I was just wondering if there is a way to permanently remove app entries from the app store - via view account. The only help entries I have seen talk about removing an app from a specific computer or device. This is good to a point but it can still be seen via iCloud or the App Store. I want a feature where I can change my mind and decide I do not want to ever see an app again on any device.
Surely I am not the only one who wants this! I want a way that I can remove it permanently so I never, and I mean never see it again. If anybody has any tips or pointers, look forward to hearing these.
    Cheers.

I'm not ssure what the issue is, if you delete an app from your devices and hide it in the Purchases, the only way that you should see it is if you went looking for it.

  • HT201322 How do you remove hidden purchased apps permanently?

How do you remove hidden purcased iphone applications (Apps) permanently?
When you delete the app from your iphone and also the from you Mac computer, they are just hidden and not deleted pernanently !!!!
There isn't and option to allow you to do this. Maybe this is a safeguard to secure and not to accidently delete purchases but as with most delete functions 2 or more levels can be built in with confirmation at each to minimise this but ultimately the user's need the option to completely temove all unwanted items purchased or not.

You can't delete the purchase record as far as I know.
You can hide it from reappearing as a purchase to download:

  • HT201272 how do I remove apps

I want to remove youtube from the main window and block access to it.

press the icon on the device for the particular app you wish to delete until all of the icons on the screen start to wiggle. Once they are wiggling you will also see the symbol appear in the upper left-hand corner of each icon as shown in the image below.
To Permanently delete an app from your iTunes library and iPad, iTouch, or iPhone
-start iTunes and under the Library category click on the Apps section. You will now be at a screen similar to the one below that shows all of the apps installed in the iTunes library and thus on your computer's hard drive.
To remove the app permanently you should right-click on the icon for the app you wish to remove and select delete. iTunes will then prompt if you wish to delete the App from your library as well as delete it off of your hard drive. Answer yes to both of these questions and the app will be removed from your library and computer.

How can I permanently remove apps from my iphone, ipad, ipod operating in the iCloud?

Apps don't operate in the cloud - they're either downloaded to your device, or they're in your Purchased list. You can't permanently remove the history of apps you've purchased, but you can hide them. See this link:

Is there a way to remove a buggy app permanently?  iKlavier is useless, but keeps trying to update via the app store.  It never actually updates and I want to remove all traces of it.  I have deleted it multiple times from my iPad, but it won't go away!  Thanks!

Try deleting it in iTunes on your computer as well. Launch iTunes and click on apps under the library heading on the left side. Right click on the app and select delete. Follow the onscreen prompts to completely trash the app from your computer. Then sync your iPad and see if the update notifications go away.

  • Do I still need to sync my phone to remove apps and other content

I used to have to synch my iPhone with iTunes on my computer to remove apps and things like podcasts from my phone so they did not up storage space. Is this still true? I seldom use my computer and just leave iTunes open for household sharing.

Hacking an iPhone is only "legal" in regards to potential copyright issues.
Hacking an iPhone for any reason is against Apple's license agreement for the iPhone, is not supported by Apple directly or indirectly via these discussions, and voids the warranty.
None of this will change if you choose to hack your iPhone.
Jailbreaking is considered "Fair Use" by our government and this is the one and only meaningful sense in which it is legal. It is legal, period. Any discussion of license agreements has nothing to do with the legality of jailbreaking.
Apple can have their own terms of use/license agreement and it can (and does) go beyond what the government will allow/disallow. But you risk no civil or criminal penalties for jailbreaking.
And... as already discussed, jailbreaking is not a physical act, not permanent, and you can unjailbreak at any time and Apple would be clueless.
    So do that.

  • Delete app permanently

2nd try, Apple Support? deleted my first post , as they think it exceeded the Terms, I've gotta disagree having just reread them in detail.
    So, to business.
I have trialed a lot of free apps that I wish to remove from the phone & itunes permanently, from everywhere, no reference left at all.
I have read many posts about removing apps but the 'purchase' history is left behind, not good enough, I want everything gone, including history, I need to know how to remove this rubbish history.
Every other piece of software I have ever bought for any device allowed me to uninstall it completely so I can divine no reason not to provide this feature.
I know about the 'ability to reload purchases' stuff but these app's were free so this is irrelevant.  Even if they were paid for surely it is my right to remove them completely fully understanding that if required again I will need to buy them again.

And what would you like us users to do for you?

  • How can I remove apps from my iPad

How can I remove apps from my iPad? It does not have the little "x" option on the iPad like the iPhones.

It works just the same as an iPhone. A long hold on an icon will cause them all to start wobbling, drag to move around or tap the X to remove. You can't remove any of the built-in apps so these won't get an X to tap.

How to remove apps in iOS 5? I press and hold an Icon like would in iOS4 it starts shaking but x mark does not appear to delete.

    @ Artakv
Check that you haven't enabled Restrictions, you can turn toggle the ability to delete apps through there.
    Goto:
    Settings
    General
    Restrictions
    Enter your Restrictions Passcode
Scroll down and check to see if Deleting Apps has been enabled (On - so can delete) or disabled (Off - so CAN'T delete).

  • Refund for a removed app?

Hello everyone, this is my first discussion thread here.
Itroductions later, can you get a refund for a removed app that you bought?
I recently purchased a app by the name of xRec that was removed from the app Store today, one minute it was there next second, it was gone.
The app allowed you to record your home screen on your iPod/iPhone and was removed today.
It originally cost 1.99 and I was wondering if Apple will refund me my money and furthermore, does Apple refund people of apps that were removed?
    Thank you.

The apps/iTunes store staff are usually very good and considerate of users.
You can always elevate your concern to Apple headquarters or another arm of the company found on: http://www.apple.com/contact
There may be a very good reason why the app was removed, but it would definitely have been helpful to inform or respond quickly to users who purchased the app as to why it was removed.
Good luck and hopefully you will get a satisfactory response soon.
