HT201272 Trying to download lost purchases and it is not working...

I am trying to download my previous music purchases from iTunes. Some of my music was backed up on an old drive and a lot of the newer purchases were lost. It says that those files were "downloaded" and I am unable to re-download them. Is there some other way I am able to redownload the purchases that were lost? Thanks!

If you have the files or partial files somewhere on your device the iTunes store will tell you that they have already been downloaded. You can try to delete them from your library by holding Option and delete keys. Then if the store does not detect them, I think you can fool it into downloading them again. They say that your purchases are always available even if you delete them.

Open iTunes 10.6 or later on your computer. (You can download the latest version of iTunes here.)
If you're not already signed in, click Sign In, and enter your Apple ID and password.
After you've signed in, click Purchased on the right side in the iTunes Store under the QUICK LINKS section.
From your Purchased page, click the tab for the content type you're looking for (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books).
Click Songs or Albums to change the page view and All or "Not in My Library" to view your purchased content that currently is not downloaded on your computer.
Click the download icon to the right of each item to download that item.
Notes:
To download previous purchases on a computer, your computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that was used for the original purchase. For more information about iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization see, this article.
If they are offered for purchase in 1080p, you can download previously purchased 720p HD TV shows and movies in 1080p. Learn more about downloading in 1080p.
Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.

Have you downloaded the Application Manager?
You may try to restart the Creative Cloud application by quitting and relaunching it.

I'm trying to download Stuffit Expander and it's not working

I've downloaded several programs, i.e. Yahoo Messenger and BuzMe(Mac versions), but I get blank icons. When I clicked on the icons, it said I have to choose and application to open them with. I went to download StuffIt Expander and when I click to download it, I get a page full of symbols(I downloaded the version for Mac 10.3 and higher). I don't know how I'm going to get this to work. Try right clicking/control clicking on the download link and selecting "Download Linked File". Alternatively, if StuffIt email you the location of the download file, paste that address into the (Safari?) address bar and press option+return to download it.

I would first try resetting the iPod:

Very weird day in Firefoxland
First on a Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 I respond to an invitation to upgrade to Firefox 4 (like a lot of others). Long story short, I wind up losing the browser altogether -- including all bookmarks. Why? Because neither the Firefox homepage (or CNET downloads) makes it clear that 4.0 is for OS 10.5 only! Amazing!
Then I try to register to post a reply in a thread that crits Firefox for not making this System Requirements info upfront clear. But the Register page I’m taken to (https://support.mozilla.com/bs/users/register) is in SERBO-CROATIAN!!
Then I try to log into Chat a couple of times and when it’s not CLOSED its a long line waiting and THEN it closes.

I have downloaded an app and it does not work

I downloaded two apps. They are both are the same application, on;y difference is that one is the 2.0 version and the other 3.0 version.
When I downloaded the 2.0 version I thought this was the latest version, but turns out there was another newer version. But I tried the 2.0 version first and this does not work on my mac. The application is Wondershare Data Recovery. It is not able to see any devices on my mac.
So tried the 3.0 version and again same problem, does not work, funny because after careful researching on what product to buy I decided to download the trial version and it works fine. Only thing is that I need to but the full version to successfully retrive my disappeared images from memeory card, from my camera phone.
anyway the point is, I have just wasted £95, and I would like this back, or at least the problem resolved. Any help would be appreciated.

I only find the v3.0 in the UK Mac App Store (MAS). But on the developer's website I find two separate apps; Wondershare Data Recovery for Mac, which is v3.0 and Wondershare Data Recovery for iTunes, which is v2. Where did you buy Data Recovery for iTunes? I don't find it sold in either the MAS or the iTunes App Store.
Have you used the support link to the developer on the apps pane in the MAS? That is who Apple will direct you to contact.
Did you remove the trial version before downloading and installing the paid MAS version(s)?

I have an older nano (4th gen?) and it will not shut off and when you try to skip through songs it skips itself back. Buttons seem to be pushing themselves. I've tried doing a hard reset and it did not work.

My older nano is not working. I have to keep it plugged in all the time because it does not shut off. The buttons only work sometimes and then they scroll and skip forward and backward by themselves. I have checked updates and I have also reset it back to factory and it is not working.

My Ipad 2 will not power on. I have tried the two button approach but it did not work. Until last evening, the Ipad was working very well. After it entered the sleep mode, it would not come back on. What can I do?

The first thing to suspect is a completely drained battery. When this happens the iPad shuts down and will not turn on. Even if you charge the iPad it may take more than 30 minutes before it responds. Plug the iPad into the charger that came with it and plug the charger into a known good wall outlet. Do not charge the iPad by connecting it to a computer. Wait 30 minutes. Then reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%. If the iPad does not restart consider making an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

I dropped my external HD on my hard tile floor and now the drive is not working properly. I have tried a repair in Disc Ultilies with First Aid with no such luck. It started to work then I got a message "Filesystem verify or repair failed" about 3-4 minutes into the first aid repair disk. Unfortunately, a drive that has been mechanically damaged by a drop and can't be repaired using Disk Utility probably can't be fixed any other way either. The best you can hope for is to salvage as much data from the drive as possible using one of the data recovery utilities linked below, and then replace the drive.
