  • Where are contacts saved on iPhone 4?

On my previous phone (Nokia 5800 XM) I could choose between phone mamory and SIM card to save contacts; in iPhone, that option doesn't seem to exist.
So my question is, where are new contacts saved (iPhone's memory or SIM card)?
    Thank you.
Note: If there's a way to choose between phone memory and SIM card, please let me know.

Ren't showing up on my IPad 2. When checking "usage" in the general area, it shows to be there, but there is no "Icon" to start the game.
any suggestions....I've restarted, and even backed it up to my PC and tried drag-n-drop from there, but still same results.

I have tried much of the same - still no joy.
I also reported it as a bug to Apple although the response page said "we can't reply to messages"
For now I have had to turn off auto syncing and keep plugging and unplugging until the device is recognised correctly - about 1 in 10.
In my email to apple I also listed the contents of the xml file that keeps track of the devices that iTunes has seen:
    When seen as an ipad:
    <dict>
    <key>Connected</key>
    <date>2010-06-08T21:33:57Z</date>
    <key>Device Class</key>
    <string>iPad</string>
    <key>Family ID</key>

    <key>Firmware Version</key>
    <integer>256</integer>
    <key>Firmware Version String</key>

    <integer>10006</integer>
    <key>Use Count</key>
    <integer>21</integer>
    </dict>
    When seen as an iPhone:
    <dict>
    <key>Connected</key>
    <date>2010-06-08T21:39:07Z</date>
    <key>Device Class</key>

    <key>Firmware Version</key>

    <integer>10006</integer>
    <key>Use Count</key>
    <integer>22</integer>
    </dict>
You will see from the Use Count that these are adjacent connections, ie plugged in as ipad then as iphone. Apart from the device class, everything else is the same.

  • Where are my Ringtones?

I have recently upgraded to Itunes 9 and purchased a ringtone. Despite checking that when syncing this are ticked and checking my computer is authorised is am unable to find or use it on my iphone 3GS. There are several discussions on here highlighting this problem but does anyone have an answer as to where they might be hiding on my iphone???

How did you buy the ringtone?
Does it show up under your library in itunes under the ringtone category?
Itunes purchased/created ringtones are available in the U.S. only at this time.
As of the latest software, you can download ringtones directly to the iphone. Not sure if this applies in all countries or not.

  • ITunes 9 where are the ringtones

I just upgraded to iTunes 9 and all the "bell" ringtones are not showing any more in my music library. Also when I search for music in the iTunes store and I no longer see which songs can be used for ringtones. Any idea what's going on?

That's the exact thing I am trying to figure out, I have spent almost the whole day trying to figure out where the "bell" icon went to see if the song is available for ringtone format. Even though I know that you can look for the ringtones directly on your phone but I want to create my own. any idea?
I'm sorry I wasn't much help. I just wanted to share my frustration as well.

  • Just downloaded itunes - where are my previous purchases?

Hi, I just downloaded itunes on my PC. I have purchased many songs from itunes in the past. (However, the computer from which I made those purchases got refreshed.)
Anyway, I'm not sure what to do to see my purchases in iTunes. I have logged in. I have authorized the PC. (Currently, it is the only computer authorized.)
I don't see a Purchased folder. Why not?
If I go to Store->View my Account, I can see my recent purchase history. So why aren't those purchases visible in the folders?
    Thanks!

Your purchases will only be where you put them.  They do not magically appear on a new computer.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backcup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup , not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT201272 Where are the audiobooks and how do I get them back?

I can't find the audiobooks I have deleted from my iPhone and iPad to download again. Can anyone explain how to do this?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store. Do you have copies of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library and/or on a backup ?  If not and they are still in the store, then you can try contacting iTunes and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • HT1848 Where are the transferred purchases from an iDevice stored on the PC?

So I clicked 'Transfer Purchases' in iTunes (for my iPad) and the transfer has begun. However, where exactly is all this data going to get transferred? And will it include all the app data too? And can I transfer it back to my iPad in the future in case I restore the iPad? Please help!

"Transfer purchases" copies purchased media and apps that aren't already in your library, into the library. The content will go the normal locations, e.g. apps to <Media Folder>\Mobile Applications etc. App data gets included in the device backup. Other media not purchased from the iTunes store should already be in your library, if not see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Where are in-app purchases charged to?

I was wondering if I bought an in-app purchase would it be billed to my phone bill or my itunes credits?

In-app purchases are billed to the same payment method as any other iTunes Store purchase you make. They will not appear on your phone bill (not unless the app developer is doing something strange and probably not allowed by the iTunes Store).
    Regards.

  • HT201272 Where does iTunes store purchased audiobooks?

I have purchased audiobooks from the iTunes store.  They are on my Mac, but I can't find them in iTunes to listen to on my devices.  When I click on "purchased," my choices are music (no audio books listed), movies, and TV shows.  If I go through iBooks, I can find only my books in text.  Do you have any advice?

Audiobooks are a one-time only download, so they only way to get them onto a different computer or device is by syncing or transferring them (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy them from a device to your computer's iTunes). As well as the films and TV programmes that you say that you back up you should also back up any music and apps that you download as there is no guarantee that any item will remain in the store for future redownloading (content providers occasionally remove them) - and with apps there is also the potential issue of an app being updated in the store and then requiring a higher iOS version that your device(s) support, so you would need to keep a compatible version.

  • HT1711 Where are the ringtones?

I would like to view & purchase some ringtones or alert tones on my Mac, but with this new layout I cannot find them. Please help.

    Hi Psychomania,
is there any way, when googling for some howto´s or guides to certain features - say, all security-related stuff - on an E61, to avoid 2/3 of all hits being places to buy the phone and accessories?
If there is stuff I can look up rather than asking a lot of questions here that have been answered already, I am willing to do that, but it is a bit tiresome wading through tons of ads and commercial stuff to find the kind of articles I´m looking for.
    Regards,
    Hendikoischnur

  • HT201272 where are my audiobooks gone?

I had audiobooks on my iPod touch.
I connencted it to my new MacBook Air, and now I no longer have them!.

Was that the first time that you had connected the iPod to that computer ? If they are no longer on your iPod then have they copied over to the Books part of your Mac's iTunes librrary, or do you have a copy of them on an old computer and/or a backup ? Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, but if you don'thave a copy of them anywhere then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
